TotallyNotLucas 230 Share Posted April 30, 2020 I think the best course of action for a real life XO would be a mix of what you did together with some LEGO style knobs. Some users also tried something similar: On 2/21/2019 at 7:54 AM, C_Geremy said: Hello Survivors ! Welcome to my workshop. In this post, I will show you a project I made, that I hope you like This project started as a joke with some friends. Then I thought that it could be a cool challenge. First, I designed all the parts in the CAD software SolidWorks. All, one by one, as close as possible to the game ones. For the scale, I took 25x25 millimeters for one square (when you press F in build mode). All other measurements are random, trying to keep the proportion as much as possible. Slight changes in some parts were made to fit the poduction process. Here are screenshots of the main parts : Animation Gif with an exploded view being assembled: And the final assembly: And before you ask, I am not allowed and I will not send/sell model files or printed parts. > Want to learn more about the original build ? Check it out on this beautiful website : https://www.gv-tsu.com/crossout-builds/c_tank-x54/ Once the virtual assembly is done, groups of parts are selected and saved individually, in order to make the painting process easier, and minimize the chances of a failed print (all the parts are printed in one batch, so if one moves, the entire print could be ruined). Saved as STL files, they are ready to be printed. Some informations about the printing process : - Printer type : SLS industrial printer - Material : PA 2200 fused powder - Layer height : 0.1 millimeter (Z axis) - Laser precision : 0.005 millimeters (XY axis) SLS printers allow to manufacture parts with higher precision compared to FDM (filament printers), I chose this production method so more details of the CAD design will be visible in the final object. Furthermore, the surface finish is mat, so it needs post-processing to make the surface suitable for paint : the sintered powder absorbs the dyes, resulting in not vibrant colors. I applied layers of gloss varnish, and then painted the all thing with appropriate colors, based on my ingame vehicle. Size : 15 cm long, 5.4 cm tall, 12 cm wide Let's look at the finished result ! Ra1nbowStlin 0 Share Posted May 27, 2020 (edited) Looks nice, OP. What kind of 3D printer did you use? I have some ideas about where to find a decent 3D printer, but I have some doubts. Not so long ago, my friend from France told me that impression 3d métal is a decent printer. I sure it is, because the guy showed me stuff he did with this one. But I want to buy something in America if it's possible. On the other hand, I have never been in the Paris. Maybe right now is my time to make it to the France? See the Eiffel Tower and taste some good French wine. I don't know. Edited May 29, 2020 by Ra1nbowStlin
