Developer Ka1deron 3,731 Developer Share Posted February 26, 2019 Hello survivors! In the upcoming patch, we are planning new changes in the names and descriptions of parts. These changes will be much bigger than the last ones (with radiators and coolers, remember?), And we decided to tell you about them in advance. We are moving towards our main goal — ensuring that the names and descriptions of the parts form the image of each game faction, and each player can determine who produced any of the parts simply by looking at the name. In addition, we want every part in the game to have both a technical and an artistic description. This will help everyone to get to know the world of the game better, and beginners will be able to understand the variety of parts presented in the Crossout better. Cabins Cabin names were not changed. But their descriptions have been tweaked to a standard form — with a lore part and a technical part, and technical descriptions now correspond to the actual characteristics of the cabin. This is unlikely to help the veterans of the game, but it will certainly be useful for beginners. Hardware Most of the equipment available in the game has received new names. We took into account the factional features, and also — in the descriptions of the items — told you a few short stories about the game world and the main characters. Generators Generators can be made with Lunatics, Nomads and Scavengers. When developing new names, we thought not only about making them fit into the general semantic row of a faction. It's also very important for us that people can call their equipment the way we call it. For this reason, for example, the colloquial “Big G” and “Gasgen” by the Lunatics appeared in the game. Radars For Scavengers, who are always in search of something valuable, the radar is an important tool for a comfortable existence in the vicinity of the Sepulchre. And, since these are just tools, Scar's underlings did not have to suffer with the names for a long time. Radar-detectors Radar-detectors are the invention of Nomads who seek to make their stay in the Wasteland more quiet and safe. Dawn's Children have participated in the creation of these high-tech devices — hence the names that bring back memories of ancient science. Boosters Some people like to catch up, others want to run, so boosters always have their fans. In the new part descriptions, we tried to show what inspired faction engineers to create such equipment, and reveal the important characters in our world through them. Ammunition and fuel tanks Due to the simplicity and obviousness of their function, we decided not to change the names of the parts in these categories. There isn't a faction in Crossout that is so romantic as to give special names to fuel tanks or crates. Engines The engines in the Crossout are based on real prototypes. We left the names untouched, but the descriptions now correspond to the images. Thanks to the community for detecting the inconsistencies! We will continue to listen to your comments and feedback about the texts in the game. Changes to melee weapons Surely many of you wondered where the Lunatics found a weapon called “Lancelot”, so we will tell you this story. In addition, we changed the name of the Lunatics' first melee weapon: now it is a simple “Boom”. Our work with the names and descriptions of items is not done: not all the parts are in proper form, and not all categories have been covered. We will be glad to hear your wishes and suggestions. Naturally, a large-scale change of texts is far from the only thing that awaits you in the upcoming update. Follow the news on the website! 2 4 2
Kabab_Linux 73 Share Posted February 26, 2019 why changing the names ? Ka1deron (Posted February 26, 2019) The reasons are described in parts 1 and 2 of the following blog;) 1 1 1
_f0r3v3r_ 921 Share Posted February 26, 2019 Regarding the RD-2 Keen, I want to point out that the description for the radar calls it a radiator in the picture above. I don't have any particular desires for this renaming. But I would urge you to spend additional time on spelling and ensuring the proper semantics and vocabulary are used. I support anything that adds immersion to the universe of XO. Ka1deron (Posted February 26, 2019) Thank you for pointing this out! The description shown on the screenshot is not final and it will be changed in the final version;)

Yurker 423 Share Posted February 26, 2019 As long as it doesn't affect the regular development of the game I'm apathetic. But where is part one? Citygrump 4 Share Posted February 26, 2019 As a new player (less than 4 hours of experience on Crossout) I personally think giving any item a background story is a good idea, it fills the user in on a little bit more behind the story emerging any user. 1 1 1
rpek32 1,806 Share Posted February 26, 2019 every other problems is solved and its time to rename things? Ka1deron (Posted February 26, 2019) This is just one of the many aspects we are trying to improve with every update. Jafarson 441 Share Posted February 26, 2019 (edited) Targem games: Spoiler Oh forgot... and wasting time on renaming stuff, while there is most stupidest talent system ever seen called - CO-DRIVER! (which is also costs tons of materials btw... bravo targem you are mvp) Edited February 26, 2019 by Jafarson

Jafarson 441 Share Posted February 26, 2019 Can you "don't know what to do" people change Tsunami's perk? I don't say to buff or nerf. Just change most useless perk EVER... Who the hell will stay AFK 5 secs for 20% damage buff (not sayin' about 15 sec for 60%) when you are attacked by 2 - 3 of melee rides, or even if u are not attacked and just sniping from far.... Maybe change its perk like whirlwinds? as Tsunami is also sniper like cannon 4
Canthal 120 Share Posted February 26, 2019 RD-2 Keen (radar) in the screenshot is referred to as "Radiator" in the description. Hope you correct it Ka1deron (Posted February 26, 2019) Yes, it will be fixed;)
Spedemix 9,453 Share Posted February 26, 2019 I don't think the old rare Scope had a radar perk in it (increased detection radios), only Neutrino. Does the Visor as you now call it also get a radar perk just like Neutrino has?
The_Ashen_One 107 Share Posted February 26, 2019 mjah, these weird names will confuse the new me say prolly best call radiator a radiator, and a better one, improved radiator (eg) ;) 1
Popular Post szefopl 1,654 Popular Post Share Posted February 26, 2019 (edited) One more thing if we are already in the "descriptions" topic. Why we don't have detailed in game descriptions with parameters and stats how particular hardware work? This is insane for a game complex like this with so many hardware and relations. This kind of information should be always in game for every item that needs it and not like right now when u need to ask ppl on forums, game or test it in game just to know the exact details how a thing works, there are many cases when u even cant test it yourself before obtaining it, exhibition is not enough in many cases. There are also many updates that changes things so a detailed in game parameters are even more important instead of looking for old patch notes what have been changed, asking again players or looking on forums, reddit. Just an example to know what i'm talking about - Kapkan reload time in seconds exact activation time after dropping mine max amount of mines at once on map/per device how many vehicles can it catch before being inactive/self destroyed, is there a limit how many vehicles can be cough at once, is there a limit whats the reactivation time if unsuccessful catch happens, does reactivation have a limit whats the catching radius why it sometimes is unable to catch an enemy if in the radius how long its keeping vehicles if cough mine HP how long mine stays on map if it was never activated or activated if it changes this value, in seconds how long mine stays on map when the owner/dispenser is destroyed, in seconds a note that a mine will stay on map even if owner/dispenser is destroyed Now nothing from above list is in game... but it should, i'm not even sure if anyone can answer correctly every question above beside the devs, we are talking about some names and description changes that in the end changes nothing, but we don't have the most important thing in this kind of game, a detailed hardware parameters. Some items can have a lot of parameters, like kapkan, so the best place to have it is parameters tab, details wont fit on item card. Mad_Lancer 1,247 Share Posted February 26, 2019 THIS IS TERRIBLE!!! Come on nobody in the history of crossout ever mentioned a gas generator as "big G." ( it's even a relatively small size..) Quit trying to be hip. Imagine explaining crossout to a new player... "Shiver", "keen" and "aviator" are esoteric words demanding some understanding of some random lore to guess their application: This only makes things harder to get into for newer players, and besides an "aviator" is the last frickin booster to make you "fly" in the game... when you change words and details to make the game fit more with some "story line" that a few really cares about, you also look away from the actual gameplay... Most players has a better and more instinctive understanding of the games parts than you devs anyway... For example: "In addition, we changed the name of the Lunatics' first melee weapon: now it is a simple “Boom”." --- NOOOO! it's not a melee weapon anymore.. did you forget changing that and adding a new weapongroup "explosives"!? Why change something that's not affecting the game if you forget changing it in a few patches..? over time you have called us players all from "raiders", "survivers", "mechanics", "armored cars", "remotecontrolled vihicles" etc., in your videos and posts and this mainly for the reason that you keep forgetting wich word you used last time you translated the russian main text... 7
Blasted_Off 1,989 Share Posted February 26, 2019 OK i dont really care about the name changes. It will just take time to get used to when in the market. But i REALLY wanna know what happened whit the Avia Booster skin change. This one looks DOPE and its still nowhere to be found in game. Why is that ? The current one is so bad u can see the model's polygons ffs. And i play on max graphics.
TeronGray 119 Share Posted February 26, 2019 "Big G" or "Gasgen"? Those don't sound like proper lunatic names. I refer to the epic genny as "Mr. Splody McBoomface."

Psycho_Child 8 Share Posted February 26, 2019 (edited) Storage expansion's description should say HOW MUCH the storage expands. Something as important as the items main function should be in it's description, but ATM players has to google that. Quite annoying. Edit: Shouldn't be too hard to add: "+25 storage space." or something. Edited February 26, 2019 by Psycho_Child

Nobody in English calls the Scope & Neutrino modules "visors" (we call them both "scopes"). So when Scope is renamed to TS-1 Horizon, can you re-name the "Visor" category to "Scope"? Then, I can still find the part by typing "scope" into the item search...

Hope this can help It is difficult to know or explain how the blue print and storage expansion work without looking at a chat. I hope this can help. If you look at the expansion as sets. It is easier to think the whole thing. ie , blue print expansion is a set of 1 blue print and 1 exhibition save space; storage expansion always has 25 spaces.
