Drone rework proposal

This game in a nutshell.

yeah i use cheetah and bigfoots. Way to long of a reload to be fun, Iā€™d rather play cannons and I hate cannons.

ad the freaking Bfs to go along with cheetahā€¦and the co-driverā€¦and you have to be always on the move to keep the perk always working

I read this post, went and threw all that at a Harpy-Fuze comboā€¦andā€¦wah-laā€¦

Iā€™m sure if I go back in and try to build something pretty at about the same PS (7.4k?) Iā€™ll get mauled, but at least I know itā€™s possible to play them. I donā€™t need to get MVP all the time. I donā€™t care, but I do get bored with getting pwnd fast.

I rage-quit my Fuses right after they nerfed them, because they did it the day after I fused them. Pissed me off. I couldnā€™t get them to work after that, so I shelved them.

Anyway, the eveningā€™s here, so Iā€™m gonna go back in and see if I can doll that rig up a bit. When I tried earlier the lag was a lot better than itā€™s been in a while. It seemed pretty playable, but I didnā€™t have the time. I think the nightā€™s mine now.

I needed, for me was a tons of tries yesterday.

Getting mauled, everyone gets mauled, specially if there is a destructor build or something around.
but the other way around itā€™s not funny either, where your build survive the onslaught and thereā€™s no more drones to launch. Thereā€™s no point in that either.


Try using flying drones, you can go as fast as you want, they will keep up with you unlike wheeled drones, you can keep your way of building.
I did this for the last red light and radiance operation.

Now iā€™m trying to make it viable for the normal battleā€¦while keeping the weight down

6052 power score. I would sit in queue forever at that PS 5 out of 7 days a week. I am forced to run my 4 Turrets at 8,000 PS to score a match quickly, 9000 for 3 Grenadiers.

how i would balance these is simple.

1: undo the damage nerf from before from all drones except grenadiers and annihilators.
2: buff / fix the ai of drones to have them avoid getting in front of your vehicle and stay to your sides or behind you.
3: make it so that wheel drones have better ai and better targeting.
4: rework the perk of the muninn cabin. currently this perk doubles the damage of your drones for 7 seconds before making them go poof. this perk is so bad and unusable by any other drone apart from fuze drones that its not even worth using. how i would fix this is like this

  • give the perk unlimited activation time or it activates upon summoning your drones.
  • when your drones expire the cabin goes into a cooldown state and cannot be used for a period of time.
  • the amount of damage boost it gives is dependant on the drone type, drone rarity and how many of them you have on your car. losing a drone carrier gives your other drones a boost accordingly.
  • keep the lock on perk but increase its distance slightly. maybe 5%.

also these drones need this rework

anaconda:

  • drone reload speed boosted by 150 - 200%. the reload speed is far to slow for this drone.
  • damage increased by 100 - 200%. currently the damage of this weapon is so bad and laughable. 75 base damage to the enemies cabin is so terrible. the drones damage should be a bit higher then that.
  • explosion radius increased by 50 - 75%.
  • missile ai fixed so that missiles dont faceplant into the ground.
  • give the drone more durability. it should have a base of 100 at the very least.

Owls:

  • drone reload speed boosted by 150 - 200%. same reason as the anacondas.
  • drone damage increased by 100 - 200%. again same reason as anacondas.
  • explosion radius increased by 50 - 75%. same as anacondas.
  • missile ai improved.
  • more durability. this drone should have at least 90 durability.

i meanā€¦ does anyone else agree?

None of these things really address the issues I have running drones.

My issue is that I donā€™t care for the energy rework. Iā€™m simply not a fan of how many modules I am now required to use to make any build efficient, not just drones. With the right modules, cab, and co-driver, drones seem plenty efficient to meā€¦were they not so stupid and stared at walls so often.

Without those support modules drones no longer work very well, and if they did, adding those modules and the co-driver would probably make them OP, and very, very irritating at low PS.

Iā€™d simply like them to engage a little quicker, and get lost less often.

No, i get in games easy, thereā€™s no real difference between this build or my puncher or storm chaser or eve this
