Steppenwolfs are ready for battle. New features of the major August update. Part 1

Hello, survivors!

The “Rogue mind” season is coming to an end. Wade has managed to escape Aris and ended up in your garage, and the Ravagers have gathered power with the help of new parts. However, this attracted the Brotherhood’s attention: the military organization is not very fond of the machines getting stronger. Steppenwolfs have assembled their best squads and set out to make a surprise attack and stop the Ravagers.

The wolves had to acquire new modules to counter the new technology of the Ravagers. The first blog entry will be about their new legendary medium cabin and epic frontal wheel, as well as various frames of different sizes. Let’s dive in!

We remind you that all the new features described in the “Developer blog” are not final and may be changed before they are introduced into the game or may not make it into the game at all. This applies not only to information about possible unique features of new parts, but also to the appearance of the parts themselves

Legendary medium cabin

The Steppenwolfs’ machines are famous for their smart design that allows for almost anything to be transported. Their cabins are very different from Syndicate’s small light cabins, for instance. The new medium cabin is capable of enhancing the explosive potential of ammunition and saving the driver from worrying about the finite nature of ammo packs.

As any weapon deals damage, the cabin’s perk accumulates charges up to a certain number. When activated, it increases the blast radius of the projectiles and also stops using ammunition when firing. The duration of the perk depends on the number of accumulated charges.

Epic frontal wheel

There’s something special and cool about the frontal wheels. They are just like regular wheels but… Frontal! And the word “front” is also very dear to the Steppenwolfs, so the ruthless warriors have prepared a new addition to the technological branch of these movement parts.

The new wheel increases the maximum speed of the armoured vehicle, as well as its reverse speed and power, if there are no enemies within a certain radius. Each enemy within the radius reduces the bonuses until they are completely lost.

New frames of the upcoming season

This time, you can expect new standard and heavy frames of the following sizes: 5x1, 5x3, and an L-shaped 5x3 frame.

Please note that after the season ends, you will be able to get the new frames at a workbench for Engineer badges. This also applies to frames introduced in the current season, “Rogue mind”

And this is only the beginning! See you in the next entry, coming very soon. Stay tuned

Steppenwolfs are wimps. I never see them in Bedlam when the action’s hot.

nice wheels…
:yum:

Steppenwolfs, were my first faction that I grooved too. I like the military vibe of the legendary cabin. Really awesome in the bits and bobs that are located on the cabin. The details are just the thing that catches my fancy.

Designs look nice but the perks just scream “What’s the point?”

Like the Cabin. You get more blast radius, and stop using ammo, but the Harpy already exists that boosts ammo to a level where you won’t run out of ammo anyway. And it also has a constant +blast radius perk, and it is not that impressive on any weapons honestly. Especially the ones where you want it to make some difference, like rockets, missiles, grenades and basically all weapons that rely heavily on explosions. Explosions and explosive damage as a whole just plain sucks. And flat out damage boosting does way better than explosion radius boosting on any weapon that has explosions. Maybe it will be usable on an autocannon, but there are already some pretty good cabs for autocannons outside this thing. All I am reading on paper is that it’s a higher ps worse Harpy with maybe +1 energy. Maybe you can make beefier builds with it, but once again, other better cab exist

Same on the wheels, It’s fast when there are no enemies around. Yeah good luck trying to stay that way with wheels. Is this meant for long range sniping builds? They are already all running Nox Hovers on Icarus 7 that is already fast enough at keeping away from the enemy. Like it’s a neat idea but…it’s toast the moment any build catches up to you and you won’t have the utility of omnidirectional movement, that all long range builds usually need to have a fighting chance

The cab and wheels, below mid at first impression

I am very excited about the Legendary Harpy cabin. Harpy Fortune is one of my favorite builds to play for fun, now I can run it in higher PS or even CW. I think explosion radius is somewhat slept on. It’s great for Helicon, Masty, Trombone where you’re now heating a much larger section of the build or the entire build in some cases. Same with the ice cannons.

The wheels are kind of meh, it seems like opposite should be true, the closer enemies get the better the perks.
