Augers and omnis(Latest patch)

Quad builds were already very slow, so I rarely make them. And when I do, I already accept that they take forever to get moving.

These changes are a disgrace. I can’t reach 70 km/h on bumpy terrain, I can’t maintain any sort of speed when strafing in diagonal arcs. I cant release throttle while steering to immediately brake and pivot steer, now I have to hold S and reverse steer until my build stops completely, then I can pivot steer by reversing my steering again with the right timing.
I fuse my ghost, omnis, and astras knowing they are off meta and they get nerfed to oblivion before the devs have the balls to nerf hovers and spaced armor?
You aren’t getting any more money out of me. I’ll be looking for a new game after mayhem is over because I can’t handle this. I make a new off meta build, have fun with it and fuse it doing really well with it against all the meta builds and then it gets some devastating nerf that changes its controls while nerfing its mobility.
Really cool developers. Learn from valve with CSGO and stop breaking things that work with your stupid changes. And demote the jackass who gets everything nerfed everytime somebody outplays him in his hover with something that isn’t a dog or another hover.

The fun is disappearing from this garbage game short of events.

When did you last have fun playing the game? I don’t think I’ve ever seen you post anything indicating you like the game at all.
Why not just play something else? Your posts make it seem like it’s been years since you enjoyed it.

When I’m having fun I play a lot and clip monster games that I don’t bother to upload and post here. When I cannot deal with something that is terribly unbalanced and entirely frustrating I ragepost in between games. Here I’m bothered and about to quit because targem had to go and drop the hammer on my playstyle for the 2nd time with some crazy uncalled for nerf disguised as a fix. My augers are still garbage compared to what they were before omnis got added. They still got the turning radius of a boat and nonexistent acceleration when pressing more than 2 inputs.
Theres nothing else for me to adapt to and play except for hovers at this point, and I got sick of those after fighting them everywhere in missions and using them in CW.

I too have done the unthinkable , looked for another devteam that is worth my cash and time .
I will stay clear from ā€œfreetoplayā€ for the most part as well , call me oldskool but it would be refreshing to just pay for a game instead of constantly having to make the choice is this still worth it. There is one game I will support in early access , and again I am so done with predatory market model . We all understand they have got to pay the bills somehow , but like with everything there is limit before it generates a feeling of being used/abused .
I think most of us here have payed for this game to be what it was , not what it is becoming .
About these changes that are pushed on us , before there would be a more careful attitude , now I feel like a mobile gaming devteam have taking over xo . Like the handbrake trick , they once tried to implement it and quickly decided to remove it , but today they seem to care less about the backlash. I reduced my play to 1/10 and if it continues in this direction which I expect it will it could go down to 0. Omni and augers 360 turning are a joke now just like small tracks . There is just no way this was thoroughly tested . Good luck out there

Spent some time playing both today, and I have mixed feelings.

I miss the diagonal speed burst, but the smoothness almost makes up for it. I think both could use a power drain reduction, and a tonnage buff.

I didn’t have an auger build in the rotation, so I tossed together a gremlin thing. Felt pretty good for a heavy close range build:

I only use 6 on my BC-17 sideways build. I cannot agree with you more.

i run 4 omnis on a torero with i think its a power fused hardcore … very underweight but still get slowed down to almost 30 km going up some hills

Anyone notice that the break lights when used with these movement parts seem to be reversed? Noticed it last night the break lights being on while moving and off while stopped.

It is impossible to recreate these moves now, like there was anybody doing them to begin with. Anybody saying omnis are better now is just bad at playing them because they don’t brake properly now, they are sluggish as hell when being driven at all, and worse than legs when playing them like a strafing movement part. But oh nice they are smooth when going from W to E. Cool, that smoothness means I can’t drive around a corner, brake, and start immediately pivot steering to engage someone. Instead I veer around it like an absolute moron that forgot where the brake pedal is. If I want to brake and then pivot I now have to hold s and steer in the opposite direction and then reverse my steering direction again as soon as I come to a stop hoping my controls dont glitch out leaving me steering in the wrong direction anyways.

This is what they do now when I try to flip my vehicle 180 and go from forwards to reverse while maintaining my direction: Omnis are broken - YouTube
They literally gutted the skill out of these parts. I used to constantly do that same maneuver without going below 70. Now its impossible to do without dropping to 30.
Meanwhile hovers can literally spin 360 degree circles steering faster than everything in the game while flying in a straight line at 80+ km/h.

This is one of the builds that stays in my rotation & has been constantly improved over a very long time… probably years. It’s obviously not a PVP build… I use it for the hard & normal raids.
Quad Augers - 2 fused
Beholder - fused
3 Arbiters
Aurora
Seal - fused
Shiver - fused
Hot Red - fused
Doppler - fused
Thor - fused (aren’t they all?)

This is really my only rig using the augers, and I honestly love it. For raids, having the augers on the outside & out front, spinning the rig when surrounded by lil’ bots makes the melee of the augers a great little addition.

After the update, I honestly am not having much of a problem with it. It was never fast, but does seem to be less quirky in the handling, which is nice. I’ll have to play with it more to see if I notice the increase in spread while strafing.

I’ve been testing a variety of auger and omniwheel builds, and I’m not having any huge problems.
Not seeing this uphill slowdown thing, although it does seem acceleration stops when going uphill. As long as I’m already moving, hills don’t slow me down.

Also, as long as you pay attention to not reverse direction all at once, I’m not even losing speed while turning/strafing. The key seems to be to always change to an adjacent direction: if going forward, add strafe, then release gas, then add reverse to the strafe, then release strafe. Sometimes a bit hard to keep track of, but become natural the more you play them.

Big improvement of the smoother controls is that it’s improved my aim a lot. More predictable movement is good for shooting.

That`s your fault for not using hovers

Definitely messed them up , This Dev is all about Negative . All the items that has been balanced had some sort of negative effect… The Omni wheels go 20mph up hill

I find I cannot START moving on a hill with the big Auger build I posted earlier. If I’m already moving, like you said, I’m fine. If I’m sitting still… yeah nah. I’m stuck. Literally stuck. It’s more like a traction issue. It needs to be fixed, honestly, because on certain maps, it’s devastating.

I wonder if movement parts have their own ā€œimpacted by massā€ parameter like we recently found out cabins have.
I haven’t had that experience myself, and my heavy build is much heavier than yours.

Played my heavy auger/omniwheel build for an hour tonight, and still not having any significant problems with hills. I even tried stopping on a few hills and restarting with no issues.

Yes. For every ground movement part. Basically you either slow down while moving uphill or can’t move at all. I’m gonna test it on a few more wheels just to be sure they fudged up good this time.

Probably just slowly making room for legendary movement parts. lol
