[News] Witch Hunt is back! Special test server

This fall will be painted with especially bright colours because the traditional special event “Witch Hunt” will be held in the style of the Day of the Dead!

Every year, Ivy XO transforms into the Witch from the Valley to arrange a feast for everyone (and at the same time clear the area of tricky treats). And this time she decided to slightly change the subject of the event. Trusted people say that this decision was influenced by her personal meeting with the mysterious Catrina — the ghost that lives in the Wasteland. Who knows if this really happened, but as a result, the survivors received many colourful decorations for the holiday.

This year changes will be made to the brawl itself. Ivy and the Engineers added special skulls to the maps to make chasing balls even more interesting. Most of them work in your favour, but some should be left well alone. You can test your luck, but you will only see the result after you pick up the bonus. The battle is now personally observed by Ivy herself who encourages the participants.

Winter is coming — it's time to light the fire of the Witch Hunt, survivors!

Please note that as part of this testing battles on the map Valley of the Dead will take place in the format of standard PvP battles.

What can you expect in the Witch's Cauldron this year?

  • Rarity: rare
  • Increases combat reputation gain by 2%

Decor “Taco”

  • Rarity: legendary
  • Increases combat reputation gain by 4%

Decor “Feathered serpent”

  • Rarity: epic
  • Increases combat reputation gain by 3%

You will be able to see the updated “Valley of the Dead” map very soon as part of a public test server. The following changes will also be available for testing:

Pulse Accelerator “Scorpion”

“Scorpion” no longer ignores the penetration value of frames.

The physical models of the following weapons have been changed:

  • Cannon “Avenger 57mm”
  • Cannon “Little Boy 6LB”
  • Cannon “ZS-34 Fat Man”
  • Cannon “Executioner 88 mm”
  • Cannon “ZS-46 Mammoth”
  • Cannon “BC-17 Tsunami”
  • Cannon “CC-18 Typhoon”
  • Grenade launcher “AGS-55 Impulse”
  • Grenade Launcher “Retcher”
  • Plasma gun “Pulsar”
  • Flamethrower “Firebug”
  • “Mandrake” Howitzer
  • Pulse Accelerator “Scorpion”

Developer comment: We continue to work on updating the physical models of rotating weapons. Now the physical models of the listed weapons are smaller, follow the rotation of the barrels correctly and correspond more to their visual models. Note that changes in the physical models can lead to the need to reassemble some of your armoured vehicles.

The visual model of the following guns has been changed:

  • Minigun “MG13 Equalizer”
  • ‘Reaper’ minigun
  • Shotgun “Sledgehammer”
  • Grenade Launcher “Retcher”
  • Cannon “ZS-46 Mammoth”

Crafting parts

Changed the recipes of all “rare” parts:

  • Reduced the number of required “common parts”.
  • Increased the required amount of scrap metal.
  • Please note that the change only affects crafting parts at faction workbenches.

Special challenges

Please note that special challenges related to the “Experiment” mode will be available until October 24 on all platforms. After that we will replace them with special challenges for the Halloween event after the next update. Hurry up and get your unique stickers!

Interface

  • Pressing the “Battle” button in the garage will automatically launch the mission “Get the scrap metal!” or the last mode in which you participated. To open the world map and select another mode, press the “Select mode” button (under the "Battle" button). 

Developer comment: Please note that we are currently conducting random testing of the updated interface, so some players may still have the old functionality of the “Battle” button. This is not a bug.

  • Now, when you hover over some of the patches, you can see which parts to use to get them.

    • Machine Gun Mastery 5;
    • Shotgun Mastery 5;
    • Cannon Mastery 5;
    • Crossbow Mastery 3;
    • Special Weapon Mastery 3.
  • Added new trials and banner backgrounds for completing them:
    • Machine guns: legend;
    • Shotguns: Legend;
    • Cannons: Legend;
    • Crossbows: Expert;
    • Special Weapons: Veteran;
    • Special Weapons: Expert.
  • Added new medals and rewards for receiving them in the form of themed portraits:
    • Knechte treasurer;
    • Halloween zillionaire.

How to get to the test server?

If you have already participated in testing on a special server, then it will be enough to start the Launcher from the folder with the test client and wait for the update to complete.

  • Create a new folder for the game on your hard drive.
  • Download the Launcher from this link. The file name should not contain numbers indicating that the file is a duplicate. Please note that you should launch the file that does not contain any digits (1), (2), etc. in its name. If, when starting the installed launcher, you get to the live game servers, you need to delete all downloaded launchers from the download folder and try again.
  • Start the Launcher and install the game to the folder you created (for example D:\Public test\Crossout).
  • After the installation is complete, start the Launcher and enter the game with your username and password.
  • The whole progress of your main account will be transferred to the main server (including parts in storage and levels of reputation in factions).
  • After logging into the server, to transfer progress from your account, press the “Esc” key and select “Copy account data”.
  • Please note the schedule of the test server:
    • Friday, October 18, 2019: from 14:00 to 19:00 (GMT time)
    • Saturday, October 19, 2019 from 15:00 to 18:00 (GMT)
    • Sunday, October 20, 2019 from 15:00 to 18:00 (GMT)
  • Any progress you make on the test server will not be transferred to the live game servers (INCLUDING ATTEMPTS TO BUY PACKS).

After testing the changes, we invite you to leave your constructive feedback on the planned rework in THIS THREAD (it will open a bit later after the launch of the test server).

You can report all issues found on the test server here.

The public test server is intended only for testing of the upcoming update, and may not accommodate all players without exception. However, absolutely anyone can join the server, as long as there are free spots.

Powerup skulls in Witch Hunt, sounds like fun. Glad to see it visit a different map (Sandy gulf).

I'm loving the announced little changes, too!

WOW! Fixed annons physical models are so much better. Now they are really synchronized well with their visual model.
Other weapons are also nice but it seems Little Boy and Retcher are kinda weird. They can pass through another one.

Except this, most of the changes are really great. So much more improved physical models. I love it.

There is a bug. Thunderbolt looks kinda weird in parameter image.
And you guys forgot giving us Equalizer and Sledgehammer!

These model changes are really good changes! Both the visual changes and the physical changes. Now you can actually land your shot on an enemy gun if you shoot at it's barrel.

 

Also the changes in crafting are good. If you guys can't add a queue system onto crafting, this is the next best thing to do.

 

I also like how you can hover over the trial tasks and it'll show you what weapons would you actually need to get the trial done. Also it's nice you sorted the fire trials out: one banner for each rarity.

 

I think the Pulse Weapons -trial is bugged. I recall it having tasks involving the use of Scorpion. Now it has some stuff about drones. You might wanna take a look at it. The last task in the list is bugged: it shows a task from a previously selected trial.

Error report
Describe problem and what you saw new barrel hittbox on cannons is not working properly
What you expected to see since every part on ones car can do ramming damage, then it also should do ram damage to an enemy cannon BARREL, since it now has a hittbox.
Conditions in which error reproduce when closeup to an enemy the barrels of long barreled cannons like tsunami or typhoon goes inside the enemy blocking it. this does not happen however when colliding with the damaging end of melee weapons
Problem details this problem should not exist now that cannon barrels have hittboxes. when this happens you cannot shoot since the game sees the cannon as blocked.
Frequency of reproduction always

@Woodyrojo @BjKalderon I have a question regarding the new models. Seeing as the scorpion is getting a new look, will my scorpion with the customisation kit on it have the old hit box or new?  And also will the ck stay with the old look or be changed with the new model?

^^In my opinion the devs should allow full barrel collision with the environment. If someone wants to blast their cannon right in front of the enemy, let them do that.

but tsunamis are still the slow brother of typhoons, since the barrel depresses with the full turret and such the pivot point is further back. This alone, plus the rudimentary traverse calculations sistem that if 1 square is a little blocked, then it doesent move that way, makes the tsunami still bad

Hi everyone ^^,

 

i see the nex colision box for canon and the new skin for the mammoth , that's very cool :014:. Mammoth now have a chance to deal damage before it's destruction ( say gooood bye to the cubic hit box :p and now the size is 1high smaller and 2 large smaller good).

 

In a simple way the major and interesting thing is in the new model for retcher  and the new style map for hallowen.

Oh and the tweak for the scorpion work ! Nice :yes_yes_yes:.

The new models look great. I also noticed, that there is now up to 30 blueprint slots in the player's blueprints, is that new? I hope it will come to the live server as well and that the base amount of available blueprint slots would increase, especially for the poor players that only got 4 slots when they started playing :)

Good to see there is now also a trial and profile background for legendary flamethrowers, that one's been missing for a while.

Yeah that's been on the test server like the last five times and then never made it out to the live server. But keep your fingers crossed, one of these updates they will surely add it. Any month now!

While you're making changes, why not change 1 number and make Porcupines 4 energy and let us paint the Firebug barrels. And I own Porcs so no bias, they're just everywhere, even on hovers. 3 powerful relics and 7 energy left on the build is too strong. How about being able to rotate cabs or hovers so everyone can easily run the overpowered sideways hover builds to make a more even playing field. Retcher and Reaper models look great. I expected the Scorpion to be smaller than it is since their original feature of destroying frames was removed. Thanks.

It's a learn to play issue if you have that much difficulty against porc, plus it's terrible against hovers, the strongest meta currently. It's an excellent anti dog build tho.

yeah when the enemy camps on cap with quad porcs, in full cover, just spamming 1 button to cover the cap in porcs making ti impossible to even go near the point.. its totally a learn to play issue, kek

Don't go on that cap, that's it... Or get there first. Unless you have hover, then yeah you can even go in fly over it. You guys really think porc is OP compare to other relics? What is going on with console users man, is porc the meta over there? xD I prefer fighting porc rather than typhoon, scorp or breaker for sure.

Breaker? 1 Kapkan and the Breaker is done, its practically a waste of 600 Uranium. 3 encounter maps in Clan Wars, you can't just go in the cap with a hover or spider or anything and expect to live because Porcs are 3 energy and so you'll be dealing with 4 Kapkans on the ground minimum. And yes even on a hover you can't just float over fire and dodge every porc in a small circle lol. And how can you get there so much faster when Porcs are on hovers now too. Plus they nerfed Spark vs Porc. Four energy is reasonable, 3 Porcs 1 Kapkan 2 modules etc is still a great build, 2 Porc Mandrake would still work with a Hot Red too.

As a wheel build (with Punishers, but the weapons are irrelevant to my point), Porcs completely obsolete me on half the maps in rotation. When using a single type of movement part for every weapon (that isn't a mandrake) becomes necessary, we have a balancing issue. It's not counters and counter-counters. It's one single weapon stagnating half the entire rest of the game. This ain't some fringe weapon making a splash in the right circumstances (See: Helios). This is a plug and play Trump Card that kills 75% of everything with minimal effort and is so overbearing it makes mincemeat of skilled opponents. You can't simply put any Tom, xxxx, or Harry in a Punisher or Scorpion build and expect universal results. But if you tell any braindead kid to march towards the cap, never stop flinging barrels and face the general direction of the enemy, you have an elite killing force that can farm uranium with ease. Broooo-ken.

good luck aiming to destroy even 3 proc barrels before they can fire another volley, let alone attack the player.. I don't get people who defend porcs so much.. 

like, this are obvious when they're unbalanced, you just look like you want some advantage by keeping it that way..
