Why do Piercers not have a perk?

Recommended Posts

Title. Other special (teal) rarity weapons have a perk, like the Sinus or Hulk.

Special rarity weapons have two requirements to have a perk:

1: Its Epic relative has a perk.

2: It is not the earliest member of its lineage.

Piercer fails the second requirement, so it has no perk.

Thank you for the info! Seems odd anyway, not like giving them a perk would push them into overpowered territory, though. Also, I know for a fact that Piercers used to be of blue rarity.

To me, seems rare that special cabins and modules are not affected by this.

They could have made them more "special" than just glorified rare items.

I wish weapons had more realistic perks. The Imp and Fidget have multiple guns. Why not have a firing mode that can be toggled where the guns fire twice as fast but overheat twice as fast, or they fire twice as long with half the rate of fire? I like the Omnibox' perk because it is more realistic and conducive to multiple playstyles. It isn't just a universal buff. Rapid Fire Machineguns are in this awkward spot because they are a cross between miniguns/rotary cannons and shotguns. They are inherently a class about mediocrity because of this. They could use a more inventive perk.

Even if it is the first of its line.  A smaller version of the epics perk would give it at leest something.  It wouldn't make it much stronger though.
