Since Ravager is making their comeback, I would like to discuss with one of the structural parts that were released when Ravagers first made their grand entrance to the Valley.
Specifically speaking, the “Tendinis” frame part.
Here are 2 of those frames put together side by side. Noticed anything in particular?
Let me spill it out for you: there is a 2 by 1 gap between them, at least in this particular orientation (the other side away from the camera, unfortunately, got metal slanted outward and prevented the passage).
So naturally one would assume it can nestle a 1 by 1 pieces next to it, right?
inhales
NOPE.
As you can see here, the slope piece cannot nestle between the 2 by 1 gaps of both Tendinis, because the game see the entire frame as a solid object.
Targem, if you’re still reading, please consider buffing the Tendinises by allowing them to slightly clip with structure parts. I’m not even asking for extra wielding points, but it will be cool if I can hide a hologram underneath that Itty-bitty space.
i believe that was on purpose because of something that happened in the past with guns. i dont have a pic of it but someone made a build where a gun was clipping through the top of an armor piece but could also still fire. this lead to people complaining about it because it was unfair and overpowered so they had to take measures to prevent that. i think they feared it might also happen for this part to sooooo…
from what i remember someone was using a long build like you see some of the bots with cyclones using. instead they were using arbiters and they had it in a way where the armor clipped through the barrel of the gun but the top of the gun (where it fires from) was exposed so it could still fire despite armor that shouldve been blocking it. so essentially it blocked off half of the gun at the bottom but the firing hole was still exposed so they could fire. people raised a fuss about it and from what i remember it got nerfed so it couldnt do that anymore.
i do agree though that there should be some room there to mount something to surround it with armor but just so long as you cant cheese it to fire through the object then it should be fine.
i think they did it that way for a reason though since the game is based on cubes, or rather blocks?? unsure how to put it.
