I suspect here are people that exploit this to get easier victories over people that try to build something and try things. So they need this button, to save them time building meta from picture or exhibition, and safeguard them from mistakes while doing that.
They try to sound logical, but they protect the side of spreading meta through exhibition. So their intentions are questionable.
Of course any fool can build something like heavy melee truck, but building dogs to preserve angles - that’s some whole other level, or some high PS build with lots of screen armor.
The only logical moment is fusion builds - but it has it’s own problems anyway.

players like to download and change the build around to what they need,being weps,movement parts,hiding stuff ect…
other players like to build from scratch and upload what they like so they can see them players use their builds they made…or close to what they made…
the military and scientists calls this Reverse engineering…some forum users call this 'Lazy… 
Some people have 0 creativity which is something that really can’t be learned.
I have all my exhibition slots filled and its nice to be able to have others check them out and give them a spin esp with clan mates.
I can honestly say I have never run into someone using my build in game unless we are grouped up and running the same blueprint but even then there will br slight changes as I have 98 percent of all the prestige parts and I can almost guarantee they won’t have the same sticker layout as I have a tendency to use 14 of the same sticker to make my ride stand out.
I would rather them fix the tonnage wedge fix or the terrible tethering bug at the start on the match as those are things that will actually improve the game

You think it sounds reasonable and good, almost noble)) Let me remind what it really is -
Someone started making shotgun dogs, flamethrower dogs, and other ugly things that just work… then some evil geniuses post this to exhibition, to bring havoc and madness and see new meta thrive and ruin the game, but someone there feels proud, knowing “I did this! It’s my genius, I changed the game, evil laugh”
Or you will tell me here that you would enjoy seeing your ugly reverse-engineered meta-dog variation and enjoy fighting it (and multiples of it) and seeing battles full of it?
What would work right - is when you see people trying to replicate it, without exact blueprint - that would be variations and interesting to look at. Some would fail. Some would succeed. Most importantly there would be much less and much slower meta spread in the battles.
Sometimes it’s just funny to see some info about person you speaking with… Playing 8k PS no longer working wedge with 4x nerfed to the dirt maces… Played and enjoyed) Some expert you are… talking how the game should be, like if you know… something… why do I even bother explaining something to zombies like you.

im no expert,never claimed to be one.i’m just sharing my thoughts n info i seen in this game over the years and what players want…getting rid of exhibition would cause all the new players to quit…
why would they quit?–they just don’t have the time to build,but rather would like to just jump in a game and play,and maybe tweak a build or two they downloaded…

New player don’t have many parts unlocked at all. So they can’t use almost anything from exhibition.
I seen a lot of players of 100+ level that would just rather play and not build anything.
That’s a whole another curious topic that probably makes sense to create.
The game is fun to play even without building. It got drones, melee, cannons, machine guns, lasers, plasma. Huge variety for diverse battles. And it’s 8* 8 format and 4 * 4 with addition of bots actually means that any person can feel his own input on battle, not like some other games that got 15*15 battles.
I welcome every player that adds to online on servers.
But topic was about ability for this lazy or no-building-skill players should have the ability to use powerful bias metas that some player just leak to exhibition.
The problem isn’t just in that. What should they play if they want to play the game but don’t want(or just can’t) build?
The probles is actually with devs - All of faction builds that are complete trash. and even what they sell in packs is same unsuitable for pvp trash. So the game should offer some reasonably ok-ish builds by default, so that you can tweak and make something better and be rewarded for effort, or just stay with default builds and be ok with it.
We have lot of players players that play their own builds that look like trash and barely work because they can’t rely on faction build to be example. Also game lacks tutorials on explaining the basic of building.
Devs called for some enthusiasts for building, so they probably have something in mind(I hope not just for making PVE bots cars) We’ll see.
Some weeks ago I suggested reward penalty or “license fee” for using exhibition or heavily popular builds and I see exactly same arguments.
Basically - if exhibition/meta copy abuse means we get additional 10% of players who have creativity of dry towel its a good thing, this game needs all players it can get.
I can not tell how high the share of such players is, so I cant argument against.
Honestly i think crossout should be more like other online vehicular combat games (which most are in a very bad state or just straight up shut down already) in the sense of the exibithion…
The person that uploads a build to exibithion could get a “reward” (maybe in badges),depending in “how good” someone is doing in battle, that would reward people that makes good builds, and even ones that makes builds that look good, and fight good!
I have a couple of player in my clan that HATE building, but love the game. To say that everyone MUST build their own rather than just play the part of the game thats fun, would drive people away from the game.
i personally like building and trying new things but i have a nice sized inventory and availability of parts. If people dont want to build, dont make them.
I am sure that if somebody puts the time and make a great build…it probably wont make the exhibition or it will get changed to make it less effective. I have seen great build that have had 6 small ammo packs crammed around apollo so people die quick with builds.

That’s why there should be a decent playable faction builds and sale pack builds for them. Something suitable for PVP, CW and PVP.
All you’d end up with this is people changing a single part and reuploading it to farm rewards.

Most vehicular combat games with that feature disable it when you reupload someone else’s builds, or straight up do not allow you to “re-upload” other people’s builds at all…
Once you’ve changed a few parts and resaved it, it’s not exactly the other persons build anymore. You’d literally end up having them have to program a system that checks against every part rotation and similar shape drop in replacement part just to see if it’s too similar a build. It’s not worth the effort in comparison to the other stuff they could be working on.
If this happened, the meta chasing sweat lords would be the only group with good builds. Also, the exhibition is probably the most fun and original part of the game.

It could be just check if the player fully “deletes” the build by pressing the delete button or check if there are any parts on the editor left…
It’s just making things more complicated for no reason…
Even if they did this theres people like me who use PS shareplay to build my friends stuff from scratch using thier inventory. Like others said. This will just make cw harder for people who dont have builders in their clan. My clan would do great though.
That being said id very much like to monetize exhibition builds. Set up a price to download. Lazy people can pay for my build mwuhahaha
