If you were good with that combo, you’re going to love it without the damage debuff.
I’ve been playing them just didn’t honestly notice mostly because I wasn’t paying attention for it.
Having been playing on the new Dusk cabin a lot more, in various modes and setups, I can safely say that this change was really bad. This went from just being good on dusk+pyre builds to not being good with anything because Steppe Spider exists.
Then thing that makes it god-awful literal tier of the thing that is expelled from the backside as waste product also known as caca, has nothing to do with the lowered accuracy part of the perk, but the part that slows down projectile speed. I get what they wanted to go for with it, with making Steppe Spider be the ultimate missile cab and trying to do the opposite with the Dusk, but it just does not work. The added damage bonus is not enough to make up for the lack of missile speed.
tl;dr missile speed lowering is already an accuracy nerf on itself making it near impossible to hit any moving targets, or even stationary if you’re moving, and an accuracy lowering effect on top of that is like double negative accuracy perk, but the damage buff is not good enough to make up for it, so you get less efficiency on missiles than you would using any other cabin that does not buff missiles directly. It sucks
They need to rework the perk a bit more outside “Let’s make an opposite of Steppe Spider without testing anything” or just outright remove the missile speed nerf and just go with extra damage + less accuracy. Missiles are too slow to hit anything and everything excluding the Snowfall is not a close range combat missile, because things like Lucifer etc recquire you to move a lot because your guns have no HP at all and do no damage, and with the Dusk you can’t hit anything because not only are your missiles slower than normal, also less accurate, and on Lucifer for example this means that you need long range Skadi-accuracy and enemy position reading.
Or just use Steppe Spider and just get good for free.
Dusk is completely ruined. I wish I could make it work but I just can’t, any build on a Dusk is tons better on a Harpy and becomes near god-like on Steppe. I know it was a very niche cab to begin with, only having a single use in the dusk+pyre setup, but after that was taken away from it, it has nothing. It’s absolutely worthless and useless as a missile cabin because other cabins do everything it tries to do, but better. Even flat out damage buffing cabs are way better on missiles to boost their damage, than this hunk of junk. Literal 0 use cabin now
Like I half expect the whole thing with this cabin went something like:
A: Hey boss! You know how we’ve bee trying to make missiles and rockets viable again without addressing the real problem of explosive damage being ineffective in general excluding a few set guns we can keep milking for money and instead stack buffs on the Steppe Spider cabins new missile related perk to MMGA make missiles great again? Well there is this one cabin called Dusk that has literally 1 purpose and if we roll out the latest buffs to the Steppe it’ll be better than the Dusk cabin in it’s single purpose
B: Oh shoot I forgot that thing even existed. Uhh well, let’s change the perk too and…what did we do with the Steppe again? Make rockets more faster and accurate and homing rockets move better? Let’s do the opposite of that on the Dusk but slap some random damage buff on it as well so it’s different but should work maybe, on paper
A: Cool, we gonna test it out or?
B: In this company? HAHAHA
A: HOHOHO
B: I am sure people find some use for it maybe, I mean it increases damage that’s good enough or something I have literally never touched a single missile gun in my life
A: Yeah, like damage buff good enough and we can’t give it all the good stuff we already gave to the Steppe because then it’ll be just a better Steppe than the Steppe, so yeah good enough who cares it’s some ancient part from years ago with a singular use we need the manpower to make new shiny money milkers
B: Now you’re getting it, they should be thankful we made this such a universal good cabin. Even if Steppe spider exists but it’s different than the Steppe and gives extra damage and we know missiles and rockets do no damage anyway. Are there better cabs in the game to boos weapon damage? Who cares this is good enough, next part!
Sorry if this is a huge rant but it’s a months worth of stacked up frustration towards the changes to this cabin and just not being able to make it work good enough
I do wonder about using the Yokai on it.
I need to finally just sell this POS cab, and add it to the gigantic list of broken and useless crap this game has accumulated.
It was my thought as well, but I did not feel like it affects the Yokai. as far as I know, the game counts the Yokai as an energy weapon rather than a missile launcher, that gets buffs from things like claw wheels etc, that buff energy weapons. But on the other hand, I do feel like Harpy affects the Yokai as well but then again so it does to guantum/pulsar.
But as far as I tested it, it did not feel like Yokai was counted as a missile weapon affected by steppe/dusk etc. Tried to make it work but it worked as well as any random cab rather than finally making the Yokai good again
