I think you left out the word “HOPEFULLY”… ![]()
The daily challenges still need completed.
The daily challenges still need completed.
that’s why as soon as I get the last 6 patch daily done I instantly log off, no matter how ugly my battle history looks.
I would argue the final nail into the Robocraft coffin was the removal of the in-game economy where one will have unlimited access of any parts once unlocked. They literally shot the only reason people will buy lifetime premium, dead.
Freejam could’ve also keep the loot crate and add a pity system (like how chinese gacha games have done in comply with some bullshit EU laws) so that people have an expected probability of drops.
For the case of Crossout, I would argue that reducing team size is also part of dumbing down the game, because you’re now dealing with less enemy at the cost of less supports, and you’re now forced to run either extremely min-maxed builds to max out your own survivability, or run glass cannons with aegis (such as a pair of doom on a Porsche, lol).
I’ll stay out of this BFU until 8vs8 is being put back. The recent SteamDB data suggested the active players of Crossout had dropped below 2000, if this doesn’t speak volume at Targem, nothing will.
Also, i kinda like 6v6, the reason why i hated random battles is because you get a team full of braindead sheepies so 3-6 players from your team get <40 score. 6v6 makes things slightly easier since you can actually salvage the bad teammates situation, and your individual performance actually matters.
BUT, there are two caveats
-
The reason why devs added 6v6 is because the game is dying, there is roughly 3000-5000 CCU across all modes and PS ranges, which is worrying.
-
Matchmaker still doesn’t know the difference between a full party and 2 player party, and since there your personal performance is more impactful, having a full party as enemies is a death sentence unless you’re also a full party. Especially since matchmaker rarely tries to math groups by playercount (team 1 has a full group, team 2 has 2 groups of 2 players).
So it’s possible to have team 1 with 4 solo players + group of 2, while team 2 has a full group + 2 solo players
It’s actually vice versa.
I love CC / BFU because you can effectively “sell the sheepie” there. “a sheepie” is a bad player. Since they suck, the game rigs the match in their favour by introducing a strong player (or a few of them) in the same team.
Now, they do jackshit directly, but at least if the enemy focuses their fire on the sheepie, they don’t deal damage to you. So you can use that to remove an enemy or two with no cost to your build.
You just need to degun / destroy 2 enemies by selling your sheepies and then it’s reasonable to win 1v2, even if sheepies did literally <1000 damage (not in a particular part but spread all over the enemy build).
This is impossible to do in 8v8 matches, since you need to degun / destroy 5 enemies (and that much degunned enemies could easilly just ram you to death, sooo…), assuming sheepies somehow managed to destroy a single enemy. Yes, a single enemy - you can’t be everywhere at once, meaning that if you sell your sheepie for a single enemy, there are still 7 more enemies that probably by that time destroyed 2 or 3 of your sheepies.
It means something like this is pretty common:
- Team 1 has 1 good player and 7 sheepies.
- Team 2 has 3 good players and 4 sheepies (with a bad winrate)
In this case the game arranged 4 sheepies with a bad WN into a team that would win 90% of the time. Team 1 usually has sheepies that have more WN so they can get a lose or two. If you’re a good player on team 1 you basically can leave as there’s no chance of winning.
In 6v6, i can somewhat salvage this, since i need to only degun / destroy the same 2 enemies by selling my sheepies; in this case the sheepies will actually have a good chances of destroying 2-3 enemies instead of 1. Why? Less enemies = less damage and less spots on the map where you recieve that damage, so your sheepies don’t die as much or as fast.
TL,DR: If you’re a sheepie you could be hard carried by rigged matches in 8v8, but in 6v6 or 4v4 a competent player could win the rigged match by pure skill. So a sheepie needs to actually git gud in this case and actually do /something/ to win even if the match is rigged in their favour
Sheepies need love too… ![]()

Every single BfU season i feel like this

So what was the point of all games going 6vs6 last week?, when its now back to 8vs8 normal.
Will it stay 8vs8…the poll they had afterwards seemed like it was expounding on the virtues of 6vs6.
It wouldn’t stay 8v8. If you judge on an unofficial statistic, there’s about ~35% of players on Steam, looking into Steamcharts there’s on average 1300 players online for almost 6 months. So basically it’s about 4k players online.
Also BfU’s get 10-12k players that tried it at least once, having 12k unique players over a week is nothing.
Keep in mind that more than half (probably 2/3?) are on <7k PS range. The rest (9+k PS players) are scattered across CW, BfU, CC, arcade, raids and so on. The game is dying and they are trying to prolong its suffering lol, people were complaining that going 9k PS matches you with 12-14k PS players and that was also for about half a year
oh okay i was mistaken, this is happening for almost 2 years now and GMs basically said “liar liar pants on fire and that’s a feature”
Seemingly the vast majority like the 6v6, now ques are quicker. And 2 less players is easy to adapt too. Heck i’m on Xbox and when it went to 6v6 i literally didn’t even notice.
But PC has more going for it than console version.
