What's up?

I don’t think I could even get into a 2499PS match. The queue times get super long when I even approach 5kPS.

And 9kPS is a level that a new player can easily get to within a couple months. There are lots of newish players in that range.

I’m not sure I even understand your comments about the badge system. As far as I can tell, the solo badges have nothing to do with confrontation rating. And there are lots of solo badges to get each week. I still don’t complete all the solo badges, unless I have time off work.
The clan badges aren’t that lucrative, unless you’re in a more hardcore clan and unlock all of them. We usually only get to the third league, so the only clan badges we’re getting are the smaller ones.

There are no new players at PS 9K. That is hardly the ace lobby. If anybody is gatekeeping between the aces and the vets here, it me at PS 6K. I challenge anybody to claim that I’m running seal clubs though. Even at 6K, a lot of people are running way more expensive loads than I am. I sure the hell ain’t pwning anybody, not by any stretch of the imagination, that’s for sure.

By the time we get to 9K, it’s already anything goes, and is truly no place for aces or the unprepared. Anybody without advanced gear will get pwnd hard there, I think.

I think it’s fair to mention that the grind is far worse today than it was too. They just nerfed rewards for every resource in the game, making that wall much taller too.

I know what the game is like at 6K on PC, so I don’t feel sorry for anybody getting pwnd by 420 at 9K. Not in the slightest. In fact, I think it’s funny to see their phat META heaps get clowned by such a naked art build over and over.

I’ve never heard of most of those 9K players listed except for Toufic, who is a good player. Playing 9K just means that a player bought a $30 pack and they can be as new as they come.

Lexi is always hammering the new 9K players, but he is less oppressive than a lot of confrontation Clan A-holes with fused Athenas, Destructors, Cyclones, Stillwinds and Nothungs. At least when he kills someone it is done in an interesting way, with normal gear for the level and with his guns unprotected so everyone has a fair fighting chance against him.

Speaking of which, the only match I’ve had against Lexi, that I remember, it was on Chemical Plant, he was killing someone with his art wheel build with side mounted Retchers and I shot those off with my 15k Omamori Beholder Nothung hover from a safe distance then went and shot someone else. I must have been on a losing streak or something to get put in the 9k lobby.

I mostly play between 9kPS and 12kPS, and I know for a fact that many of the players I kill are newer players, or so casual they might as well be.

Anyway, I thought you don’t play up there, so how would you even know what people face there?

Here’s how I know there are new players at 9kPS:

  • that’s where I’ve been trying to find players for my clan, and so I’ve been looking at profiles
  • I see lots of builds using mismatched BP items. Meaning they haven’t had time to grind full sets of legendary/epic weapons, so they throw together something with whatever they got in the most recent BP to try 9kPS (and then get destroyed by someone like me or Lexi)
  • I saw Rough Monkey grind out a good 9kPS build over his first few days of playing. Yes, he bought a couple cheap packs to get his inventory started, and knows how to make it grow fast, but a normal new player can surely achieve something similar over a few weeks, especially if they buy a single BP.

To be clear, I am not saying that Lexi or me should move to a higher PS, or that you should either. Like you said, anyone who wants to play at any PS level needs to accept the reality of what they will face there. But I also remember how it felt to make my first mid-PS build and get immediately crushed by more experienced players with smarter builds. If I were a different person, I would have quit then.

Edit: as far as whether the devs nerfed rewards, I think you might be misremembering how grindy the game used to be. It is far easier to progress now than it was back in the “get the machine gun” missions. When I started, the grind was ridiculous, but I didn’t care because it was so much fun.

He’s annoying because he knows me and focuses me when he can lol

We had 1 evening where were were in the same matches for a long time, I never noticed them before but perhaps it’s because I’ve only just started playing on EU servers more regularly.

Oh and yeah the hitscan meta has seen me not playing my Retchers at all for a while… It’s too much of a pain to use them with so much hitscan camera steering. It was easier before that when people had to actually control their own builds but now the game does it for them perfectly and corrects mistakes. I stick to my Aegis builds or Helicons for safe distance fighting.

If they buy a load of battlepass items and get trashed then it’s not my problem. They can drop their PS and learn the basics first like we all had to do years ago, the influx of battlepass aces is a developer created issue and I simply don’t care.

Which only shows you don’t really care to begin with and just want to try and discredit me in some way for whatever reason with some fake bs.

What kind of participation trophy bs is this? You went up in PS and it was harder… yeah what did you expect a f-ing red carpet and exposed gas tanks just for you? Deal with it man, with how good I am people should be grateful I don’t use meta builds.

You get riled up so easily!

Never took you to be someone who cares about new players so much!

Stupidity, ignorance and low IQ people get under my skin so congrats I guess

The reason I don’t play up there is because I’ve been there done that, and I don’t really get it. I don’t understand why anybody would want to, and I really don’t understand how noobs would bust out the Visa to run up that ladder to experience it.

Also, it seems like I’d have to bust out my own Visa to swim in those waters, and I just ask myself why bother? I don’t understand the allure.

I’m not interested in legendary guns, I’m only really interested in the build feature, and IDGAF what gun is on it…just as long as it stays on it. To me, one shot gun does the same thing any other does, same with ACs or Cannons. I don’t understand why I should pay more for the next level AC that basically provides the exact same play style as any other AC, but without the ridiculous price tags.

If that top shelf stuff provided for better fits that I could incorporate into my builds more snug and economically, I would probably be more interested. As it is, it just seems like chasing the wind to eat it.

But, since you brought it up, maybe I should bust out my Pink Spider and do another tour.

It’s been a while, and as often as this game’s dynamics change maybe I’ll find something amusing up there. That build sits right above 11K. I’ve had it for a while, and I only really built it because I have the top shelf crap from the Battle Pass, and I felt like I ought to do something with it, right?

It’s not bad at PVP, but I think it’s niche is the levi brawl. I don’t bother with brawls hardly ever, but I did take this in there once. It did surprisingly well, but I wasn’t terribly entertained.

I like wheels better, and the only place I can get those to work is at ultra low power-scores. This crap has no immersion or rider feed back, IMO. Even the sound FX are super toned down and boring. That cab provides an easily forgettable player experience, IMO…works good though…and the legs are pretty. For an omnidirectional movement part, I think I like these best.

But I have to say, the Clan(clone) Warriors are dragging those things all the way down into PS 4K to harvest noobs, and that’s some very cheesy schit, IMO. This game is dick-rich at almost every power-score. They’re going to conjure the nerf-hammer, and maybe that needs to happen.

Anywho…I’ll give 11K a whirl (again). My expectations are very low. Maybe I’ll be surprised.

It went better than I expected. I got MVP…I can’t seem to find the screenshot though (sorry. you’ll have to take my word for it). IDK what happened, so I guess I’ll have to do it again. The other thing is, my scope seemed to glitch out on me half way through the match, and the big-ass gun kept blocking my view for some reason. That screenshot didn’t seem to get recorded either.

I’ll admit, it wasn’t unenjoyable. It’s a little different. Players seem more shy, and instead of Huggin Goblins there were Huggin Gremlins (or did I get that backwards?).

@Roopull The average concurrent usage is about level for a year ago they only lost their gains for the year. Game play has been fine though they split the que’s so you have heli and ground so some are longer than others. Beyond that it’s much the same…Even down to the complaint’s about missiles in heli from the last time they tried it.
