Greetings to all inhabitants of the Wasteland! We would like to devote today's blog entry to our plans for the future in revamping the most widespread movement part in the world of Crossout — wheels. The makeover will mostly affect a particular characteristic — wheel grip with different surfaces. What are the reasons and what will be changed?

Let's start with the fact that in Crossout, there are 3 types of wheel traction: grip with hard (asphalt), dense (dirt) and loose (sand) surfaces. Each of them makes its own adjustments to the handling of the armored car. As you could have already noticed yourself, some wheels ride better on hard surfaces, some — on loose surfaces, and, for example, ‘Balloon tyre’ is a compromise for average performance on any surface. These attributes were implemented to ensure that wheels were different from each other not only in appearance, but also in handling.

The main problem is that maps in the game are selected randomly, and no matter how much they would like to, players can not adjust to the future map conditions and mount the perfect wheels for them. Thus, chance plays an important role, which can negatively affect the gaming experience.

Let's move on to the planned changes. First of all, we plan to remove different grip performance for different wheels. After these changes, all wheels from a single rarity tier will move equally well on hard and dense surfaces and will get equally stuck in loose surfaces. But this does not mean that all the wheels are going to be identical to each other. We plan to move to differentiating wheels by such attributes as: durability, resistance to a certain type of damage, effect on the power of the installed cabin, etc. In addition, taking into account the players' feedback about the ‘Desert Valley’ map, we are also going to improve wheel grip on sand in such a way that the handling of armored vehicles on this surface becomes more predictable.

We also plan to slightly increase the grip parameter for wheels of rare and epic rarity tiers. Please note that the adjustment is not going to be major, yet it's still worth mentioning. The grip parameter for wheels of base and common rarity tiers will not be changed.

Lastly, we are also planning to introduce some changes to the handbrake to make its effect more realistic. You can find out more in our guide.

Please note that the plans described in this blog are preliminary and may change during the work on new features or may not appear in the game at all.
