I think so, but I don’t play them. They sure chew up my fenders quick, though.
I got the impression the drones were initially intended to be a guns+1 drone type thing. The sidekick is ideal for that role, but I think it’s too weak, too wonky. Maybe they need to make an 8 point sidekick that actually suits its namesake? Sounds like trouble, eh?
i think grenadiers and annihilators are what really destroyed drones in general. the only thing they needed to do was make them more balanced but no… nerf all drones instead of the two most problematic ones.
i like drones, i really do. but the issue here stems from a few things.
you cant use drones in raids. in my experience the enemies constantly target drones immediately. the same with kapkans to. they will instantly focus your drones and shoot them.
rocket turrets are useless. they are a big target and fire so slowly you could eat a steak dinner, and drink 2 cups of tea before that thing is ready to fire again. yeah they do quite a bit of damage but its still not worth getting them. dont count on them getting off 2 rockets before they get destroyed. its a shame cause i really like these drones.
the wheel drones are ok kinda. i love fuzes and hope they rebalance them again. its a shame they got such a massive nerf. heli drones are… weak to say the least. but i guess thats how they are meant to be.
This weapon was useless from day one and has never been good. They need a buff for sure.
This is exactly where they messed up. If we could revert all drones back to this point and then rebalance grenadiers and annihilator then we would be pretty close to how they should be.
sadly this is true. when the nerf happened to fuzes it completely ruined my build. even the increased blast radius was badly effected. i could easily tell that my drones were alot weaker and couldnt hold up at 10k powerscore anymore. it was really sad cause i won so many matches with my fuzes. in the time i built my fuze build to the time they were nerfed i got about 30k fuel thanks to that build. i didnt fuse the drones either. i want to make more fuzes again when i get the scrap and materials for them again and fuse a set of 3. im hoping they buff them again to what they were before the drone nerf. i want my drones to explode all over people.
Ya, I can see that. I’m playing them a lot lower, like between PS 6-7K.
I think buffing Fuzes by much would be brutal, but if there’s a consensus on that, I’ll go along with it. I Like my Fuzes.
Maybe they need to come out with a module that buffs drones, makes them faster, more durable, or something, so they’re more viable at higher power-scores?
The co-pilot update that’s coming in a couple weeks will turn everything on it’s head probably, and nothing will be like it is today. They made an announcement yesterday that the new co-pilots are going to be a thing. It’s looks like a cool update overall, but the co-pilot re-work will have some pretty wide ranging effects, I would guess. It’s probably pointless to speculate on what should or should not be buffed/nerfed until after the update hits the fan. Things will be different again.
they made a co-driver specifically for drones, honestly for me, the only thing it is going to do is make people cry about drones even more and get them nerfed until they deal 0 points of damage and have 0 health, while being completelly statyonary, all while the co-driver itself does not even give that much of a “buff” to them…
i realy wish they woud just totally rework how drones in general work, as of right now it is just… you know…
before the nerf the fuzes were really good. not the best though, very heavily armored builds could tank them but the explosion radius and damage they did made them good at 10k powerscore. treads could tank them on the sides but i would wait for a chance and drop my drones behind them where they are vulnerable. lol got quite a few rage quits cause of it. idk if i got hate messages as i always have the in game chat turned off. though i did once with someone saying i have no skill LOL. if i dont have skill then howd ya die and i remain unscathed? xD
i remember one time i hid around a corner, i seen someone approaching on my radar, i dropped my drones and as soon as he came around the corner he got a face full of triple fuzes taking out his treads lol.
i could even hide behind obstacles and drop my drones and watch them target the nearest person who wasnt paying attention. most of the time noone would bat an eye to them cause they think the drones dont do much, hah! showed them when they were nothing but a cabin laying there hahaha.
I me when balancing weapons you can’t balance in the “I have a low PS build that works worth them”
We need to compare them to how well they perform in comparison to the other weapons in their rarity.
I’m sure they might be good at 6-7k, but a full set of them should be able to fight at 10k.
So they don’t need a huge buff, but a few tweaks could make them a better choose for an epic weapon.
One of the worst things this company has ever done to its players is change stats on weapons and not change the bars on the weapons. New players don’t know they have been nerfed multiple times, and I’m sure when they finally do get a set they are disappointed they cant stand up in the same PS their other epic weapons do.
They should just remove bars and allow anyone to test any item in their own garage, make entire builds with all parts unlocked to test them out, but they won’t.
in comes the comments shouting “exhibition!!!” but that doesnt always have good builds or the button maps you want. im in support of this idea though. id love to test out various weapons in my garage. like have it so you can build a car then go to the shop and click on the weapon then select “test weapon”. this will give you a temporary weapon to use and when your done with it you can remove the weapon from your build to test a new one or something else. you wouldnt be able to go into battle with one on on your vehicle until its removed.
Some people are really trying hard to make me cry about drones. I won’t.
About consoles specifically, I think it was M420 who posted a screen with 16 arrows and like 40 dots on his minimap before the general 25% damage nerf to drones… I’m not sure who wants to play that crap, but I bet it didn’t help the dying console playerbases.
Some form of laser pointer for drones has been suggested quite often. I’d suggest giving that perk to Enlightenment honestly. Just replace its current perk with +15% damage to AI weaps on the target, done.
Only drones I’d buff are the epic rocket ones. Yaoguai is cancer af since its last buff.
Cought-cought enlightment is also a no-kill weapon that is instantly countered by spark, cloak, terrain, and has a turning radius so bad that it will just circle builds without ever hitting them.
Yaoguais are still free kills for me, i don’t get why people conplain about them most of the time when a drone is dropped it is instantly destroyed by someone on the opposite team; and also, that drone both requires you to “aim” but also you to have map awereness and strategysing, i’m not asking drones to be buffed, i want a total drone rework to make them more fun to play, and require more skill.
Yaoguais can tank a Fatman shell. I’ve been instantly ended by some lucky triple yao drop while I’m trying to reverse too often, that crap is busted. Nothing you can do if you’re not playing MGs, and soon it’ll get like -30% deploy time with a new codriver (^%
“Deploy time” is the time it takes for it to start firing when it detects an enemy (or when changing target) yaoguai already has the fastest deploy time of all drones, so it won’t be a big change.
like the dronepocalypse! make your own custom drone that you can bring into battle. it can only have 1 weapon. i had a thought where you drop your drone and it has a battery, once the battery runs out itll stay there and you have to pick it up to charge and use it again.

i know grenadiers used to be able to tank alot to. annihilators were annoying and make certain builds completely useless due to how they function.
the thing about this is it would be very common to see grenadiers in battles. one time i went in and pretty much both teams minus about 2 people on each team were NOT using drones, the rest were using drones. grenadiers were the most common drone for people to run due to how broken they were. all people did was drop then and run / hide while the drones picked people apart, there wasnt really any good counter to them cause the grenadiers would shread your build so fast and they could tank a shell from a cannon to. i believe they had 150+ hp on the drone itself.
id love to run drones again, i really like drones (more specifically fuzes) but we dont need them to be broken. bugg all drones except the yao… whatever that drones called, grenadiers and annihilators. fuzes need to be good again.
Nerfing the Call down to 77 kph turned that car into a lemon, and took a little more punch out of running drones. I’m glad I didn’t fuse mine. I just sold that and my Howl, due to the speed nerf. I just can’t do a drone-boat at 77kph. The melee is too much, and I can’t escape anymore, nor can I get good enough speed to ram with passive-melee well.
The Howl was just over priced at this point. I’m not paying that much for an 80kph cab with those stats. Glad I sold it near what I paid.
I’m liking the consensus on Fuzes. I’d be happy to see them buffed. My Fuze build is one of my favorites, and one of the few builds I’ve fused (near completely), so I’m biased for the buff. Bring it on, but I’d hate to see them over do it, and cause another plague.
before when grenadiers were broken i tested out a cabin to see how good it would be. the call with goliath treads and 3 grenadiers was absolute torture to other enemies. i would tank so much damage and dish out even more back. because of the defense boost i could tank alot more damage then i shouldve been able to tank. i could probly destroy 3 or 4 builds before i was out of action. i remember someone chasing me with shotguns and i dropped my 3 grenadiers, they ripped the dude apart and shot off all his guns and framed him as i drove around with the defense boost on. my build was barely damaged. he was at full or near full health when he attacked me. felt sorry for him though.
for annihilators they were brutal. they could damage your weapons but they mainly targeted the cabin. they would drop your hp so fast and drain your power so quickly it wasnt even funny. i actually switched it up before and on my fuze build i ran an annihilator for defense and support. well that went a little TO well. the annihilator slowed them down and id drop my fuzes around a corner, by the time they got there my fuzes turned the corner and exploded on the dude chasing me dealing alot of damage, often times framing them or messing up their drive controls due to my drones exploding a ammo pack or something explosive on them. the two in combination were devastating especially since not many builds can hit them. if they were on treads or legs they were royally screwed.
