Information about the “Adventure” mode

Hello, survivors!

As many of you have learned from the roadmap, we are working on major features that are going to change the Wasteland from “before” to “after”. We plan to release these changes with the upcoming updates!

We also want to inform you that starting from the next update the “Adventure” mode will be unavailable for an unknown period of time due to technical reasons.

Good luck in battles!

Given the obvious and visible problems, this step was expected.

A very old game with too few new players and too many veterans.
Complex vehicle building.
Huge differences in player experience and skill levels.
A strong grind and economy system.
A relatively small player population in some regions.

When a new player feels that:
they lost because they are inexperienced,
they can see that the other player is more skilled, and the system itself is fundamentally fair, then defeat often becomes motivation. The player says: “I’m weak right now, but if I practice, I will get better.”

However, when they feel: “I didn’t lose because I was worse, I lost because the other player had an unfair advantage,” then belief in improvement disappears. From that point on, defeat is no longer seen as a learning opportunity, but as injustice. In Crossout, this is clearly how many players feel.

Because of the way Crossout is designed, it is often difficult for players to determine what they are actually seeing:

a very powerful build,
an experienced veteran,
a server or network issue,
or an unfair advantage, a cheating player.

From the player’s point of view, the conclusion is often simple: they see a cheater…

this is the cause…

A shame, because even after 5 years, I still like putting around in there. Reading between the lines, “unknown period of time” could also mean “effectively gone”.

This is the real reason…
The number of players isn’t growing.
I listed the reasons from the players’ perspective. Users aren’t interested in explanations about what goes on behind the scenes; they care about what they see and experience.

RIP adventure mode.
i hope it comes back but i have a feeling that like terminal-45… we wont be seeing it again… :worried:
