[Developer Blog] Dawn Children. Part 1

Very soon a new faction will appear in the world of Crossout. Today we will talk about some of its features.

‘After the disaster, some people have acquired genius-level inventiveness. People of intellectual work were more prone to this than others. Therefore, for a while university campuses, closed cities and large laboratories have turned into branches of the world of the future. Until they became more like amusement parks in a madhouse...’

The new faction, which will soon appear in the world of Crossout, is known among the Survivors as ‘Dawn Children’. 

The leader of the faction is Riley. Little to nothing is known about Riley before the disaster, even his gender is not certain. Previously, he was the head of one of the laboratories of Waterquarn Corporation. He is the creator of protective overalls, counteracting the deadly effect of Crossout. However, the sealed suit won't let you see who is inside. There is a theory that the creature inside can no longer be called a human being.

Scientists,making up its backbone, created unique types of weapons, parts and modules. Perhaps the most famous of their inventions is the hover: vertically positioned jet engines that provide stable traction and allow the car to soar above the ground. 

Survivors will be able to produce hovers ‘Icarus 7’ - parts of epic rarity. Managing them is not as easy as it seems, you need to learn how to keep your balance. But hovers don't need roads. With their help an armored car can soar above the ground and water.

Before the disaster some scientists from the ‘Dawn Children’ worked on space vehicles intended for mankind's conquest of space. That is why many of the faction's parts, including cabins and wheels, were previously used in the Moon and Mars rovers.

The new wheel ‘Lunar-4’ is one of these parts. Previously, it was intended for movement over the surface of celestial bodies, but it also works great for wastelands. 

In the next issues of the Blog, we will tell you about the latest weapons, new modules and cabins that will be available to players along with the new faction. 

We remind you that the Developer Blog series tells the players about preliminary plans for the development of the project. The final version may differ from the changes described above.

Sounds like after hover we gonna get copter looks like robocraft i played alot that game. i like the idea i like to see new faction but before all this i want to see my FPS problem fixed BJKalderon , been over week , spend 2 week on customer support now over week on forum support there is noone find a solution or give me information.as i said like to see new factions and parts in game wish you guys best luck and good job on improving game also wishing my issue been fixed but not.Many thanks Best regards...

i like this game so much, only one that i dont like. the asia server is not availible yet, that's what i dont like. please tell me dev, when the asia server will availible?? a lot player also ask that.

The garment is called "Coveralls". Overalls are what a farmer wears with the shoulder straps and bib on the chest that holds pencils etc.

How is the general roadmap coming along?

(You guys promised to release it some 4 weeks ago.)

I would love to hear more about your plans for the endgame and open world pve.

Robocraft 2.0. Wheels become obsolete, tracks also. Old factions as well maybe. Plasma ,Lasers ,Nano heal appear in a post nuclear world? Soon we will see tesla blades? The knight rider  event had some negative impact in the game, don't make it worse.... Just an advice.

Are we all ready for the auto cannons/reaper to be out damaged by hit scan weapons with instant turret turn rate ?? EYOOOOOOO more credit sink till the other balance patch that arrives too late to save the game. 

Seriously tho I hope for once they test the weapons before adding them.

Pew Pew Pew ,Laser shoot. We can't produce a floppy disk because.: " A special sealed container protecting delicate blueprints of complex machinery from hazardous environments. Requires (TOO MUCH) expensive power supply " However we can make Lasers and hovers because they require no energy at all. Logic?

I mean ok, a floppy disk cost a shitload resources, but producing hovers and some other futuristic stuffs will require less??  Srsly.

As much as I like to idea of a new faction, with lots of new toys to play with, do you not think it would be better to get the game balanced more before putting new and more powerful weapons into the game. To give you an idea of what I am talking about, this power scoring thing you have in the game is use less, after all, you can have one player using common and rare weapons on a vehicle with a ps of 4000 and you can in the same mission have other players using epic and legendary weapons on vehicles of Simler ps, I personally think that you should scrap this power score crape and put a better system in place, some think along the lines of a weapon type match up, i.e. common/rare weapons and epic/legendary/relic this way players can choose what level they want to play, also why should players who do not have the ability to make or buy epic/legendary/relic have to try and survive a match that is completely unbalanced and is always in favour of player with better more powerful weapons and I also think that the cost of leveling up a co-driver should be changed as at the present the cost of resources is scandalous, the list below shows what you currently want players to pay to level up all five current co-drivers. 

Level 5

Scrape: 900, Copper: 100, Coupons: 80, x 5 = Scrape:: 4500, Copper: 500, Coupons: 400

Level 10

Scrape: 2000, Wire: 1500, Copper: 300, Coupons: 150, x 5 = Scrape 10000, Wire: 7500, Copper: 1500, Coupons: 750

Level 15

Scrape: 2000, Wire: 1500, Electronics: 2000, Copper: 900, Coupons: 400, x 5 = Scrape: 10000, Wire: 7500, Electronics: 10000, Copper: 4500, Coupons: 2000

I think it would be better if we had just one co-driver and have the ability to chose what types of skills we want him to have, at present to get a damage boost for unguided missile systems you first have to get Bulldog, up to level 14, which will cost, Scrape: 2900, Copper: 400, Coupons: 650, Wire: 1500, that is a lot of resources just to get a 3% damage boost.

We also need a better way to upgrade our weapons as at present we have to use 3 of each type of weapon we want to up grade and then it is pot luck as to what type of up grade you get, i.e. I up graded two Vector MM5-4 machine guns and got two different up grades one was up graded to recoilless and the other was up graded to reinforced, now a better system for up grading would be to use two Vector MM5-4 = recoilless up grade, three Vector MM5-4 = reinforced up grade.

Here are a couple of other recommendations I have to help improve the game, scrape all these caps that are in place and also remove fuel from the game, i.e. by removing the need for fuel in order to play raids, this would give player the chose of which type of match they want to play as some players like to play raids more than missions and also improve the rewards that you get from doing the raids, take the convoy escort raid if you have played two raids on easy you would have maxed out you coupon limit for the day as you can only  get six each day, so all you get is some copper, but if you got something like scrape or even a rare weapons system that you can either use or trade on the market, for the cargo race and defence raids again give the players more resources, scrape, copper, wire and for the lot raid give player a reward of resources like wire and electronics thus making the game more fun and rewarding, also use the same system that you use in missions for kill scoring in raids to let players know how many raiders they have killed. I would also like to see the round nose cabin that is used on some of the engineer raider vehicles to be made available to players in the game under the engineer's faction.

other things that it would be a good idea to sort out as pointed out by other people on this forum is this incessant need you have of putting common parts into crates, this has to the worst idea any one could have thought of why should we the players waste our time playing the game for 2-14 hours just to open a crate that has a high % of a chance getting a common part that (A) we can get just by winning a match, (B) but for less the 0.50c on the market, it is better and more cost effective for me to sell them and get some much need credits, also this nasty little trick you have in mission match's with weapons that have a limited amount of ammo, why can we not have the same system as in raids, i.e. we the ammo runs out what 1 minute for it to reload as this again would make mission match's more enjoyable as all you have to do is survive for an extra minute and your ammo stock is full again so you can start fighting once more.

Something else you could look in to and that is giving player the opportunity to make their own maps at first just for use in the garage/test drive map and make the maps available on the exchange for players to swap maps, you could even make a monthly competition out of this idea, i.e. every mouth player get to vote on the maps that they like to most and the winners get a decent reward, 1st, credits, and an epic/legendary/relic weapon, 2nd, credits and a resources bundle 500 scrape/copper, 200 wire/electronics, 100 coupons, 3rd 250 scrape/copper, 100 wire/electronics, 50 coupons and also as someone else on here suggested make the test map available for friends and clan members to try out as well, this again would add more enjoyment to the game, as players can visit their friends test garage and drive around their friends/clan members own test maps, this would be great fun as you could put a system in place where by your friends/clan members can have practice matches against your own designed vehicles, this would help improve players ability's and make mission match's better and more enjoyable.

Something else you should make changes to is this loosie scoring system that you have, i.e. you get 10 points for the first hit, but if you do not knock off a part of the vehicle before your next hit and you die before being able to fire again, you only get 10 points and you have a similar system in place for raids scoring, i.e no matter how much damage you do to raiders and how many points you get, if you do not kill at least 1 raider you get no rep points at the end. This has to be one of the most fubar/snafu scoring system ever devised for any game in the history of gaming, the type of scoring system that should be used in this game is the stander system were by players get awarded points for ever hit, i.e. if I hit someone with a shot from a 76mm, which does 300 + damage the I should get 150+ points = 50% simple system. As well as changing the timer settings on temp parts, i.e. change from 24:00hrs/1 day, to 24:00hrs of game play, i.e. if you have a legendary weapon part made from a crate in the engineer's workshop then it should last for 24:00hrs of game play, not 24:00hrs/1 day.

New parts are very very welcome! More creative builds yay ^^

Also, why not make the grind for faction parts endless? so you can have more than, 2 bumpers or something. like back in alpha. gives even more room for creativity!

I just feel i would like more parts for aesthetic reasons almost 100% of the time.

The hover seems destined to screw the game even more than it is now.  The ability to fly over people is just stupid. 

On the plus side though, you will be able to shoot out the frame from below fairly easily, but i really have to shake my head.  The devs have no idea of what they are doing and definitely have no vision of what the final product should be (or else we would have tried these things in the CBT).  Its just reeks of design by committee where one guy has a vision a certain way, and 5 others have a different idea.  When they combine all their ideas together we get a jumbled hodge podge that end up being impossible to balance with the current game design.

Came here for Mad Maxx, not Robocraft.  New faction sounds like some recycled baby back bull to me.  Frankly I think they should focus more on balance (IE legendary Harvesters or Hurricanes in 2k -2500 matches sealclubbing) than trying to create a new faction that does little to benefit the content of the game beyond a forboding look into the future.

 

The 'lore' of the game also doesn't support things like hover-craft tech or plasma/tesla electro-blasts, (let alone the infra guidance rockets and rail gun we already have)... If there's that sort of 'tech' in the game world, why would this sort of combat even be necessary as a function of 'society'.  

 

Stick to the ground, tires, treds, and legs (though even those are sketchy) or else the 'tech creep' will have helicopters and spider-mechs climbing walls and you'll just be a darker color scheme of roborcraft with shittier mechanics.
