* Crossout turns 9! What to expect in the upcoming May update

When I look at their numbers, it’s hard not to be concerned. They don’t even post announcements to their own forum. You could say the game is already dead, but they do seem pretty active in development though, and the latest update looks good at least on paper.

I’m still downloading it, so IDK.

without an update every few months the steam charts would show 3k monthly players

That’s dead. Last month there were days were it struggled to top 2K, and it almost dipped below 1K (might have, IDK)…that’s pretty lifeless, IMO. This game went into a coma shortly after it was released and has been quite the sleeper ever since. It’s certainly had it’s moments, and it’s been a hoot sometimes, but IDK. It could be better.

I also think the steam charts may have been manipulated a bit by the forced accounts they used for the last leaderboard… surely a % of those accounts that they counted as “logging in” were from Steam and the % increase in the last 30 day says +37% !? Yeah I’m not buying that it’s legit… the last time we had such an increase was a merge with the Chinese players.

i dont know, maybe because nobody cares. i mean even listing your closed beta release date as an anniversary date is weird. its like when monkey and others claimed they were playing for x years, longer than the game was even live. supposed to make you seem bigger i guess.

nobody noticed it here either so it checks out.

i think so too.

it wasnt a merge, the one chinese guy literally said here they had just shut down chinese servers, no profile migration to the non chinese crossout.

it was mere speculation as the game grew like 200% within the span of a week, adding 6k concurrent players, again within a week.

those 6k players werent chinese, i dont even think they were human.

you can take a look at what is happening to team fortress 2. i would fully believe that crossout has botted players

A blast from the past, 1 June 2017…

Two years since testing began

Greetings, survivors!

It feels like we only just launched the game’s alpha version, and today the gates of the Wasteland have already opened to everyone! Today we would like to remember the main milestones in the project’s life.

So, 2 years ago we introduced our first players to closed alpha testing. 2 months later (June 26), the official site was launched, and we managed to visit the two largest gaming shows - E3 in Los Angeles and Gamescom in Cologne, Germany.

On August 21 we opened the first Battle Test of the game, which lasted until September 9. New players not only quickly learned the mechanics of Crossout, but also began to actively create, use and share their creations.

The next important stage was Battle Test 2, which lasted almost 3 months. Having given access to more players, we also actively conducted contests, including the best PvE mode script contest.

‘Kv220M’ from ‘Battle Test 2’ by RobokcShow

On December 21, 2015, Battle Test 3 was launched, which saw a lot of changes introduced into the game. The biggest change was the introduction of factions that players could join as they progressed through the game.

The second major innovation was a complete revision of the repair system - only the parts of the most complex type could become worn out (weapons, equipment, etc.).

‘Aspid’ from ‘Battle Test 3’ by BadTANK

The last stage of the Battle Test lasted until April 5. It was on this day that we launched the Closed Beta Test. During the transition to this stage of the game’s development, we added a new map ‘Founders Canyon’, and players were given the opportunity to build and launch into battle the formidable ‘Leviathans’ - powerful armoured vehicles.

‘Light command vehicle’ from ‘CBT’ by Tugodoomer

During CBT, we launched servers in the US and Canada, introduced three full-fledged game modes, updated the components system, added support for clans, and finally introduced a ranked battles system.

May 30, 2017 marked a truly significant date in the history of Crossout — the long-awaited start of Open Beta-Testing.

Crossout is constantly improving and changing in many ways thanks to you - the players who participated throughout the project’s testing.

I swear if this is an old masty skin…

yes its the old mastodon model

NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

It looks like it should be a legendary Elephant variant.

Thay cannon would be useless in that setup compared to the ones they have now. Creating an aiming gap for 4 barrels that looks to be a literal 20 blocks wide with 2 side by side? Wouldnt be pretty

Thats why that thing doesnt get armored

I’ve armored it. Works fine with hovers.

that turret certainly would be in game but thanks to the devs genius strategy, it would be way too fun to cost less than 500 real life dollars per
