Changes in the mechanics of projectile damage

I was under the impression that the changes buff explosive shells, but don’t really impact non/explosive projectiles like Kaiju as much.

How do cannons feel on the test server is what I want to know.

Didn’t they have some technology reasons why they can not do this.

I thought I read somewhere about that.

Wrong, they said it about raytracing based weapons so they might increase their limit to 3 meters max. Not about projectile based ones.

But even here as with my knowledge in IT i know this is just to keep servers less laggy (since only projectile weapons will just use more of their server capabilities). Also as i noticed when bullet based projectile hit first part, after that its raytracing anyway. (and you can read yourself in Physics Engines, difference of physics bullet and raytracing)

Yeah, but I saw video of guys shooting the front on a CW spaced armor hover build and the cannon shot went through all the armor and hit the cabin.

How much farther should get go?

Its about NEW “Armor Penetration” parameter.

if its 100% then it go as far until damage is “delpeted” so if cannon hit is 500 it go as far until it make 500 to parts in its way.

if its 50% then for 500 cannon damage, it go until it do minimum 250. (when it meet cabin, it will make full 500 anyway)

for example Kaiju have just 40% in test server as i remember.

Yeah I understand how it works.

But in the videos I have seen they say when they tested it that it was already OP and if it went in game as is then forget playing anything other then cannons.

I think we really have to wait for all the finally changes to be made before anyone can judge it.

But I’m sure most people (unless your a cannon guy) would rather it be added a little weaker then adjust as needed instead of it being launched OP.

At the end of the day - no one knows yet.

They were already fixing some issues that had with avalanche/etc.

So no worry here. They nerf projectile weapons damage due to this patch.

Sadly it means cannon/kaiju/reaper/whatever-too-op-projectile-weapon will be nerfed in general damage, so it means it will be weaker against anything-no-screen-armor.

And also remember light builds will have more HP after patch

Should remain patient, but I can’t wait for the update to what the official server looks like.I really want to know where they are hesitating and what problems are left unresolved

Sounds like the return of top mounted weapons on hovers, with hefty durability parts in front like train plows. The vertical slit builds only ever made it because nothing truly pierced all the way in besides the lucky scorp shot here and there. With this changes youll need hard points and im guessing having it all center mass layer upon layer will be the norm once again. Vertical slit MG hovers will be a liability against cannons, while being the best against hitscan, non explosive weapons. Probably going to be something like 2 Typhoon hovers, one vertical MG build, with a mix of options for the 4th build.

Also, calling it now. 4 man avalanche omni squads will yeet entire builds out of games so fast they might have a niche meta on certain maps with an absolute yolo playstyle. Sandy Gulf not so much, but Powerplant? You can only kite so much before youre forced to come back to the cap. Add a barrier or two and i smell some dank ass cheese possibilities.

Maneuverability is by no means their strong suit anymore, it’s like a hovering version of a heavy mechanical leg machine gun designed to snap them from the side and take them out.

I don’t know, Avalanche reloads so slowly I don’t think it will ever do serious work. Flash an Avalanche player and he will never get a second shot. I could see Avalanche teams being crushed by Porcs, Kapkans and Flashes as well as by range squads. This makes the Avalanche niche pretty narrow. From my point of view, I like it, but at best its a pretty good gun.

Also, I think the best build for Avalanche is Deadman on wheels for +getaway speed with decent reload and free energy for modules.

These have been on Xbox from the launch of the avalanche, this is waaaaaaay old news for us.

They have been doing it so much that the popularity of this build is already declining because people are getting bored of playing it.

Its been a thing PS and PC. Its not news in its current state. Im talking about after the changes. I thought that was obvious.
