Games “becoming”, Buy every Battle pass short and long (and play daily) or you’ll fall behind, to keep it short.
For a Free To Play Game… It’s more expensive than any other game I can think of. Plus theres the more expensive pass $$$.
I get they have to make money, but for what? To constantly anger the players and please the wealthy? While the game gets more toxic every update.
Grind also gets harder and longer every update.
they constantly change things that frustrate people. Building, UI Etc
Could buy whole games for the price of 1-2 battle passes and get more value. waste sooo much time grinding away as a F2P, and free to play is usually for those who don’t have hundreds and hundreds of dollars just for 1 game.
I want Crossout Great, but the fact is since i started playing, a large percentage of people quit, maybe some come back. But the way the games going, the
Options.
1 Be Very P2W and Have P2W friends \ clan. That played and spent from very early on.
2 grind everyday f2p, struggle and waste your life like me.
Or 3 just quit and cut your losses?
Pay forever or leave. Kinda leaning towards the latter. Especially with mechs supposedly coming to regular pvp. And dozens of other issues.
Why play more when the issues are rarely addressed.
Yeah this game is as money hungry as it gets. And people are always going “Nooo it’s not free to play just have fun nooo” but honestly, it’s also pay2havefun
How many of these justhavefun people would start a brand new fresh account right at this sitting, not spend any money into the game, and have fun with the experience? And not to the level of maybe I’ll play this account for a week max and then go back to my old one with all the parts, but commit to their new free2play account
Thing is, the game gets less fun every update.
And having to pay forever definitely isn’t fun but to each their own.
And part of the fun is progress, having stuff to work towards.
But 1 example, its easier to get wins playing as a heli now. Regular pvp just gets harder, more toxic and longer grind.
I play but haven’t been having fun since commit was added really
it would be easy to say the game is simply pay to play, but who can explain the horrible updates they consistently push over the last few years, the game has not gotten better in almost any aspect than it used to be.
i have no clue who the target audience is supposed to be for this new “futuristic wasteland (except rich and plentiful…?)” style but ignoring how tasteless and uninteresting it is, the only people it must seem interesting to are children
If playing matches feels like a chore and a waste of time, you should quit and spend your time playing a game you actually enjoy.
If you can’t enjoy the game with the items you currently have, getting more high end versions of those parts isn’t going to make the game more fun and satisfying for you.
When I first started playing, I would get demolished by players with higher end items that I couldn’t get yet, and fooled myself into thinking that acquiring those items would magically make me better. Then I would get those items, and still be getting blown up by more experienced players.
If you want to win, you just need to get better at playing and building. That’s all.
The only possible exception to this is CW, and even at that level you do have cheaper options that can be competitive, but only if you improve your skills.
All these new battlepasses is this games undoing I think. They focus way too much on adding new items to the game without improving hardly anything else. Having too few toys to choose from is bad but having too many is bad has well which introduces more power creep which in turn discourages new players from playing.
Honestly I think the game is on its last legs at this point. It is why you get 8k builds playing against 20k builds these days because there is not enough players in the game to keep a fair power score balance.
The steam charts is the worse it has ever been and I don’t think there is any coming back unless the game does a complete uturn. They need to cut out all these greedy monthly mini passes and main battle passes every 3 months, slow it down a little bit and focus on other things like adding bigger/better maps, improved bot ai and other things that will improve the core experience. Adding new items constantly is not improving the core experience and all it does is bloat the game.
grinding just to grind is pointless, what are you even gonna use better gear for if you dont want to play the game.
but they really need to add some more gamemodes though, something that doesnt get deleted and re-added every 5 minutes
taste is subjective, but in my eyes this new theme is very bland, generic and appears in many cheap games.
the old style was way more suitable, even though all these modern scifi weapons were out of place.
but thats a whole another unfortunate path they took, theyre really just making this game into walking war robots.
whether or not we like new theme of the game, i cant see this game surviving for a long time unless the devs stop tailoring to whales and treating new players like disposable piggy banks.
the only reason crossout is alive is that there is no alternative with similar vehicle building mechanics.
but the truth is that there hasnt been a single interesting update in a long time. the only updates we get are increasingly odd weapons, p2w parts, very bad balance changes followed by other bad changes after they realize they broke the game, and feature refactors that rarely make the feature any more usable
pay money here, pay money there, do challenges, look at how good this value for your money is !!
it properly makes this feel like a ported mobile game
The difference is, to me grinding is just playing the game, and I play Crossout because I actually enjoy playing the game.
So no, playing the game just to play the game is not pointless at all for me.
I’m playing because I like playing. Grinding out resources is just a nice bonus.
There’s not a big enough playerbase to have lots of modes, so their only real option is to rotate in temporary modes, and repeat the more popular ones.
Nevertheless, they have actually added new permanent modes (Next Step, CC, BfU, game centre brawls).
The problem is that you don’t like playing those new modes, while I do.
Again, ask yourself if you actually like the game, or do you really just like the idea of what you imagine the game could be
You are right. You don’t like where the game has grown, but me and others do. It’s just subjective opinions.
No, that is your truth, and it’s just a subjective opinion (just like my opinions).
I think you need to decide for yourself how much the uniqueness of Crossout gives you pleasure, and if that’s enough to make up for the parts you don’t like.
You’re never going to be able to write the magic words on this forum and suddenly convince the devs that your vision for Crossout is the correct one. They’re not going to undo years of development because you think they went the wrong direction.
Maybe they’ll change course if enough people quit, but more realistically the game will just die off. But quitting completely is the only way you can actually send a message. Not saying they’re going to listen to you over those of us who still like the game, but you don’t really have another option.
Every battle pass, I get things worth coins for my time not money. Every mini pass gives me a crate worth 400.00 coins, or 360.00 coins after tax. They give me coins. They give me structure parts and frames. I get enough lighters for a free upgraded teal item. I get recipes for crafting normal new items for free. I get a purple crate whose contents can be sold.
I disagree with structure parts being unlocked during battle passes. After the battle pass, all structure parts and frames should be obtainable through Prestige Levels and Badges, not Badges only. While I have never missed out on new structure parts, my clan mate cannot say the same thing. He is missing many parts because the Badge cost is too high.
I did notice the PVP missions with rotors and mech legs pay higher rewards, but many lasted the full 5 minutes. I am not sure if this mode is more profitable than the classic mode.
Do you have everything \ OP Stuff? If so no wonder, plus enough money for every pass yeah i’d have fun too i guess. Plus friends, with friends everythings better of course
I say Gamble the crates, for me i got equal value if i were to have sold.
Got 1 fortune once. Sold that tho.
But yes if i couldn’t buy i still do the challenges for the Free Stuff.
I say the Free stuff should be Doubled for the Paying customers
If you’re looking to make friends in the game, simply send an invite to people you regularly see in battles (don’t get upset if they don’t all respond; there’s a 200-person friend limit in the game). Or zip around the adventure map and start up a conversation, maybe do some of the recurring group missions (like “convoy escort”) with the other players. Ask if anyone wants to do (or redo) the Awakening series together. You can also make friends quickly in Bedlam if you’re civilized (don’t come in spraying everyone, at least until after you become a familiar face).
if you just play the game and get the basic rewards from missions thats not grinding, thats just playing. grinding would be doing everything you can to push towards getting more coins or expensive parts whether its fun or not
thats unfortunate because if they dont add gamemodes, no new player will keep playing for long.
well, shouldve thought of that before they did what they did to the game
didnt say that. issue is that the modes are random, there is always a different one, and they enable every other hour which is just stupid
i like the game and i like the insane potential it has. building and pvp is great, but on the other hand gamemodes are lacking and quality of updates to parts and mechanics is very bad
its true though, there hasnt been anything new apart from weapons and p2w modules.
maybe mech legs, but those are less recent and are not integrated well at all
obviously im still on this forum and still occasionally playing the game, so there is enough good to keep me from leaving forever. but the devs just dont get better as time goes on
if they could read english, they would realise that their game is dead and they might even make more profits if they unfucked it
its sad but you might be right that the devs would rather kill this game than to make it usable.
if only i knew their profits, i could give up right away and stop wasting my time.
the truth is if the devs knew how to run a game, they wouldve fixed it by this point. but i guess relying on the profits of whales is lazier and easier than actually caring
yes these numbers are horrible but its just steam.
there are also going to be players on normal launcher or console, so you can add like a two thousand more to the peak player number.
I’ve been playing for years, so yes, I do have a lot of stuff.
But one of the reasons I have a lot of items is that I am not obsessed with having the highest tier items or the most OP items, so I don’t generally sell much of what I acquire.
And I play solo pretty much all the time. Only tried grouping up briefly during the first few months of COVID.
The secret to enjoying Crossout is to not get sad when you get blown up. I am just as happy trying to make underpowered items work as I am playing whatever the current meta is.
As far as money goes: I cut hair for a living, so my income is at the lower end compared to many in this forum. I have never bought a pack, never paid for premium, and never bought a mini-pass. I only buy the main BPs, which are objectively cheap. For what I spend on a takeout lunch at work, I get a few months of extra items. I am definitely not a whale.
I disagree. The way challenges are set up now, and the way clans work now, I don’t really have to do anything I hate to get a decent amount of rewards. With the amount of time I have, there’s no way I could do every challenge anyway, so I just optimize my time based on what I like doing.
Maybe the difference is that I enjoy more parts of the game?
I was talking about the list of new permanent modes. Those may alternate by the hour, but they aren’t random. There’s always a game centre brawl, and every other hour there is always either a CC or BfU session. Next Step is always available.
The other special modes are temporary, but that’s not what I was talking about, and I made that pretty clear.
You can’t have it both ways: you complain that you don’t like the new changes, and then you also complain that there haven’t been any changes. Pick a position.
