Bots with relic weapons

Thank you for your valuable input, i will keep it mind in my next games and see if it is true.

I don’t get why people don’t. A radar costs no energy, can be used as armour, and helps me avoid being sniped (and of course helps me snipe back).
And I know when you’re pushing against the 80 part limit it might be hard to justify a radio, but otherwise it’s still going to help your team play together better.

When I’m playing fast vehicles, I don’t typically stay with my team, and will probably be probing closer to the enemy. Using a radio means I’m helping scout for my team’s long range players. And when I find an isolated victim and attack, there’s a good chance the other fast vehicles will join in on the kill, and we can start rampaging as a pack.
They’re also really useful at the end of close games, when no one has any radar left and we need to kill that last enemy before the clock runs out.

I see a lot of verifiers and dopplers in higher PS, but not so many radars. And given the lack of map info I get from my team, it doesn’t seem like many people run radios in any PS range.

Radios only transmit to 450m range

Ive been using this radar for the last half decade on all my builds, no radio required

maybe you need to increase the size of your minimap in options :cowboy_hat_face:

450 meters is almost half a kilometre. And I was under the impression that is added to the distance of whatever radar or detector you are using, but I might be wrong about that.

I prefer to run a Doppler or maxwell, but some setups don’t leave enough energy for that, so I’ll just run a keen and a radio in those situations, or a listener if I’m trying to keep my PS low.

With long range builds I might run a verifier and a keen.

If I’m running a Doppler or maxwell, the radio is really just for redundancy anyway. If I lose my detector, I can at least still let my team know what I’m seeing near me.

Has anyone ever tested whether the radio’s transmission radius is added to whatever else you are running, or is 450 meters the maximum possible?

yep radio range does not add to the radars range, ditch that 216 ps keen radar + 65 ps radio combo totaling 281 PS and cant detect players behind cover, all you need is a 2x2x2 431hp, 275 ps doppler :joy_cat:

I agree that Doppler is the best, but not always possible.
I stand by my viewpoint that it’s still wise to tuck a radio under your frame as a backup, even if it doesn’t increase the range.
And for long range builds, I’m pretty sure keen is the only one that can see across the map. So if I’m playing Kaiju, I’m probably running a keen over a Doppler.

Keen radar is 600m but doesnt detect in cover, im sure you noticed this and seeing as there are many obstacles blocking line of sight in every map, i dont see much use for this radar part when you can have a doppler with upgraded range and a falcon co driver for even more range.

I hadn’t actually thought about how much doppler’s range could be extended. What would the maximum be with it fused and the co-driver boost?
I just know that an unfused one doesn’t have quite enough range for really long range sniping, and I would generally be using Jay with those builds for the projectile speed boost.

Edit: also, you keep ignoring the energy cost. With some weapon setups, it’s just not possible to run a Doppler without sacrificing either DPS or mobility.

I guess it depends on your build and playstyle, personally i play by the minimap until enemies get too close, and for 1 energy having a good situational awareness saved me many times.

Keen is invaluable for triple Cyclones/Stillwinds/Whirlwinds because those builds take 16 points of energy and you need the red HUD to see across the map (Or at least I do). I also throw it on whenever I have some free weight on my builld as it is free armor.

The blue zero energy radar, when fused is also good as it weighs a lot less than a Keen.

Sometimes it’s fun to put all your energy into pure firepower. In those cases, you can’t run a radar detector.

Which reminds me, I need to try a triple executioner build. Dual builds just don’t hit hard enough to be satisfying.

I do this a lot.

When playing CWs only one guy needs Doppler. It’s a waste to have it on every build.

It’s just another marketing ploy to hype up how epic their relics are in the hopes that someone is stupid enough to pump enough money into the game to buy one or to get a build suitable to farm for one eventually

basically to get players to spend real life money

FYI, this is what happens to a team without doppler when faced with a team that has a doppler player like me.

That literally proves nothing. Hell, you cant even proce they didnt have a radar. Lol, just dumb on that one derpy.

You are right the picture only proves one team was much better than the other, but i find myself in the better team in so many games with my trusty upgraded doppler.

I looked for D-squawk on the losing team in that picture but didn’t see him so now I am wondering why he’s so hostile

haha

some humans just want to discredit others it seems

Some humans are just miserable and want to make others that way, got a few on this forum

DHawk216 does make a valid point tho, with only a screenshot picture many players wont believe what i said…but ive been around here for a long long time, since before hovers and wedge builds existed, ive been a troll on these forums, ive been a friend to some, and a nemesis to others, but most of the old guard know i dont speak with deception in mind.

So i suggest you try it for youself DHawk216, put a doppler on your car and see if your team benefits from it.
