That would be an interesting idea for a battlepass: just the top pack-only items.
Like a greatest hits tour.
kind of you just do 1 per pass. It doesn’t matter which one it starts with but you have to cover them all eventually.
That.

I don’t mind paying a BP if i like it, but even if i like it i won’t pay if others things are in the way.
e.g.
Last April i bought a smartphone, the choice was easy, dictated by how the things were going in the world. For the same money i could got more but my conscience said no.
All it takes is a bit of discipline and a lot of caution, discipline to enforce what our conscience dictates.
that’s all
I guess so, as long as one of us players are willing to sell you one that we bought with actual cash. If not, too bad, I guess? That wasn’t actually my question, but you make a good point. Certain Hovers are like that too. I forget which ones. The artificial scarcity makes the price on some of that stuff on the market a bit exclusive, I think. That’s an acceptable Hustle, I presume?
They could fill a lot of events with things like that, now that you mention it. There are a lot of items in this game that are impossible to acquire, even with cash. Like the Thug, for example. I like that cab, personally, but if you want one, tough. Nobody is selling them, and if they do, they want a LOT of coins for it. Decor falls into this category the most frequently, probably. It would be nice to see them on an event bench occasionally, or even permanently. Right now the only reason you can buy a Hot Rod on the market (PC) is because I’m selling them. I bought way too many of those. If I pull my stock there might be one or two still out there available.
I clarify that this isn’t pay to win, even though they get awfully close from time to time.
If you compare this to other real pay to win games, the difference is stark. For example, I left a movie game a couple of years ago because you literally couldn’t compete unless you spent money. Non-paying players are just canon fodder for the paying ones.
If you haven’t played a true pay to win game, XO may feel pay to win… It isn’t, though… Not by a long shot.
I tried P2W here once. It was disappointing. The matchmaker appears to take aim at that pretty strong. The wonky META is really the only way to procure an actual advantage in this game. Are they selling that? IDK, but that’s the only way I can see to gain any “unfair” advantage in this game, if you can call it that.
That’s generally the idea… It’s better then offering us stuff that is craft able too even be it in a limited fashion.
They really just need to sit down and come up with a better crafting method for this stuff. Lightbulb for lightbulb all the way up the rarity list. It’s not like we don’t have extra shells and coupons that could be used.
I’ve thought about buying that a few times lol, I have most of the blue cabs already upgraded in multiples. lol
Kinda expressing my interests on the game…
The only unobtainable items I’ve been bothered by have been decor pieces.
When they made the fins of the Furia Pack only available in the way-overpriced premium pack, I was…furious. I’m still bummed that the durability on the front end bumper assembly is pointless, but whatever.
They’ve got a significant hustle here, but I’m not convinced P2W is their hustle. It’s hard to nail them to that cross when the META is a Trucker and some Borers, probably.
As I sit here and contemplate this topic (trying to see both sides), I realized it totally doesn’t make any difference if I buy or don’t buy into either one of the VIP events going on right now. That’s part of why I didn’t buy either pass (yet). I keep looking at the content and I don’t see any significant advantage in-game to buy either. Nothing in either of those event passes is going to buy you any wins. Bummer, right?
Am I the only hypocrite who on the one hand hates P2W scenarios, but is also a little disappointed that their are no P2W goodies in either of these event passes…just some really cool bling that makes your game more groovy?
That’s the power score balancing in effect. Granted, it’s very flawed, but in the gaming world I think it is among the best. That is damning with faint praise!
If you buy either of these battle passes, perhaps you will get a broader variety of parts to play with, but are they better? If you essentially pay for a legendary weapon, you are going to be playing against other people with legendary weapons.
I know there are slight workarounds do that I have mentioned above… Min-maxxing for example, but you will pay a price for your lack of armor.
A lot of free to play games allow you to pay for purely cosmetic items that give you zero benefit in-game. I wish cross out leaned more in that direction than it does the Pay to Win Direction.
It is precisely the illusion that you are paying for a competitive advantage that repeatedly tricks people into spending more money in the game.
Well, that’s just one of the tricks.
i ran out of these long ago. Perhaps I should not have ignored awakening.
That area is really fun with small arms and boosters… I take all my builds there to test them though. If I can’t deal with the smalls I can’t deal with larger builds. The boosters are fun there though because they get reloaded on ammo drops.
I have found some of my heaviest PVP builds are completely useless in awakening. The little bots are so small and fast that they are hard to hit. If one of those tiny single borer fellas gets up under you, they can completely wipe you out LOL
Awakening is probably the last place that an all out melee build is still viable. It’s just fun to run around blowing up little robots like popping the balloons.
That happens in raids often too… It a good reason to test heavily…
I love going in there and popping them it’s so much fun.
I’ve actually been really curious about using cockpit build in the area. I was thinking they would be a blast.
Notice how omamori is probably the most essential utility after generators in the game?
Notice how it was not craftable after the battlepass ended?
Notice how it reached 9k+value?
Notice how they did not include its bluerprint at the actuall battle pass, but the extra one?
Have fun.
If I were you, I’d get the main BP just for the generator. It will fit better into more traditional wheeled builds, and give you more flexibility for your creations.
Doesn’t mean you have to go into high PS, as you could just use it to mount a ton of Chords to a four wheeled build.
Then again, you could probably just buy it on the market later.
Seems like it would fair better in low PS anyway, due to it’s durability. That’s an interesting possibility
An articulating trailer hitch would be a nice piece to compliment to the explosiveness of the module. It’d be extra cool if you could drop off the assembly like they do in raids. 4 points is enough to run an independent system, like a radar, scope, some missiles, or even a drone.
I’d love it if they let us split our equipment and relative power-scores up like that, like if you could build a drone car and split the power-score between your two builds; one’s a bot (pet-ravager) and the other’s you, and your power-score for the matchmaker’s purpose would be a total of both units…we need a Ravager module; an eye that links you to your creation…or maybe a device that infects the already existing bots or even enemy players…unless his team mates shoot the device off before it consumes him and makes him your slave…er…comrade.
I like Ravagers. They are very creepy. It unfortunate the event is so lackluster. Both of the passes appear a bit weak, especially if you consider the Polar Lights Pass is stretched out so far. It’ll still be here in April (is that right?). Also, their actual content is a bit mysterious and hard to read with all the crates and blueprints littered throughout it. It requires some research and math just to estimate the overall value. Scrolling through the rewards, it looks like mostly nothing. It lists very few physical models of anything, is mostly non-items like blueprints, work pieces, storage expansion, etc. At a glance it looks a little disappointing. The actual value is shrouded in a labyrinth of menus…at least there are no Stabilizers.
You could do a removable trailer with that connection module, and that’s kind of an interesting concept.
I’ve had some matches lately where I lost my generator before losing guns and modules, which then prevented me from being able to use all my guns. Grouping the disposable modules with the generator would potentially fix that.
I doubt I’ll do it though, as it would make my builds too long for my tastes. Long narrow builds don’t handle so well anymore.
