by botting i meant using bots = fuzes, not macroing, and what you just said makes zero sense, if fuzes are buffed (and they need to be to be an usable weapon) people will start macroing? how? why? are you suposing they are not macroing right now with weapons that allow macros?
Look, it’s easy to understand. If fuzes were awesome, people would set up macros to go forward and drop fuzes to farm ressources and rep 24/7
There are already a few dumbasses doing it and they score sub 40 most of the time, but any resouces they earn while a bot or macro plays the game for them are too much resources.
There’s a precedent in this very game with the Caucasus too, which used to be totally automatic and turned the game into a AIvAI fest until devs patched it.
But they eliminated auto queueing. Now, you need a macro to enter the queue after every Mission too.
But I only used Fuses for the Trial with Grenadiers
Special Turrets are better
turrets? why turrets?
Rare and Special Turrets are 3 Energy and weigh much less
The Turrets do not require you to stay near the enemy you are attacking and require no radar detection from your vehicle
Grenadiers are too stupid and fuse too unreliable, but they were fun to earn the patch and complete the trial
I just don’t get turrets, they are passive AF
I begun with turrets, my second version of my 6k build still have a turret but a particular game (control 17 map) made me give up on them, a game where i felt helpless, a game where me and other guy were the last standing, i spent the last moments of that game pursuing that guy, all he did was avoid me and my turrets for the win.
After that, Hawks, now we are talking, they are always with me, shooting at everything else, much better than turrets, they don’t require radar and are also 3 energy
I try to use my build as a battering ram or to give another target to the other guy to try to protect my drones while they do their job, i bob and weave, against certain adversaries ( canon builds and half dead builds but mostly canons) i’m just there on the side where we both can follow his demise…yeah even my drone build it’s made to fight canons on everything.
Hawks can find more angles to shoot at than many other weapons, they can shoot above many obstacles, often team mates.
I can run 4 x hawks or 3 hawks + 1 sidekick.
the sidekick it’s like a turret on wheels, roughly with me most of the times, sometimes he wonders off doing random damage, he often flips me over when he runs not to me but into me. But i like it, it’s like a dog. He’s there mainly to be a second diversion helping me to preserve my hawks. (that bastard grew on me).
So you see why i asked …why turrets?
They can be lighter and not require the mothership being in the proximity, but they die easily when left alone and they are so limited.
Purple drones… i share your opinion, they seem cumbersome. even howls.
The downside of Sidekicks it’s more PS than hawks and they are 4 energy (they could be 3 energy)
But that whopping 1100 PS for each purple drone? And for what they do? Nah
am i wrong thinking this?
As is, i’m thinking in going strait from hawks to the legendary ones and bypassing the purples all together the day i want to go from fun to something more serious
Yes, flying Drones for 3 Energy is awesome too, much better than wheeled drones!
But they of course are a different shape than Turrets or Wheeled Drones. You cannot mount Flying Drones where you had your Wheeled Drones
But you are not wrong about flying drones
Well, you can stack a flying drone over a wheeled drone.
stacking all the drones in one place or few places isn’t good.
I experimented different layouts, in the end i stuck with my initial design.
long and thin versus more compact and wide.
Having two drones side by side e.g. means when the armour caves in it’s a matter of time (seconds) to lose half of my payload.
As is when this happens i only lose 1/3 of my payload in similar circumstances, stretching the combat effeteness
