I want to get some of my friends to play this game , I want a way to give them the entire game without them wasting any data on it, I 've been thinking of putting the game in a pen drive but I can’t find a way to get the game into my pen drive , only my launcher is copied in to my pen drive
if youre on steam you can click “browse files” and copy the crossout folder. your friends put it into their steam folder and click “Verify integrity” and it should probably work.
dont know where the files are if you use the external launcher
I’m using the external launcher sadly
check if there is an option to browse local files in the launcher.
somewhere it says C:\Games\Crossout
is the location, but i dont know since i have crossout on steam.
mine is not there,thanks anyways
Why not just have them download it onto their PC?
because he doesnt want to waste data, i assume he has a metered connection or something
You could install this game to a flash drive and pass it around, and initially even run it off of one, but every time you launch it from a new computer, it’s going to want to force a re-install (I think in order to establish user account ID and profile).
You may be allowed to re-install it to the same location (the flash drive) but it will always try to re-install it. In order to stop this you would have to break the law (or at least TOS) and hack some of the files.
Nonetheless, I don’t see why you couldn’t install and run this program from a flash drive, but I wouldn’t expect the game response to be very snappy unless you’re using very snappy USB connections, and they aren’t always very snappy.
I think they can be though, and I get mixed results doing this, whether that is in my recording studio (where USB connectivity is most often an issue), or fiddling around with my hacked version of Skyrim, which I can run from a flash-drive and pass around like the OP suggests doing with this game. It will still install a brief note in your AppData file and apply a launcher button to your computer, but the program never tries to reinstall. It just sets up a few minor files to initiate launch and establish an address for the program.
I can do this with Skyrim, New Vegas, I think, and a few other older games, when and where they don’t need to connect to the internet to play. It’s important to note that this is illegal and certainly against the TOS of most any game.
Games that do require an internet connection tend to always reconfigure and verify their files (re-install) the second it connects to the internet and interfaces with it’s parent server (the second it sees the files are irregular) in order to enhance and secure property and intellectual rights of game developers, I presume.
exactly

I was able to find the place where the files are and found a solution
you can copy the game files to a portable drive from the first pc and then you can paste it in the respective location (mine is located at :C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Crossout)in the new pc and separately bring in the launcher and run the launcher
the launcher with check and verify that all the files are in order then it will allow you to play
