I like it!
Allow the symmetry obsessed a taste of sideways builds!
Frontal legs too!
I was kind of surprised when they didn’t go through with letting players mount them that way. However it did let player hide hovers really easily behind goliath tracks though.
1 they did allow it on a test server, but people cryed so hard, that they scraped it;
2 a hover that not only does not “hover” but only goes 45 kilometers an hour, with horrible aceleration.

I really didn’t get what the big deal was. I thought it was more interesting actually.
Agreed,
But if they make it a new wheel then it gives everyone something to chase after.
It is a win win for us and the dev team.
True but since it already has all the movements required it seems like it would just be a duplication of effort. They could spend that time working on other things. If they were going to just add something to change how hovers would work I’d rather see a directional thruster. i.e. something that would just speed up forward vectored flight while allowing strifing to remain the same.
Won’t happen.
This is just cut and paint code they already have. The only “work” they would have is to make a modified model.
I do agree it would just be better for them to make regular hovers go in both directions, but it seems to be an easier sell for this dev team is if it 1) going to make them more money 2) a simple cut and paste.
There’s really no need for a model change though all the directional movements are available to normal hovers with how they normally would mount if transitioned to frontal.
Again, I’m not disagreeing with you.
But if you want to sell an idea to a company, they better be getting a profit.
