A Good Idea Destroyed by Implementation

I bought a pair of Hyenas to try them out, but didn’t plan on keeping them after seeing the damage was kinda lackluster. I first tried mounting Dracos between them to heat the enemy up, but by that time, the build was moving less than 45 kph, so the Hyenas blades were no longer active.

Then I thought about using the Cerberus cabin, whose perk increases the damage of other melee weapons by 15%, when the grinding nose on the Cerb makes contact with the enemy. So I got the Cerberus cabin and popped on the Hyenas. Well, the idea seemed reasonable, but it doesn’t work. There’s something about the Hyenas that prevents the Cerb’s grinding nose from making contact with the enemy, so the 15% perk never kicks in.

You can see better in this second picture, that the Cerb’s grinding nose is even with the Hyenas, so in theory it should work, but my guess is that when the blades are out and working, they create just enough distance to keep the Cerb’s grinding nose from making contact.

If anyone wants to pursue this concept and can get it to work, lemme know!

I had the same problem, and I also find this to happen with trying to use cerberus with charybdis and harvester.

Or any meelee really, instead of all the meelee parts touching the enemy, it always feels like maybe 1 out of 4 is doing damage at a given time. Sometimes it feels like there’s soem magical angle at which all your meelee guns can touch the side of an enemy and deal no damage.

I imagine these tracks only work just how all meelee weapons only seem to work in this game, if you’ve got boosters.

But yeah the front part of the Cerberus feels extremely designed to never work or make contact with the enemy, and if it ever does, your own build slips on top of the enemy instead of being able to drive against the enemy

…i think i get it…
look at the starting screen pic…they made these things for the oggressor cab…hold forward for (wow) 21% dam…was 30%…

…still not worth it, but, you know…
 :+1: for effort

you are focusing so much in that little detail if you ask me.

They go very fast for a track, they have good durability, they are better than any plow, just in the other day i dragged a team mate out of trouble and i was doing ok. speed wise.
I like the handling, i’m going to buy them
that perk is just a little bonus you won’t miss it.
It’s like a buffed armoured track

i think the point of these hyena tracks is to use a cabin that goes super fast and wont lose speed so easily when it collides with another vehicle to get the max damage out of the perk.
i mean you could use a heavy cabin to and boost the speed with the cheetah for extra speed and power but i think that its mainly used with fast cabins.
also since when does cerberus fit with anything?
