No new game modes, no new nothing.
Just new pewpew but no new modes to use them.:(
Getting really tired of this game.
Still see no progress. Since years ... what we got? Some maps, ... ok, but same 3-5 min pewpew.
Could be me, sure. But i cannot remember anything really great we got in the past years.

Is it me?

I accept anything. Trolls welcome.

Nope, is not you,  for some people that's newer there is still something to do, but for us who have been here for years, it's been the exact same for a while now...  Which is shame, giving the absurd ammount of potential de the game has.   Just basic pvp modes that are in every pvp game to start with would be nice, is not like the list is short

That's a consequence of the game's variety more so than the devs not using the game's potential to it's fullest. A team of slow leg builds would be useless against a team of half slow legs and fast wheel builds in a capture the flag mode. A escort mode would need to accommodate someone that's using mandrakes as well as someone using shotguns.

Either the MMing would need to be able to take build types and weapons into account or it'd lead to lopsided matches short of the MMing allowing only a specific amount of specific builds into the various specific PvP modes or disqualifying specific builds from specific modes.

I love the game as it is, but I would love it more with more combat modes. Longer battles, smaller teams, bigger maps, bigger teams, etc.

 

Unfortunately I have noticed that a lot of long time players seem to react negatively to new modes. Look how much people freaked out about that experimental repair mode, or leviathans in CW.

Getting new modes isn't something I fear, what I fear is bad changes like repair getting pushed into the game (There were test servers. The idea was rejected by the majority of players. When it got pushed into the live servers in the form of the experiment, it split the queue for an extended period of time and made MMing take longer.) or imbalanced/badly implemented modes like a capture the flag mode where using legs makes you an automatic liability.

We need Time trails (race), Sprint races (the convoy maps) and cats vs mouse 8v1 brawls/raids only to name a few. I would gladly work those ideas out, but im not sure if suggestions are still being reviewed.

PvP Raids.  I'd start with Chase, 1 Clan escorts the Trucks, the other tries to Destroy them.  (Then, switch.  I'd say 2 wins in a row, or one team quits, and forfeits.)

1v1 Duels.  In the Colosseum.  Maybe some other Maps, Sector Ex would be fine for that, and they can take it out of Missions rotation without giving up all the work they put into it.

This might be derailing, but I’ve noticed that I’m getting in way more no-bot games lately. Either the devs have tweaked the matchmaking, or PS4 has been growing its player base In recent months. 


Anyone experience anything similar?

 

I feel like scrap/batteries/wires should have rotating distinct modes. Make them substantially different types of battles, but have some variations in each category.

There are more ppl joining when the countdown started already. They may changed that,
but bots are still there.
Just had a match with 2 or 3 mandrake bots on sector x and one of them blocked me the entire match.
And i mean really blocked - i could not move.

I do not like the mandrake bots. Forgot about them when I was playing low PS, but Cohort got me playing above 10 000 PS again.


Still, three bots on a team is better than what I used to see. And no-bot matches used to be so rare. 
I’m also seeing lots of people joining during countdown, which makes me suspect MM tweaks might be responsible.

Game needs more modes, better raids, and less grind. None of my friends want to play this game because of the grind. I agree with the grind to get relics, but getting a competitive 8-9k build to farm missions should not take months and months of F2P where you max badges every week. 

Raids suck. They honestly need to be way more difficult and unpredictable. The increased difficulty would increase the scarcity of resources.

Missions are ok but they get really boring. They are always just a mindless fast paced shootout where the team with the best meta usually wins. Its sidehovers and wedges that dictate the gameplay flow every damn game, whether it be shotgun wedges, drones, or fire. Its always radar detector and cloak spam as well. Missions are just people playing the game purely out of routine because it automates so many tasks for players through radar, cloaks, drones. Gameplay would be radically different if they overhauled spotting and cloak mechanics along with adding new modules for those mechanics.

The game needs a less mindless cookie cutter meta, I don't mean just the old and tired wedges and hovers, I mainly mean modules and perks combined with movement parts. Why are engines the best way to speed up reloads, why aren't there specific modules for this? Why don't engines have their own speed values which influence torque and movement part speed? The new Omnibox and Power Supply perks seem like a good direction for perks imo, they don't serve as a net buff, they just allow you to trade this for that to specialize your vehicle for two different tasks. Then you got weapons, their health and turning speed should scale with the vehicle they are attached to. You would see a lot more slow tanky equalizer/arbiter builds.

 

Game is just completely stagnant. The faction events aren't alluring anymore. The structure is neat, but the weapons and the gimped legendary cabs are just overhyped. I'll launch it to play a couple games while I wait for my squad to hop on, but I don't enjoy playing this game as my main any longer.

They are just paintball maps; 2d planes with some obstructions littered about. There needs to be more verticality, the maps need to have more clearly defined routes to get to places, like valleys where you can flank undetected, or clear ridgelines with bushes that snipers could use. I like rock city a lot because its got two levels to play with, its also large enough to occasionally flank a team by skirting outside their doppler range. I've flanked many camping scorpion hovers before Rock City was removed from CW.

A while ago, I suggested two new PvP modes: Oil Tower and Cargo Train (names might have been different). Both use 8v8 team composition. Neither went anywhere, if I recall.

Oil Tower: The central point of a map (where the capture point in "Encounter" would normally be) has an oil rig that regularly produces a load of oil. This load can be picked up by a vehicle and returned to their spawn site for secure deposit. If the carrying vehicle is destroyed before reaching the deposit area, that load is dropped and can be stolen. A vehicle can only carry one load, and the tower can only have one load available, but there is no limit to the amount of loads on the map (aside from time and vehicle limits, that is). Victory for reaching a number of secured loads, or having more at the end of the match.

Cargo Train: A large neutral cargo vehicle is in the middle of the map. When vehicles from one team are near it, it moves toward that team's spawn. There are multiple checkpoints in each direction. If contested, the cargo does not move. This neutral vehicle cannot be impeded. Victory for taking the cargo all the way to base, or for reaching a checkpoint by the end of the match.

Currently, PvP modes are "sit in one circle", "sit in two circles", and "sit in three circles".

New modes arent a short-term cashgrab so never happening

Maybe if you need to buy a pack to early access the mode and find out its a lazy scam

Yup, I agree 100%. I've recommended new games modes so many times, but my great ideas never even get approved.

I recommended SURVIVAL mode (PvP and PvE), where in PvP you have classic "infection" style survival, 16 players start out as in brawl, all vs all. Whoever gets destroyed first, re-spawns as a small raider and then has to destroy all the surviving players. He would have unlimited re-spawns, but if one of the survivors gets destroyed, they will also re-spawn as raider. If raider player is unable to destroy a single player within like 10 minutes, then he will re-spawn as more powerful raider, this goes on until raider players have quite powerful vehicles already.

For every second survived, you gain points and based on your points you gain rewards. For like first 10 mins you only get scrap, then also wires and batteries for surviving longer than 30 mins.

If you're raider, you gain points for damage you deal to survivors, so you still have chance to make some points, but survivors should obviously make a lot more points than survivors.

 

In PvE mode, it's just 8 players vs endless waves of bots. The longer you survive, the bigger the bots get. By bigger, I don't mean some nonsense health buff where 1 raider can literally take 5000 damage with just cabin and couple pieces of armor, I mean bigger as they would come with full clan wars capable builds! like breaker bots, 3x cyclone bots, mandrakes ..etc. Unlike in PvP, you'd get different resources. first 10 mins only copper, then plastic and after 30 mins you start getting elecronics too!

 

Then another mode I'd recommend Assault / Defend PvP mode.

Assault team's job is to attack a fortified base, they would have 3-5 re-spawns.

While Defend team, has 30 second period to first fortify the base with placable walls and turrets (like in raids, but you can choose a place where to play a wall or turret) and then defend team also has a repair station somewhere at back of the base, which should only repair parts that haven't already fallen off. If your weapon is about to fall off, you can get it back to 100% in short time, but defenders should only have 1 life, once they get destroyed, you can't respawn.

 

I think those 2 modes would be really fun to play!

Who is going to approve  ideas ? And even if approved who would execute them ?

One thing that would be easy to do is a lobby browser for custom games , and allow a brief description ex: "Tusks only" , "Slamdunk" or "Rock Cimbing"  , etc.

Show an icon to see if it got shared blueprints on or off , who is hosting , player count and also the map/mode, pretty basic and simple.

Dont know if you've seen it but i've described and suggested similar escort mode, in which :

-you try to escort and protect the truck.

-i try to destroy the truck.

-to keep us all moving to some known landmark, theres something like the storm warnings red area, pushing us all along the map so we cant stop and turn battle in to normal pvp where we hide,peek a boo and roll around,stopping and such. No ,we need to actually move along the truck.

-if i could decide, the map would be like wide-ish canyon, with small/low, divider-like ridges and rocks here and there, but nothing big to camp behind or climb on to have more than 2 meters elevation.

-gate-like rock formations, few places to zigzag up and the hill to get on tiny tiny high places on the canyon walls.

-bushes and streams,little deep water puddles, car wrecks, maybe ruins of souvenir shops, miners shacks,gas station. An old historical place once used by old school miners, then turned in to tourist attraction which then got abandoned.

So we couldnt stop much, and enemy attacks us from gateways,holes and cracks on the canyon walls, that act as passage ways from enemys several spawning places. You know, so we are next/behind the truck when the game starts, and you only need to drive through chosen gateways to enter the canyon where we are.

2 ways to do it. Cw + pvp, so its there for everyone to have fun, or to cw it.
