Wow…
(Backs slowly out of thread)
I would prefer the lower PS range if I was given a choice, because I’m moody (I’m sure nobody noticed) and I like to build new things often, and that’s easier to do at a lower ps (fewer parts needed), and I like the…“junk yard” theme (totally not Mad Max) that thrives there better than the sci-fi theme that dominates the upper levels. I think they need to make their sci-fi more interesting.
Plus, I lean towards the aesthetics, and art builds survive better down low. Also, I’m something of a minimalist (not a hoarder), so I don’t care to build a massive inventory of parts, most of which I feel do the exact same thing; shoot stuff. If I could play with Little Boys and not sit in the queue for a half an hour, I wouldn’t bother with Hulks, for example.
I’m more interested in the build feature and aesthetics than the guns. I mostly don’t care about the guns beyond how well they fit. I don’t care about perks either, and it’s for the same reason. I’d rather have ease of build than fire-power and perks, which is made pointless by the matchmaker, IMO. The more fire-power and perks you have, the more fire-power and perks your enemy will have. Tit for tat. I don’t see the point. Seems like a carrot on a stick to me, and I wonder why I would bother.
As expensive and tedious to craft or buy as Legendary weapons are, I just can’t see the value. I’m more interested in structure parts, paints, decor (immersion/fantasy) than stats, rank, and leader boards. IJDGAF about “prestige” in this life or in a virtual reality.
I want a fantasy I can believe in when I play a video game, and for me that revolves around aesthetics, themes, and good audio. It’s a “video” game after all, so I’m more concerned with how it draws me in visually and emotionally. I can achieve that for myself with Crossout’s cool structure parts, decor, paint, and Chords if they let me.
Anyway, point is, I find that my fantasy is more obtainable at low power-scores than high ones. I settle for the middle ground, and have no interest at all in the top shelf stuff.
If they presented more structure parts, paints, and decor on the crafting benches instead of just more weapons and modules, I would like this game even more. Then I might be interested in crafting. As it is, I mostly don’t care for the tedium of crafting. I’m not wowed by any of that stuff. It’s all just another gun to me. To me the glory of Crossout is it’s build feature, and their post-apocalyptic lego universe. Lots of games have guns.
This as nothing to do with the topic. I’m not even going to dignify the rest of your comment with a response beyond this one.
oh yes, this is a BIG part about picking a video game for me. The setting and how the worlds rules are built to fit that setting are a big thing for me, for sure.
This was gone off the rails a tiny bit.
Everyone has a sweat spot, a tier where everyone likes more to play in for whatever reason…and so what?
Last time i checked, this isn’t the army where i have to do some obligatory service.
A far as i’m concern i need more diversity than some end game contraption for many reasons but the main one is the grind, epic level offers best “bang for your buck”.
building things requires skill
e.g. I always wanted to go heavy but only very recently i made my first heavy build that i’m happy with and doesn’t seem a overgrown 7 k build concoction. It isn’t a colossus like the ones i see at 16 k upwards, i know, it’s more a upscale of my medium builds that works nicely in a given PS.
One thing is rare or even epic but legendaries (not to speak in relics) it’s a very different ball park like in a totally different postal code.
I will get there when i get there.
Now, guys, can we get back to the topic?
So is this like a “suggest a new part” or game mechanic thread then?
I want CKs for drones…and…uh…IDk, my list is getting shorter now since I will be getting the 1950’s style grill and fins (Thanks, devs. Can’t wait.) I still think I need Crashed UFO wreckage range decor, and exhaust pipes that blow bubbles instead of smoke. Also, I’d like an interesting texture paint for those grey range building blocks, like rust, corrugated steel, or shingles.
Oh ya, now I remember…I’d like to buy the lot next-door.
I don’t think we can really help the devs that much.
If they really wanted better balance, Giajin and Targem would have more resources to balance the game out.
They also sell purposely OP items to make a profit.
In the end, I think they prioritize making a profit and selling OP items rather than focusing on other things like Balance, gameplay, and lore.
I think their recent attack on the sideways hover speaks to a desire to strengthen game balance. That single feature has been very disturbing. It’s been either nerfed into uselessness or is OP due to the exploit. It’s been near impossible for them to balance that feature, and I think they really went out on a limb and took a lot of heat this time to get it done.
I do agree that they need to spend more energy on game-play and lore, but in an environmental application. They have their own Comic now, which is pretty cool, IMO. So, I think they are improving their lore and it’s consumption, but I hope the lore (particularly the sci-fi) is reflected in the maps and environment more in the future.
Most of the issues I have with this game revolve around the matchmaker in PVP, and I think that is largely due to the lack of players to source matches from. Something very positive needs to happen in their marketing department, I think. We need a significant population explosion, but I can’t imagine how these $65 packs are appealing to anybody shopping for fun. They are ridiculously over priced, and that has to be a turn-off for a lot of people. Those prices are just goofy, and unrealistic, IMO.
That is a good point. Hovers are a very polarizing topic. It seems like players either love or hate them.
I also think the staff has several restrictions that make it harder to balance the game. The game’s very nature makes it difficult as well.
Same, comics are a good way to go. I also really liked the animated videos they made for some of the battlepasses.
The game’s setting allows for many different stories to be told.
I really want this game to be more popular as well. It’s a fun game that offers a unique experience.
Better advertisement is only one part of the battle though in player population and retention. The game has a long grind and PVP can get stale after a while. Seal Clubbers and Meta Chasers can make the game even more frustrating.
I think a few well-implemented game modes and an easier grind would really go a long way.
Those pack prices are obscene. Problem is, people will still buy them despite the insane prices.
Premium and Battlepasses are a better deal. I wish Premium didn’t require Crosscrowns. I also wish Battlepasses could be bought and completed at any time. Removing the crafting expiration date would be nice too.
This is not a criticism to people that buy packs
Don’t get caught in the details, like different games, different mechanics
I like this game also, and it’s way better balanced than other games. when meeting an OP build or a Meta build i don’t feel hopeless, and it’s way more forgiven than others too, when if you make a mistake it’s game over.
But Packs, i don’t get it.
I bought a few premium ships in my time, Bismarck, Alabama, De Grasse, and some others.
forget the buy a piece of history fact. But you feel and you can see the Brawling power of Bismarck, how your ship can melt other ships with secondaries alone, how it is extremely hard to hit it’s citadel due to the turtle armour , very few cruisers could run from it
Alabama extremely accurate hard hitting 406mm guns also extremely hard to citadel, because the citadel is underwater, Massachusetts, her sister ship it’s even better for brawling. It has Bama’s guns with Bismarck secondaries and a lightning-fast repair party.
Have you ever heard a 380 mm or even a 457 mm shell ricocheting on your bow?
My point is, the premiums i bought were already made, at full power when you played them, here premium builds seem uncomplete, upgradable and sometimes inferior to my own builds.
I still don’t get Packs and people who buying it.
At least most of them don’t even have a full set of weapons
For the cabin?
I guess that is the nature of the game. Almost any weapon can destroy a build provided it gets enough time to do so.
Even the Meta builds lose easily if they make a mistake of if the enemy team is better.
Yes i know, nature of the game and stuff, i do get that part.
e.g.
Bama vs Massa, two premiums, sister ships.
Bama had 6km secundaries vs 12 km secundaries with twice as fast reload speed, 32 mm of armour can stop a 457mm shell in it’s tracks, at the same time it’s very susceptible to HE, high explosive damage. the repair party in Bama took over a minute to leave cooldown, Massa’s only took 40 seconds.
Massa at first seems to be in an advantage, right? and it is.
i have both of them, and always preferred Bama over Massa .
Massa’s main guns are way too inaccurate while Bama’s were way more accurate.
I always found Bama much more versatile than Massa or Bismarck or Tirpitz. While the later three excel in Brawling, Bama could do it all.
Man, Bama was a old tub and revamped premium when i bought it, way out of Meta and i reached rank 1 in ranked battles in the bronze League within record number of battles.
where i’m trying to get is, i used to bought premiums for a set of tools that allowed me to go to town and have a blast. I loved premiums that gave liberty of choice.
I look to premiums in Crossout, and i’m always thinking it could have at least a full set of weapons, it needed more modules, armour could be much better.
An honourable mention to a tiny red hover, it was snappy, fast, manoeuvrable it seemed fun , armed with synopsis, maybe i did a mistake not buying it.
But for 60 euros?
Came on.
Bama used to give me 40 k damage volleys in a good day, i sunk Kremlins with it ( a ship blessed with Russian bias), i beat Bismarck’s and Massas in their own game, i remember once when a Massa pursuit me, by the time he reached me he had nothing left to brawl with me… yeah that own i beat it in my own game.
I agree here 100%
Is the patch perfect? By far no, but something needed to be done. They always backed down.
Now that we have something in game we have something to work with and tweak to get right. If nothing is added then it just stays the same.
Here gift: Explorer Faction - Google Drive
I embarked on this adventure 2 years ago, the development team leader Ivan Lukanin and his team partially validated this faction. I still have 22 factions to offer so the HR offered me a collaboration with a real salary but the war in Ukraine has started and therefore the money transfers are blocked, so I’m waiting.
I have a discord server and soon a Patreon because I don’t want to work voluntarily to send them the second faction. But I think I will make a post on the Forum by the name of: Faction proposal of Esterex.
To interest them, ask me for my Discord server. Thanks.
I do just want to say that if you believe I should hire my editor to produce well written fan fiction, that’s out of the question. Unless, that is, you wish to provide the payments required to do so, as well as, have an outlet available where said production can be made for sale (free of copyright infringement). If those things can be provided, I’ll put 100% effort in to appeasing you. Otherwise, on topical subjects, keep my talent out of your mouth, I don’t want any part of me in your mouth. Got it?
