The Founders are in play again. New features of the major March update. Part 1

Hello, survivors!

The “Wasteland drift” season is coming to an end, as well as the war between the Scavengers and Syndicate for the Oracle activation module. It’s no secret that the next season is about the long-awaited Founders. These seasoned builders always have a ton of tough heavy machinery to pummel their enemies into the ground.

What have the Founders been doing for all these past years? They worked tirelessly on new brutal tools. In this first part of our blog, we’ll see the tip of the iron iceberg they prepared: an epic support module of a new type and a legendary ballista. Let’s go!

We remind you that all the new features described in the “Developer blog” are not final and may be changed before they are introduced into the game or may not make it into the game at all. This applies not only to information about possible unique features of new parts, but also to the appearance of the parts themselves.

Epic support module for improving accuracy

Spread is a very unpleasant thing. The Founders seem to think so too, so they created a new type of module, never before seen in the world of Crossout, which makes their life easier by improving accuracy of fire.

In exchange for one energy unit, the module will provide several bonuses aimed at improving accuracy. For example, it will reduce the minimum and maximum spread. And its perk will increase the projectiles’ speed while driving slowly. A very useful gadget.

Legendary ballista

The Founders love the smell of heavy metal in the morning. Especially if it’s a piece of heavy metal flying on a ballistic trajectory towards an enemy car. Such a projectile can deal massive damage, especially if the enemy has lots of parts slapped on their vehicle. And of course you need a big ballista to send the slugger flying!

The new legendary weapon fires a metal beam that hits hard. The projectile deals increased damage to structural parts. We’re sorry to everyone who loves creating armour out of those. Additionally, a hit from the ballista has high impulse, which is helpful against melee enemies.

P.S. Like the “Ripper” disks, the beam stays stuck in the ground. Impressive!

New structural parts

And this is only the beginning! The next devblog entry will be released soon, stay tuned!

Big crossbow…

At least I hope, if that is one of those 12-energy (24 or whatever it was these days) single gun per build things, I am very erect. But if it’s just some 2-3 guns per build gun, very limp. The whole sticks to ground part makes me imagine this is just a legendary ripper basically rather than massive single-gun flat crossbow.

I do like how flat it is, it’s so flat (insert angi face anime girl because of the joke)

Structural parts look pretty nice too

Like we really needed another crossbow right after the fukibari… I’m not a crossbow fan.
Also, for when you really don’t want to use the torero cabin… more modules…
They should just make more CKs for the weapons we already have. Make a Founders CK for the Phoenix like this and be done with all the balancing issues.

I don’t think a ballista is the same thing as a crossbow, is it?
Sounds more like it uses artillery style aiming.

The accuracy module is intriguing, and probably a response to players crying about the hitscan changes. Curious how it will stack with Torrero and Finwhale.

I’m most excited about the structure parts. I’ve always been able to make good use of the Founders parts, even if I often prefer more rusted textures.

anyone wanna go pole vaulting? :joy:

Actually, metal has no smell (it does have a taste, though; copper is surprisingly agreeable); it’s the lubricants and other coatings that have an odor.

Anyway…so far, I don’t have enough information for me to buy into this. Does the ballista come with an instruction manual (in at least 6 languages)? How many joules of energy will it take to hurl the beam? Are the beams reuseable if they merely land on the ground, and not dented or deformed? Are they recently manufactured or recycled from somewhere? How much does the beam weigh? Is it the same weight throughout its length? If it is, it will most likely tumble in flight. It looks like it’s saboted; does the sabot detach after launch?

I’d also like to know the science behind the module that improves general accuracy, or is that knowledge highly classified? Was it obtained from the Russian military without approval? Is it transferable to my under-performing Warthunder tanks? If I can capture one, can I sell it on Ebay ™?

Hey, is it just me or do the structure parts look like a chest piece to a mech, kind of a transformer like?

The shoulders or pauldrons appear to be protection for where an arm joint me appear.

Just saying… Are we getting more mech pieces? If so, I am a fan!

They are from industrial machinery, that’s the whole premise of the “founders” faction.

Legendary Nailgun… what a shock!

Kind of looks like its designed to work with that front bumper, so it’s relatively small meaning it wont be a single high energy weapon IMO. Probably be ran as a double or triple setup like your standard nail guns and crossbows.

Stabilizer module? Return of the Punnys, Arbitors and Equalizers. Rip.

Ah! But then again, for a clue to the size, look at the control panel; you can see the levers and switches and buttons. If that’s to scale, then it’s gonna be something pretty big, perhaps similiar in size to the Thyrsus.

looking at it, it looks like that is a 2x2 or 3x3 bottom plate, most likely 3x3 as that rear part is literally just the distributors control panel.

So my guess is a 3x3 mounting part with a 5 wide, 6 long weapon part.

We actually already have a ballista and it doesn’t feel all that different…

Multiple Founders’ weapons have similar panels and the buttons are usually ridiculously small

This is why I think it’s going to work more like the artillery weapons.

Doesn’t the term “ballistic trajectory” basically apply to any kind of a projectile flight affected by gravity? I believe in case of weapons like Incinerators, the devs call it a “plunging trajectory”.

Also, the base is extremely low - the weapon itself is so close to the mounting plate that it seems incapable of aiming up

Edit: but the bolts will stick to the ground like Ripper’s disks? That may hint towards a significant drop. I actually don’t know what to expect anymore…

It’s always an adventure trying to decode the sloppy translations

yay lets all get happy for more stuff to get nerfed cuz of the grown men who cry ohhhh these are to OP but in general their trash at building   oh and aiming now days thats why theirs a accuracy module now, holy f just turn this game in to mobile already with auto drive, auto aim, auto fire then blame crossout (special edition)

By the looks of its mounting system, I think that is a weapon meant to be side mounted.

i imagine if someone hit that at a high speed theyll be vaulted across the city skyline. that or come to a dead stop taking alot of damage or even flipping themselves depending on the angle.

honestly i think this weapon isnt going to be able to aim up very far… or maybe to aim up it unfolds?? perhaps it has 2 modes on it? from what im seeing here it looks to me like where it attaches at the base that it can unfold for more height. i could be wrong though so we will just have to see when it comes out wont we?

that would be terrible though… i hate side mounting anything and i hope this isnt the case. but i said above it looks like it can unfold a bit maybe giving it a bit of height. idk if it actually can though it just LOOKS like it can to me.
