Oh no I agreed earlier than their durability + Finwhale was the main factor for bricks. What I mean is, acceleration arguably buffs ranged wheeled gameplay much more than melee/CQC wheeled gameplay, because the latter just cares about covering the ground quickly, and spends much less time maneuvering/stopping/reversing and will mostly juke shots with erratic steering rather than with forward/backward jerky motions.
I believe reducing the dura of epic wheels but increasing their accel significantly would help to equalize the performance of ranged wheeled and CQC wheeled builds.
We need friendly fire damage !!!
I agree with this, but I also question whether this is needed. Some movement parts suit certain playstyles better than others, and I see that as a feature of the game, not a problem.
80% of building is figuring out what parts work well with other parts. If there is no advantages to certain combinations, we might as well be using preset builds.
And as you said earlier, the people who do use ranged weapons on wheels probably enjoy the differences.
At mid PS, I’m seeing lots of people successfully playing some ranged weapons on wheels, especially on small light cars. Building that way already gives you the acceleration advantage, and they don’t seem to need the reverse so much.
No, we don’t. This is for campers who think the only way to counter the rush is by slamming it into reverse (please stop it), but who for some strange reason don’t just move over to small tracks, or any one of the Omnidirectional movement parts that already allow much greater speed in reverse.
I don’t feel sorry for them. They like to just sit on the hill drinking a beer, and eating chips, while taking pot-shots at those of us in the mosh-pit. Slackers.
We don’t want diagonal steering either. The drift is Lord…but if they wanted to release a new wheel, with no non-steering compliment that steered diagonally, I wouldn’t be against that. I wouldn’t use it either, but whatever…lazy-ass campers.
The wheeled long range players that I see doing well don’t rely on reverse, because they usually shoot sideways, which means they can escape a rush by driving forwards. If they want to escape by using a fast reverse, we have many kinds of tracks, hovers, omniwheels, atoms, augers, several kinds of legs.
No need to make all parts behave the same.
I’d be ok with them adding a new wheel that could drive diagonally, but there’s absolutely no reason to make all wheels behave the same as all the other omnidirectional parts. Don’t ruin wheels for the rest of us, just because you refuse to use any of the many omnidirectional parts that are available to us.
And if you think wheeled close range builds are already too strong, what do you think is going to happen if the fastest movement parts also have the advantage of omnidirectional movement? There are already enough people using omniwheels like that, and they’ve got a speed cap.
As far as epic wheel durability goes, I believe that the devs have been trying to make cars-that-look-like-cars more viable for several years now, in response to people like me who really enjoy playing fast four wheel builds.
And if you play those types of builds, you know that dewheeling is still very much a risk for that kind of build, even when using Bigfoots. I rarely finish a match with all my wheels intact. All wheels pop off easily from collisions, especially when you’re trying to play a close range build.
When I read some comments on the forum, it’s very clear to me that some people here do not play a diverse range of builds, and definitely don’t play the builds that they complain about.
Yes. I wish more players would realize that, but I can’t tell you how many times they predictably don’t and just slam it in reverse…Oh-well. That’s job security for me. Despite me bagging on kids for camping like lounge-lizards, my favorite gig is to guard them (discretely and hidden) and then pick up the kills that the rush they inevitably provoke provides. Nothing lures them out of the pack better than a cannon sniper camping on the hill…delicious.
I certainly love to vigorously complain with maximum hyperbole about this or that, but I do like to give those “OP” builds a swing sometimes (if I can afford it) just to see for myself what all the commotion is about.
I still think melee is mostly cheap cheese, but I have more respect for hover-jockeys as a result…I need to build another cheese-grinder melee mauler for my roster. I know it’s evil and weak, but it’s on the menu anyway.
It’s just fine.
But i wish… for a ram fest it’s weaker, probably due to the nerf to ram parts.
Piles ups. blocking even.
Was a major good first impression that crossout made to my person, i couldn’t believe.
3 or 4 years i spent in a game where was the opposite.
campers, fucking campers with tanky and beefy builds taking pot shots from kms away, then i arrive here and it was beautiful.
Here you weren’t left hanging out to dry, in crossout your team mates would came and drop on the others merciless, to a point where i couldn’t even shoot, this game was so awesome.
Now i don’t think that way…that much.
But i still love it.
Just yesterday i pinned down a bigger build than mine in rock city map, just enough to my team mates shoot him, i just let it go when he started to auto destruct.
Just build a heavy enough build for the class and you will be fine.
Ram speed full steam ahead
