Well, we got one after a long time of none, but sadly you need to cough up coins for a steppe spider cabin as in this one it’s the must-have part to even participate, or buy the steppe pack that is oh so conveniently on sale right now.
But sadly to those who already have the cabin and are thinking of joining, this is also one of those competitions where the winner gets made into a pack they’ll be selling on the store every now and then, so you can’t really go “all in” on the building, because sure as heck the winner won’t be anything that gives the players too many good parts. But at the same time, limiting yourself into making a “not too good of a coin maker build with just a few ok parts” makes you miss out on votes, because the builds with “sensible” amounts of good parts will definitely loose in votes to those builds that were made by people who did not read the fine print and just made a build with a steppe spider cabin. And yet at the same time, they can’t let a build like that win because then they’d end up with a pack that just gives too many good items for players on purchase so yeah good luck on trying I guess.
I have the coins for a Steppe Cabin, but all of this going on in the background of this “competition” just makes me not want to participate

Thanks for letting us know this is happening. And while I agree somewhat with your complaints, I also think it makes sense for these contests to have some restrictions and parameters, and the very nature of this competition is always going to favour people with deep inventories of parts.
I’ve already got a Steppe, so I’m definitely going to come up with something, and hopefully this time I follow the naming instructions correctly so that my entry actually gets counted.
Also, Steppe Spider is really good with all missiles now, and is a great cabin if you are using missiles. Makes a huge difference with some, and improves performance of all the ones it applies to. It’s definitely a worthwhile investment.

I’m actively boycotting playing with it, because of how hard it’s being forced as the only cabin to play with missiles of any kind, to the point that my Dusk-using sideways Pyre build got screwed over just so you have to now also use Steppe Spider on such builds, rather than the Dusk, which was only made to make sideways pyre builds to begin with.
Seriously my username. I hate how the many flaws and shortcomings of rockets etc are never going to be solved or addressed because the devs can just say “Well Steppe Spider exists” and pump the missile perk even stronger

There are so many other cabins that work well with missiles though. Steppe works with almost all of them, but there are plenty of other options that just aren’t missile specific.
I’ve got at least six other cabins that work well with at least some missiles, and I’m not even counting Dusk.

Hey all,
Great Topic by the way!
So, I went to vote today in the exhibition and noticed that several of the vehicles seem to come up way more times. I counted one vehicle showed up more than 7 times while some come up rarely or 1 time.
Example: To vote for the vehicle I created it took over 15 minutes before it showed up. While others came up time and time again.
I just wanted to ask if anyone else noticed this feature?
Thanks

I’ve noticed that in the past, and have no explanation.
Although I do know that true random number generators are hard, so maybe it’s something to do with that?

I’ve noticed that too, my working (only) theory is that it shows more of the builds that have already gotten some votes or more votes than others, and then less popular (less overall votes) after you keep clicking for more builds repeatedly
The only reason for this theory I have is that usually, especially after a few days, the builds that pop up a lot more than others are usually also very cool looking, and then after a bit more clicking you start to see worse builds, like builds that are not going to win anything

Thanks Fugg and Poony,
I appreciate both of your gift of insight and taking a moment to comment!
You guys rock the Kasbah!

Yep I’ve seen this in the past. One time it took me 45 minutes just to see my own entry…and another half hour to see my friends’ entries. In the meantime, I saw several other builds multiple times. Ehh…

Thanks Purple,
I appreciate your comments. Man 45 minutes! Dude that sucks big time!
Makes my 15 minutes seem like peanuts!

I wonder what kind of a build they choose, not as the winner, but as a pack to be added
I see a lot of people aiming for that rather than winning the Clash itself. I wonder if the one added to the store is a Cricket, Pyre, Snowfall or Nest build, those are the main three options people aiming for the pack seem to go for
Or it could be something completely different, like a Steppe Spider build using no missiles at all, we all know how some of the packs they sell in the store are like.
I’d guess a Nest build rather than a snowfall one since they already have a pack with snowfalls (christmas truck) but on the other hand decisions concerning this game always find a way to surprise in the most mind baffling ways imaginable
