[Developer blog] What awaits survivors in the foreseeable future?

Hello, Wasteland survivors! It’s December: soon this controversial year will end, and the “Snowstorm” along with the New Year mood will return to the world of Crossout. It’s the perfect time to share our plans for the near future with you!

We remind you that all the new features described in the “Developer blog” are not final and may be changed before they are introduced into the game or may not make it into the game at all.

The fourth season in Crossout will begin in February!

We are now working hard to bring a new faction to Crossout in February. Who are they and what are their goals? Should survivors worry about their safety? Alas, even the scouts prefer to remain silent: they just look at the rising Sun.

We have yet to learn more about the new season in the upcoming year, but now we can say that the emphasis will be on cool new parts for your vehicles (but several unique objects for the range building will be included as well).

New Year in Crossout

This year we decided to return the “Present heist” brawl that many enjoyed playing last year. Let’s take a look at the brawl’s highlights and find out what to expect as rewards!

  • Players need to defend the truck from attacks by Gronch’s henchmen when it’s loading/unloading gifts, as well as provide escort while it’s moving between bases.
  • As the players progress, side quests become available on the map.
  • Successful completion of a side mission will allow you to apply certain bonuses to the truck.
  • After a certain number of enemy waves, players will have to fight the gang leaders.

As in the past year, especially persistent survivors will be able to compete for the title of the best defender of the New Year and get unique commemorative rewards, depending on their place in the rating.

For the completion of the brawl, the survivors will receive a special resource “Crackers”. Crackers and other resources/parts can be exchanged for rewards from a special workbench. And the rewards will be unique this year!

Every day until January 12, a unique offer will appear on a special workbench, during which you can improve a specific part and are guaranteed to receive an already known set of upgrades!

Let’s give an example of how this would work:

Another event day has begun. You enter the game and notice that today you can upgrade a specific machine gun and get 3 already known bonuses. During the entire duration of the offer, you can upgrade an unlimited number of such machine guns and all of them will have the same bonuses, known in advance.

The schedule with a list of parts for upgrade will be published as a separate news item along with the release of the New Year’s update.

Each offer will be available for several days, and the variety will be updated daily. Most of the unique offers from last year will also return to the workbench, including the “Lacerator” chainsaw and light bars, as well as a number of new ones, including a new unique wheel hubcap and “Bigfoot” spare wheel.

Market

In order to make it easier for you to track the market situation for a particular part, we plan to integrate the functionality of price charts as well as a number of other improvements into the game.

Colour correction settings

We are currently working on the colour correction settings as well. With their help, you can adjust the brightness, contrast and color depth of the image. No more pitch-black night or overly illuminated images due to the monitor’s specific features!

Leviathans

We’ve taken into account your feedback on the leviathans and their current build features. In one of the next updates, we plan to implement a mechanic, thanks to which installing many of the same or similar types of weapons will no longer be such a simple and profitable solution. For now we will not go into details and only note that after installing a certain number of weapons of the same type, all subsequent ones will consume more energy.

Balance changes

Of course, we do not forget about the main questions related to in-game balance, and we plan to gradually continue working on them. “Wedges”, hovers and “side - vehicles”, handling of augers and tracks as well as a number of other topics, which we will talk about in the future, when we are ready.

How about you guys stop trying to indirectly buff melee builds and start making actual fun content ? The game has received some really stupid changes as of recently and its clear they wont stop.

If you want to ban sideways hovers or put any restrictions on it ,you have to bring back more durability and mobility to all hovers otherwise PS4 community will say GOOD BYE.

Please remove leviathan clanwars.  If not just remove, please make new survey about leviathan clanwars.

finnaly, a bigfoot spare wheel, it will literaly be the bes part of this update, if it arrives, and i hope it will :)

The levi part makes it clear that levi-cw will stay -.-
I mean you dont want to win players in invasion PVE. So its a reaction to levi-cw.
And you keep levi-cw because
- ppl buy more stuff (for their cw levi)
- more ppl dont play cw at least at thursday - so less ppl getting uranium

Coulnt you just add new game modes?

This sounds really practical.

 

I hope there were some plans for the newbies and plans for advertisement of Crossout.

I can't wait! Rising Sun you say?  A Japan-themed faction? Or a reverse faction of the Order of the Falling Star? So many questions!

Now this sounds like a cool change, having to use a leviathan that needs to use multiple classes of weapons could freshen up the mode a little.

they want to players to not use crossoutdb, these market changes will add features that are in the website crossout db into crossout,making players not need a third-party website , also cuting the ad-revenue of crossoutdb making so they need to shut down crossoutdb because they wont have any more money o pay for their website as they wont have ad-revenue or clicks to theirr site

Why couldn't we just have 2 leader boards ? One that is normal CW and one that is LEVIATHAN CW. So everyone can be happy.

I seconde that because I recall MANY (including me) saying "Yeah... I couldn't even understand the ingame poll about Levi CW but the option I really wanted wasn't there", with said option being to make 2 separate CW modes be active of the same time.

please don't "improve" the market any more, you messed him up enough already. If you give a chart to every player sales will decrase even more because they will think they are scammed if the price is some % above the average...

they want to shut down crossoutdb by adding things that are in crossoutdb to the acctual game, making so people acess less crossoutdb making they dont get enought ad-revenue to keep the site up resulting in crossoutdb shutting down

The fourth season in Crossout will begin in February !

Great news for new players , but too late , lot of olds players bored by your system ...

Now do what you want , more weapon , more map , more gameplay , more balance change every week

Nothing will change , too much time to do pack , same problem stay same , you give best balance for low weapon when high stay joke cause your PS system is totaly out

Every month my old friend's in my list stop to play , this is not a scifi , it's the sad reality ....

I love your game , i really wish the best for Crossout , so have a good end year and have a fun devs .

jup agree its such a joke, my hover went from 109xx powerscore to 113xx powerscore with the last nerf but who cares when my 11k builds get matched against 15k-17k on a regular basis, absolut joke!

"Present heist" was great, I'm glad it will return. But the workbench looks like a downgrade from the last year. It was really cool that you could craft "discounted" legendary weapons. The only parts worth upgrading are the cabins, and I doubt they will be included in the new version.

Nobody wants Levi Clan Wars. What players want is an option to control your Leviathan in standard "Invasion" mode.

Devs should gather courage to do something substantial about hovers and wedges. Some whale players will be upset, but if they don't balance the game, the player base will continue to shrink.

NEW FACTION! FINALLY! :DD

Ah finally. So is the new faction similar to the founders or the regular faction like nomad?

And...... ha, the rising sun. I guess thats why u guys add so much Asian culture in stories and in the game huh.

Its good to see that Crossout is multicultural. Hopefully there will be more non-european culture in the game. :)

I like the update note. I wanted to mostly focus on the levi info you gave us, because if work is being done about levis I wanted to throw in some suggestions.

I think the solution you propose is also simple and will be arbitrary if you go along this path. You see I find levi wars fun with my clanmates, and recently I'm carrying us with a Levi consisting of 10 Toadfish crossbows and few additional weapons, this levi effective and wasn't a cheap investment to complete, also building it was a challange. Also this levi isn't OP as I sometimes die and have to be very careful with exposing myself, we don't have a 100% winrate with this and I would consider it fairly balanced.

Now how is that "simple"? I didn't copypaste a banana from exhibition with triggers to win battles by yeeting myself into enemies and pressing booster button.

I have respect for all foes i meet except those dumb triggers, they are a solution that is

1. Cheap

2. Simple to build and use

3. Abuses the one of game's baseline advantages which is speed and mobility (from the triangle of mobility - survivability - firepower seems like they are perfect in all 3)

I think that this solution will be both too complicated and too simple, cause if you say disallow installing more than "6" copies of ANY weapon this will be a bad idea, and if you disallow installing a specific number of every weapon separatedly, like 6 triggers, 4 mammoths ,2 scorps etc, it will cause a headache when building levis. Increasing energy required is equivalent to disallowing usage of a weapon.

Now to not be called out for not being constructive, I will propose a few solution I consider better (or lesser evil), they would be:

A) To leave the levi wars as is. Maybe it's too early to decide on the balance changes, metas might change, if trigger levis keep bullying players we will have to do something about it.


B) Change baseline levi weight limit so it's not 50 tons for and 25 tons of tonnage for everyone, but it's scaled to the cabin! Cockpit is too f****** light to have SAME HP as a heavy tank levi, those guys are skimming around with 6000 hp and APC parts like its nothing, what the actual hell. NOW imagine if they had scalable weight limit thry would be forced to keep their weight lower, and now they wouldn't be able to just drive by like its nothing and take hits with heavy plows and APC parts with their cab snugged in on the back.

(btw this problem is caused by the fact that in game if you just pack all heaviest and fattest structure parts, it's hard to run out of weight limit, this weight limit is double of cohorts weight limit, why would puny cockpit be allowed to have this much? I would propose the weight limit of levi being maybe 3x the cab? Or make it 5x for light cabs, 4x for medium and 3x for heavy cabs :D )


C) Optional mode - how about later on Levi Wars becomes an optional unlockable mode, like this - Levi Wars is unlocked from a certain levi PS threshold like 35K? 40K? Maybe it's unlocked when clan is in league bronze and above? Maybe you could incorporate a ranking system for leviwars on top of it being a clan mode?

Personally i like option B, it seems to be the most sensible solution and I would see it solving a lot of problems, one of them being Trigger boosters, probably a lot of players wouldn't mind this solution being implemented, and I'm sorry griffon users, just use omnibox, it has a good power buff that makes it as powerful as griffon.

Heavy levis on Heavy cabs, Light levis on Light cabs, why not? If those trigger levis were unable to pull off more than 4K hp, i can assure you people would immidiately forget about the problem, from an unfair annoying enemy they would become a challange against a High Risk High Reward player, they have little HP pool, so they have to rely on their S K I L L to avoid getting damaged or potentially one shot by heavier enemies that bring heavy weaponry.

Just please devs, don't screw up fun for everyone cause of minority of bullies, don't make it a group responsibility, I hope you will understand <3 Can't wait for the update.
