About Next step

I’m thinking to do this for a while now, it’s just my observations about this mode.
Feel free to add to this.
I don’t know if this will hit it’s audience, but this is the game’s forum, so…
More than the builds itself, players behaver in combat made me to do this.
Today, In one of my teams a team mate SD in front of a adversary, it was the trigger
I know for the most of you, Next step is just an arcade mode full of Helis and Walkers but…

This is meant to be a base line.

SD

1- This isn’t classic mode. There’s only 2 reasons why you should SD in the Next Step

a) you are out of ammo, or about to be out of ammo
b) you are in your last legs

In both cases, you should go the furthest away possible from the combat to do so, and out of sight ( to make the reds waste time going after your orb )
that being said there are some exceptions
and they are :

  • if you are in a Superiority game, then you should go to your base ( the place where you can drop your orb to turn into a point for the team ) while you can, to die there and for your orb to be collected by a team mate rather than a adversary.

  • E.g. ( Example given )
you are about to die, you are near a team mate and your ass is being handed to you both, wait a bit more try to survive a bit more to collect the blue orb of your team mate, that way the other team will gain one point instead of two points.

  • Don’t be shy, in a situation where you have the opportunity to give your orb to a team mate, Honk the horn, if you see you didn’t got his attention, then try to pin him down, then press the backspace, don’t be that guy walking around with the count down already started, you are a Neon sign advertising a free orb.

Superiority games

Two words, Play defensively. protect your base. ( this last two came later )

  • the more you and your team press the other team into their base, the harder it gets, because

  • you have to travel more to reach them or to download your orb

  • your team will lose cohesion fast as their incoming fire becomes denser and deaths starting to take a toll in your team, as your team has to travel more, reinforcements will take more time…it’s a snowball

Let them come to you, or you fight in a middle ground or if you can let the other team go to your door step even better, you will spawn near the action, reinforcements will be quicker to be in place, you will be collecting more orbs and points in a fast succession.
Stay alert of guys trying to steal the orbs o your base, push them out of that little circle, if they manage to steal you have to kill them fast ( without going too far out from your base )
If you can’t, don’t do considerable damage on them, they will drop the orb and SD out of reach.

This is getting long, so…
TLDR.

  • Don’t SD anywhere near a red
  • Play defensively in Superiority games

last things.

If you are not one of those of 2k /3k points consistently players, don’t walk around with collected orbs in Superiority games, as soon as you collect a orb go to base to drop a point for the team.

Stick with your team/ find your team, go with the flow, don’t go out doing your own thing
