drones in pvp are seemingly useless. i tried using them but because of the bots strict priority of targeting drones they are made completely useless. what is even the point in having drones if they just get destroyed immediately before they get to do anything?
i also tried my sidekick in the garage and the damage seems really bad.
also drones suffer massively in pvp not only from the bots but from the helis to. its really disappointing to me that drones are so worthless.
i can see someone running them in multiples like the cobras and running a bunch of them at once but if you have a bot nearby with an mg then it just becomes worthless.
drones have now become a major joke in all modes and this is really depressing. what is the point in having drones if they get destroyed in a matter of seconds? they have low hp, low survivability, no chance against bots, no chance to defend yourself, have to long of a reload and are just not very good in general. drones have become a massive joke and this is just sad.
the devs arent helping either because they say the anaconda is fine for its powerscore, damage and energy drain. have you guys TRIED to run these things? anacondas and owls are a laughing joke of a weapon. the only time youd ever win with them is if someones incapacitated from laughing at you so hard long enough for your drones to dispatch them but that would take hours to destroy someone and i dont think someone will laugh for that long.
drones need some love man because this is just pitiful. the only “drone” worth running is the barrier, anything else is just… fish food for the bots.
HAHA!! no they arent.
they are completely useless at both pvp and pve. the issue is that the bots focus them so hard that they dont get a chance to do anything before they are taken out. so no they are useless in both modes not just in pvp.
To play turrets with success, you need to ram enemy, you need map awareness, you need to support allies in combat, you need to attack players and bots that are already distracted, you need to gain a capture point lead, you force the enemy to stay by your turrets, whether because you immobilized or crippled their vehicles or because they need to gain a capture point at your base or defend their base from capture, you need to keep moving, you need to be fast, I can get mvp running the call, 4 turrets, camo, cheetah, maxwell, bootstrap, two genesis. Ram them!
uhhh… drones auto target you know. without that how the hell would they function??
ramming does nothing except get in the way of your drones doing damage. plus how can i do that if my wheel drones are dumber then a sack of potatoes and wedge ME half the time?
IMO, most of the problems this game is having is due to the latest update. It was a very radical fix for a simple problem, and it has had wide spread effects. Not all of them are great either.
It’s not just bots that are more dangerous. Everybody is. The entire spectrum of PVP feels like high power-score game play now, and is very “meet and defeat.” That is to say; who ever surprises you wins confrontations based on how devastating almost all guns have become.
They buffed the hell outta guns almost completely across the board with this update, and about the only thing they didn’t do was create a dynamic where a player might run out of ammunition, which was supposedly the point. That doesn’t seem to be much of a burden even without an ammo pack, but the buff to cannons especially, and anything that isn’t a shotgun or drone is outstanding, I think.
People who already play high power-score probably don’t see a big difference in the game, because the weapons they are already using are so devastating. Peekabu is already something they regularly deploy, but IDK. The increased damage weapons do to structure parts now has got to be something everybody feels, weather it’s due to increased accuracy, projectile speed, increased base damage or whatever. Guns are hitting their targets, and hitting them hard, and often.
Bots have always had a hard-on for drones, but this update has, of course, improved their accuracy as well as buffed the weapons they are using too.
It was a stupid update, and it will probably take a lot of patches to fix…anybody see any patch-notes on how the bots were updated? Ever? Obviously, they do make updates to the bots, but I’m not aware of them saying what that might be.
Zodd (LordTutor?) is an extremely solid PvP drone player and legit the only droner that doesn’t make me want to leave the game when they’re in my team. Their advice is great and 100% true.
Anaconda, Owl and Sidekicks are bad. The rest is largely usable. Rare and special turrets and flying drones are totally usable, and flying drones are one of the best heli weapons. Yaoguai is insanely powerful for how easy to use it is.
Yes, bots chew drones. That’s why you don’t 1v1 a MG/AC bot with your drones. Wait until it’s distracted, drop your weapons. The bot changing targets for your drones can buy some precious seconds for your allies.
Bots targeting drones can be used to your advantage, if you focus on supporting your team.
Dropping some drones near a bot can instantly distract them from attacking your ally, which can shift the balance in your team’s favour.
And human players often ignore drones, which allows you to support your team in a different way.
They are not going to do much in any 1v1 scenario, unless you’re using them against a long range human player.
Not useless in PVP at all, but should be seen as a support build.
As long as sidekicks don’t lock on like Fuze’s again and follow you across the map, I’m good with a small drone buff. Especially to purple and lower drones.
