Yea md3 owl does a decent amount of impulse, that’s what I’m sticking with from now on 1 md-3 owl paired with 2 toadfish, very fun combo. The owl also cheeses the bots which makes it all that much more deadly.
except you dont need to pay for it. you can simply buy the item to trade from the market or, if you have the blueprints, make them for free with resources and then trade them for fused spikes.
Neat to see that they’ve done absolutely nothing to the brawl and just rolling it out the same way it was way back when ti first appeared. Still a fun mode though, but it still suffers from the usual crossout problem of “single specific weapon is absolutely better than anything else and then you see almost nothing but said weapon”, in this case toadfishes and spikes
But I have had the amazing luck of having had 2 games now where for whatever reason there was not a single toadfish or spike in sight, and those two games were the most fun I have ever had in this mode. It wasn’t over in under a minute and people flung each other around rather balancedly, rather than the whole match being dominated by the crossbows. Sadly crossbows being just so good in this mode takes away from having fun with the more unpopular weapons suddenly doing good, like a pyre+dusk build that is rather fun, until there’s crossbow players in the same match
One thing I do not like in this recent version is how they took away the Medians +impulse fusion some time ago and replaced it with penetration ability, I had fun with the +impulse medians when this brawl first happened but now can’t because the fusion no longer exists, thank you devs really cool really liked spending my stabilizers to get the specific fusion for them way way back (not fused for the brawl itself but way before that when medians were somewhat cheap) and then you guys just straight up replace it with some poopy penetration shenanigans.
Still rather nice that the rewards are not too hard to grind and it does not feel like such a pain you play a few matches and then never again, but just like regular pvp is abundant in firebricks and cyclones this mode is abundant in spikes and toadfishes
right because you just have an averter lying around to craft up an untradable spike or 1000 coins to buy from the market, spend all that just to abuse a mechanic in a temporary meaningless gamemode which exists so that people feel the need to spend their money on that weapon
Sad, I have 3 Toad fish but I don’t want to bother with the game mode .
- Rewards are minimal
- I don’t want to be a Tool and add to the problem spamming a Toad fish ruining others day . (If possible)
- The final prize isn’t something I would use & have a bunch of them unused in my inventory.
i have 6 of them laying around. 2 i had previously + 2 from this event and 4 from the temporary blueprints they handed out a while back for crafting them. if need be i could just use them in raids to as they are pretty strong. plus it would be fun seeing a lunatic being launched into orbit lol.
i bought the spikes because i always wanted them and now i have 3 so im happy with that. yeah they arent tradable but really though i just got them for my enjoyment. the temporary mode doesnt interest me much though, i tried it before in the past but i was never to much into it. still noones forcing them to spend money on buying them, its not like they have a gun to their head… no pun intended xD
isnt that the case with most events? the rewards didnt catch my eye either and look like basic rewards for meaningless tasks. i passed on it.
im disappointed with the reward pool tbh. i wish they made it worth doing. the containers themselves just contain junk really. i mean maybe someone might like some of the things in them but… eh. if it had some fireworks in the crate then maybe.
then good for you but i think most people dont have 6 available averters lying around
I am finding it hard to relate to the complaints.
It’s a temporary brawl that boosts impulse. So of course, weapons with lots of impulse are the best choice!
Are we seriously complaining that high impulse weapons perform best in a brawl that favours high impulse?
As far as the cash grab manipulation complaints go, this is just a temporary brawl with basic rewards, and anyone can complete the challenges to get the rewards without using crossbows. Anyone who is going to be manipulated into spending money to get spikes for this didn’t need much nudging.
Everyone should have some weapons with enough impulse to compete in this brawl (unless you are one of those weirdos who insist on only playing a couple weapons and never want to get out of their comfort zone).
How do you guys cope with real world problems and actual injustice? Is it just constant meltdowns against reality?
More than favoring it’s more on being way too op than anything else available
I at least personally imagine that this game mode is more about giving weapons with minimal to non-noticeable impulse enough impulse for it to be noticeable, rather than being a game mode that just makes the only 2 options in the game that have noticeable impulse to begin with absolutely op
It’s good to have an imagination, but that was never how a mode like this was going to work.
This is absolutely not true. There are a lot of other weapons that hit like a truck in this mode. You just have to stop pretending the mode is something that it isn’t, and choose from the weapons you own that have significant impulse. There are many options.
Its a Niche game mode. Fit for some others not so much. GLHF!
There is no injustice. Just devs blatantly using broken game mechanics to advertise some shit you can buy for money. Very simple, no actual problem just ultra slimey as usual
You have quite the victim complex!
I decided to give my fused Thyrsus build a go at it. The bloody thing was truly OP! Just think if all of the “Adjustments” on weapons and cabins never happened! This game mode would be what XO would have been today. There was a thrill to watch players tumble onto oblivion. Probably won’t play it again but just had to see.
Glad you tried that out: I wouldn’t have guessed it would work, but I guess it is pretty high velocity, so makes sense.
I am quite sure that I was raised to hate capitalism much more than anyone else on this forum.
Because of that, I don’t share your disgust at the relatively mild ways that Crossout monetizes itself.
I save my rage for things that actually matter, and things that are actually unfair.
Even compared to other live service games, at least Crossout allows F2P players to acquire literally any item in the game. Most others have at least some stuff locked behind paywalls.
And the only thing you need to do in Crossout to obtain new items is to play the game, which is something we should all want to do.
If you feel like playing Crossout to get items is unfair, or a form of work, you should really be spending your leisure time doing something you actually enjoy.
If you want to be mad about capitalism, I could go on for hours about where you should direct your rage. Getting mad about having to play a game to get items for that game is just kind of sad. You really have to want to be a victim to get upset about it.
Either that, or you have lived a very privileged life and have no real hardship to compare this too.
(post deleted by author) Yea, I should walk away from this one as well.
There are many other f2p games which have disgusting amounts of p2w and crossout is very mild compared. However those games should not be accepted and should not be seen as the norm or a basepoint to compare other less bad games.
Crossout employs some slimey monetization strategies, and they are treading a line where they try to both employ every legally possible strategy and also not kill their entire playerbase like some other live service games have done.
Ultimately my point is that crossout could function substantially better very very easily and become better both for players and the devs, but due to people being completely incompetent at some level at gaijin/targem, the game continues to actively devolve.
So since youre saying you were taught to hate capitalism, why dont you seem to share my view or one way or another keep defending the flat out stupid direction that the development turned towards?
Because your views are often just ridiculous
