Failed weapons

It just needs to function as a radar really. In my head when I take apart their engine they probably haven’t moved the capabilities of each type of part in code such as modules and weapons to each other. So they can’t simply move the it over to modules. If they did it much more modularly they would be able to.

I was thinking something similar to what dirty hamster was thinking. Imagine if when it hit somebody it acted like a radar on their build showing you what they see within say 200 m. That would make it definitely worthwhile, especially if paired with a man Drake or heather.

There is a secret to Therms: it’s called Bootstrap, fused seal, fused seal, fused shiver. At 8500 with this combo on Omnis with Catalina or Jannabi it is the best gun in the game. A gun is judged by how well it performs in its best config at its power score. Therm dominates purples. Don’t knock it till you’ve really tried it.

You don’t even need that. I use one fused cooler. You just have to know where the explosive parts are.

3 fused Therms (-10% overheat) with fused seal on the damage sphere, without moving: around 1350

3 unfused Joules with unfused seal on the damage sphere, without moving: around 1750

Even with less/lesser support modules and without using the perk, Joules blow Therms out of the water. I believe your build would be just as damaging with three Joules, a big G and a single Seal or Shiver, 0.5k PS lower

Also unless I missed an update, Omnis don’t trigger Jannabi’s perk? :face_with_monocle:

What’s the PS difference though?
At that level, it doesn’t take as much to put you in a different PS bracket.

For the same damage over a heat cycle? Pretty sure Joules are way more cost effective. You probably need two unfused seals with therms to reach the efficiency of Joules, and that’s not accounting for the actual DPS of Joules which is much higher.

Pay 1k more PS in weapons, skip 800 of cooling modules, and the explodey gens that go with it. A PU Charge is 410 PS, so 3 Therms + 2 modules + PU Charge is actually 190 PS higher, with an explosive bit, less DPS, similar damage/cycle, and flimsier weapons.
However, Darth was talking about Bootstrap. You go from Bootstrap to Big G instead of PU-Charge to nothing? 500 PS difference for Joules instead of 190.

Keep in mind all the odds were stacked against Joules in my test. unfused weapon vs fused, unfused seal vs fused (and the seal fusion is OP as fuck), no Joule perk (it’s very strong).

I don’t have joules, so I can’t do any of my own comparisons, but I will say that I’ve been very surprised at how well therms have performed. I’ve generally been running them on lower PS builds, so that might be why (definitely lower PS than what either of you are describing).
Joules also seem to do well when I see other people playing them, but I don’t often see them at the same PS range as I would play therms at.

My feeling is that they’re both good, but that you have to be careful to not inflate the PS of a therm build.

I played with both for a bit.

I think both are excellent, prefer the therms a bit better because you can build a more efficient build (lower PS).
I forget who had the video of therm’son omni’s but omg are they powerful in that type of build, either one.

Edit I should note also my therms are upgraded, my joules are not and that could be the difference I percieve.

I don’t understand why you are so eager to prove that Therm is a bad weapon, but if you want to test it, do it the right way.
3 fused Therms with 2 fused seals and PU-1 do 1858 on damage sphere. That is considerably better than your test with Joules and with lower PS.
We then talk about build of 6100 PS and 14 energy
If I change the same build to 3 Joules, Big G and 1 x seal I get to 6460 PS. Even if Therm build goes to Bootstrap and Joule build goes to PU-1 because Big G is a fragile thingy, Therm build still has lower PS and more DPS on damage sphere.

In other words what I said before a Fused Therm comes very close to Joule and in some cases even better, and not unimportant, much cheaper.
Fused Joule with fused seals outperform Therm, but that is another discussion and PS and cost wise not a fair comparison.

Incidentally, this only says something about the max DPS of the weapon, it says nothing about how effective the weapon is in combat. And since you previously compared Therm to Tempest in similar circumstances and came to the conclusion that Tempest was better, either you don’t understand Therm or your play style is a better fit for Tempest.

p.s. I do own Joules

I find them both great… I tend to use Therms more often. Wait… I sold my Joules, so duh. LOL
I do regret that sale.

They’re very similar, but with most special to epic upgrades, you get the perk. That perk, of course, comes at a price… and 340 PS per weapon is nothing to scoff at.

So what you two are saying it should allow players to see the same thing their enemy sees when the enlightenment is active?

In PVE the double Jubokko trucks have an enlightenment on them. I couldn’t remember which bot had it on it.

Are you referring to the Syndicate bot? I don’t recall seeing a bot with Jubokko in PVE.

It’s in there around 7-9k it’s a syndicate bot though.

I don’t know what it should do, but I do think it would be cool if it showed on my radar what the vehicle I hit with the enlightenment sees on their radar… essentially making them my spy.

It should extend your radar to match yours and the targets both.

The question I have is… what if they don’t have any radars or radio?
What if you are a long ways apart and the two radars don’t overlap?

I like the idea. Not sure how it could be implemented.

I guess if you hit someone without a radar, you still just see whatever they see on their little mini map. I guess that’s what I mean by you can see what’s on their radar… see what’s on their minimap.

It stops cloak from working and you see them marked on the mini map.

so the mini map would zoom out farther and include theirs also, even if they don’t overlap?
