Spam Bots Flood - did anyone else see 365 new topics in 1 day?

yup there was a flood of bots the other day.
i flagged a couple of them in the ‘something else’ so the forum mods would see it.
and a great job they did, all of them gone in a blink of an eye…

Yep, all day yesterday the discussion forum was flooded. I posted about it in the “Bug Reports/Website & Forum” area in the afternoon, and a few hours later my post was gone, but so were the spam postings, so I’m glad that someone was paying attention.

Hey,
There was a bot raid, I was informed about it on our team chat 7 hours after it started (which is pretty bad). The raid was still going on when logged on the forum.
I quickly looked for a pattern in the bots’ messages and pushed a rule to block them, which worked instantly.
Me and @BrainFog_シ cleaned up the forum, as if nothing had ever happened :lying_face:

Here are the numbers:

  • Duration: 7 hours
  • Bot accounts: +500
  • Spam topics: +1000

I flagged the first 30, and then gave up after that. I made a topic about it while it was happening but when it got rolled back it vanished.

i only saw the first two pages ad comment on that.

now we don’t have any excuse to not fly to somewhere.

it’s ‘Hacking’ it bypasses everything.
if you see it,it already stole all your info.
never leave info on your pc…have a gaming pc and another for other stuff.
