F2P players have no reason to play Rust & dust past level 59

I got to level 65 today. Finally destroyed 40 weapons and the daily challenges and realized I gained nothing.

I earned a storage expansion at level 59, but I cannot earn the vehicle playing for free.

Now I realized the bonus levels started already with 39 days to go. 5 bonus level rewards locked behind the paywall. Notice the infinity symbol on the bonus but the absence of the lock symbol. Top right it clearly reads purchase the battle pass, so although the lock symbol is missing, you are told you do not get the bonus for free.
I just did not realize that I was in the bonus already. It should go to like level 70 before the bonus starts.
I have enough spark plugs for a free Epic, a Fidget.
Once F2P players realize they have no incentive to play the mode, they will not play unless they love the mode. Queue times could become bothersome for the paid players.
I am relieved to not have to play this mode any longer.

Thanks for the heads-up! Now I’ll have more time to devote to crafting and selling radios for fun and profit! :grinning:

I’m in total agreement on this.
Even though I am not as far as you I just find no incentive to carry on in this mode as it feels more of a time and wallet sink.

Now I’m fine with most BPs and I have paid for a few myself as they are good value for money I think (I usually buy the cheap one and can grind the levels), but this one is just plain boring. Putting the effort to earn parts AGAIN to build better rigs only for destroyed parts to have to be remade feels like a poor-man’s Hardcore mode.

I played it solely for the badges for the completion of 2 battles. Now that offer has ceased no interest.

Nobody really has any reason to play this mode tbh

New players can get a bunch of epic parts from the R&D pass, which might be more useful to them than the legendary parts that come with most normal BPs.
But for the rest of us, this mode is not about the rewards, and is purely about whether we enjoy playing a stripped down version of Crossout that doesn’t have the same P2W aspects of the main mode, and which doesn’t give any significant advantage to players who’ve been able to build up a large inventory through either grinding or money.

Personally, I’m mostly playing R&D since it launched, and enjoying seeing how high I can rank each week. Don’t need any of the rewards, but I bought the BP anyway because I wanted to vote with my dollar in favour of the mode. The only times I’m playing normal Crossout is to do enough Clan Confrontation matches to help my clan unlock some challenges.

I find it really refreshing to play a mode that’s not really about grinding and progressing. Every week I come up with some new builds and approaches, and I love that we have so many blueprint slots to experiment with.

Lately my strategy has been to use an epic cabin with mostly rare parts, so that I can repair cheaply. Although this week I am considering going the other way, and pairing epic movement parts with rare everything else.

Well they kinda do, aim for the leaderboard and get extra spark plugs, you can get rewards that way

But why no Drones? Drones have been in game since day one open beta. They are not star wars technology. The kid in Road Warrior could have had a drone instead of a boomerang. Pay to win can be a super-fast Windows 11 PC versus a potato Windows 10 PC, or even just a graphics card. They can see and aim at their target where others cannot. Pure luck I hit anything with MGs.

You gain zero extra spark plugs playing for free. Oh, I did forget the weekly Spark plugs for the next 5 weeks. I got my Epic weapon. I do not want any more Spark plugs.

I got some storage expansion things with mine, seems worth it.

I know you love drones, and that must be frustrating, but I think the theory is that they would need some advanced onboard computers, and that didn’t fit the vibe.
What have you been playing instead? Melee and/or mines?

You are an intuitive human being, my friend. King mines would destroy wheels and weapons, Borer also good for wheels, and a shotgun for challenges. To farm spare parts to run the king mine harpy vehicle, I ran a Growl, dual borer, dual sledgehammer that cost nothing to repair. Then the mines would complete the Challenges. The lag repeatedly caused me to miss the ram attack, but the shotguns could still score damage from such close range. I finally learned that if I missed the ram attack to not 180 but just drive away to the next target. The 180 would too often spin me out into a terrain object for an instant death. You cannot even drive in a driving game. Such horrible ping and packet loss and lag spikes. You oversteer because your vehicle waits .333 seconds to react to your input or worse. The mode was mostly horrible, but I could usually go get some capture points, if I could drive well enough to get to the base. I will not miss it.

You get (50?) from the leagues per week and additional 50-100 (realistically speaking) from the leaderboard per week if you manage to be top 500+.

The offer appears to have been returned. Now, I will complete 2 Rust and Dust per day.

I see this ! On my end Q times are beyond 5 minutes to drop into a match if even more. That certainly kills the mood.

Probably most F2P players are dropping out after level 59, so queues are longer. Then again, they averaged about 1.5 minutes even before that threshhold. I still play the 2 battles to get the badges, but I’ve let my scrap pile dwindle.

My wait times are very short, and I’m getting lots of matches with no bots.

But depends on when I’m playing, and possibly where I’m currently ranked.

Seems like my wait times get longer the higher I rank, but that could also be explained by the times and days when I’m usually ranked highest.

i stopped playing the game mode, they say we would have fun like back in the day but they kept aim assist nd camera traction, i wanna make no brains cry nd leave just like back then instead of being kissed by other men that probably say their straight but cant aim without kissing

I think you just baptized one of my builds
I have Bruiser ( it leave you bruised) and now the Kisser… I like it.
Beats Hammer head…I just wasn’t feeling .
thanks…
