Mad fire at the door! New features of the major February update. Part 1

Hello, survivors!

The “Forced measure” season is coming to an end. The joint attack of the Lunatics and Engineers on Aris has borne fruit. Now the Ravagers’ enemies know where to find the key component necessary for Aris’s plan. The signal sent by Stahl is still online, so the Lunatics and Firestarters are setting out to find answers to very important questions.

Khaganate is once again at the center of the season, so get ready to use crazy fiery weapons and modules. In the first part of the entry, we’ll talk about the legendary medium cabin and melee weapons, as well as take a look at the new frame sizes. Let’s dive in!

We remind you that all the new features described in the “Developer blog” are not final and may be changed before they are introduced into the game or may not make it into the game at all. This also applies to all visual materials.

Legendary medium cabin

It’s been a while since we had a Firestarters’ season. In the first entry, we’ll take a closer look at the new medium cabin from the connoisseurs of the flames. Although this cabin in particular is designed to help you cool down faster and catch your breath in the heat of battle. Even the Firestarters need to unwind sometimes.

The cabin passively increases the reload speed and cooldown rate of weapons. It also accumulates up to ten charges as damage is dealt with any weapon. When the perk is activated, the reload and cooldown rates are further increased for each accumulated charge for a certain period of time. The best thing is that the accumulated charges are not spent. Firestarters crafted the first cabin in the Wasteland that improves its active perk for the whole duration of a battle.

Legendary melee weapon

Do you know what a railroad wheelset is? You’re about to find out. It sounds like something heavy and very painful. You definitely don’t want one of those things flying towards your cabin. But what about launching one yourself? In short, the Lunatics are true to form.

The weapon fires special physical objects, railroad wheelsets, that inflict ram damage upon impact. Yes, that’s not a typo. Ram damage from a distance. Finally! Need we say more?

But that wasn’t enough for the Lunatics. The new weapon can also be used at melee range. Just drive up close to an enemy and start hitting them. However, it’s not that simple. While the wheelset is hitting an opponent, its durability reduces and its damage in projectile form goes down. If you use it as a melee weapon for a long time, you can completely grind down the projectile, and the weapon will go into reload mode. To melee or not to melee? That is the question.

New frames

This time, we have standard and heavy frames for you in the following sizes: 3x4, 3x6, as well as a nodal frame 8х2х4.

Please note that after the season ends, you will be able to get the new frames at a workbench for Engineer badges.

And this is only the beginning! The fire will light the way to the next blog entry, which will be here soon. Stay tuned.

Could this be perhaps the cab to make reloading weapons great again? Hopefully it’s not the next Nox for NoxScorp hovers now that Nox on Scorp got nerfed. Oh well all the Scorphomos are playing Coraxes atm anyway

Now this is interesting, I hope it’s high energy rather than low, like max 2 on a build or even only one (avalance etc energy cost). Other option would be high energy so you can only run one on a build, but not too high so you can add a few meelee weapons or ranged weapons with it to compliment the gun. Ranged meelee is pretty new and I think this is a weapon after a long while of which I am very interested in, it’s something very new. Nice to see something unique rather than just legendary version of an epic weapon or Cyclones but shotgun or Slaughterer but no holding down firing button

Very interested in this concept, hope it works nice and also isn’t the blatant op weapon of the pass that gets nerfed to the ground after the season ends. A nice new idea and fair to use weapon would be sick

Would be interesting if you could launch other stuff, like old air conditioners or abandoned car doors you find while riding around the Adventure map…sorta like a giant Junkbow. Let’s face it, you’re only gonna find so many train wheelsets in the Wasteland.

What a great way to start a new battle pass with a cool looking cabin and very weird weapon that makes me want one right away. Can you imagine having this placed behind you while you’re getting away and dropping it like a mine. Kind of like the cinderblock dropping weapon in a game called Interstate 76.

Could we get some CKs again for older items to give them a new look? Instead of just frames as filler…

We better be able to mount that minelayer like porcs

The video posted online of that new melee weapon looked pretty cool.
I saw it on their instagram account, if anyone wants to see it in action.
I hope it’s part of a BP and not a pack or relic weapon.

can u post the vid here ?

It most likely will work similar to porcs in the way that you can mount or undermount them. It looks like there is 1 free space of hitbox clearance for the projectiles to clear so you can most likely mount it under the cab in the exact same way you can do with the porcupine if not better. This looks like you might even be able to undermount them even on low wheeled builds as well due to the smaller size, the dimensions of the porc is 4x4 x4 and this new weapon looks more like 4x3x2

I have no idea how to post an Instagram video here. I barely use Instagram, so it’s a complete fluke I even saw it.

Sorry!

link ?

From what I saw in the video, you could probably undermount it, but you need to have it sticking out if you want to use it as a melee weapon. Makes more sense to think of them as mini harvesters that you can launch at enemies as well as grinding on them up close.

Hopefully this link works:

You can prob do both like you said, you can’t do that with porcs unless you want your porcs getting destroyed by self inflicted damage but with this new melee weapon then it shouldn’t be a problem by the looks of it.
