it says here the weapon damage bonus gradually decreases to zero when the projectiles durability reaches 50% … the projectile has durability??
so does this mean its like a cannon round?
cannon rounds deal damage as it passes through parts until it hits a certain threshold then it explodes of fizzles out. is it the same for the thrust?
also this weapon seems pretty useless.
i was up close to someone and fired the weapon right at them. literally wedged someone and i fired and both weapons just didnt do anything, it just bounced off the enemy doing nothing… am i missing something here?
also im really disliking the test prototypes brawl. its just a bunch of people running those stupid triton hyena builds running into people. wheres the fun in that?
i wanted to test it out with the thrust weapons and they just suck. the projectiles are incredibly slow, people can see them coming and they do practically nothing at close range. on top of that its really irritating to just have one of those melee users coming up on you and you not being able to do anything about it. i have seen people trying to use the inquisitor rocket launcher and missing 95% of their shots when trying to hit me. seriously drive sideways around them and they cant hit you lol…
these additions to weapons are just bad and also sad at the same time.
Well… it’s a lot of fun… better yet… more than that, it’s extremely satisfying, one punch and you get through…i’m gonna get those tracks, i like them and they are double purpose.
I think the " tin " says, the Thrust can be used as a melee weapon ( like saws ) or like a thing that you throw into the other build, but if you use as a grinding tool it’s durability is going to decline over time, over use and damage number won’t be as big.
If you throw like fortunes e,g. then the numbers will be bigger.
I tried it and if you grind long enough they will disappear and the reload starts.
Perhaps you wedged the other guy for too long , perhaps they wore out to make any more damage.
I wasn’t too keen on the Thrust thing either. I think the intent is to play it like a Fortune or Doom, but at close range I noticed it just bouncing off the other guy as well. Definately an oddball weapon.
The Thrust clearly has some spotty code plaguing its performance. I also noticed sometimes it just jostles around an enemy build without doing any damage, without you having worn it down any in melee.
i noticed this to… i hit some builds with it before fresh out of the launcher and it just… bounced off… without doing any damage…
it seems like they need to run into it or something for it to do high amounts of damage. i noticed i was getting low amounts of damage at times and sometimes it would wiggle around on a build but do minimal to no damage. its such a strange weapon in the way it deals damage. sometimes builds would run into them and they would only do like 100 damage. sometimes i could get 600+ out of them but that was rare.
they just seem to do odd amounts of damage and effect parts differently. they are incredibly slow, they play like something similar to a mine launcher but they arent a mine launcher. im curious to see how bots interact with them because bots often avoid weapons that act like mines. playing these will be incredibly difficult…
I think what might be happening is that it does melee damage even when launched, so if it hits a bumper that has melee resistance it may do very little damage, and if it hits a part that does melee damage it may get destroyed without doing any damage.
Anyway, I think it’s going to get a big buff, as it’s far too underwhelming. Then again, they’ve released lots of BP items that remained weak for years before being buffed into something that can actually be used.
Occasionally it seems to get caught in the frames of a build and does some real damage, but that’s been pretty rare in the brawl.
I love the idea of the weapon, but I’m probably going to spend my bearings on a second disc launcher instead.
