I am really struggling on finding any way to make use of this gun, the damage output is horrible and thanks to having flight trajectory it loses to all other spin fastly around the enemy and spam fire type weapons, including those that can even fight at a range cough Cyclones rapid fire machine guns machine guns miniguns cough. It can’t do good at a range or close up, on a hover, a slow tanky build with hidden guns, a fast agile exposed guns build, this is a very bad gun
Any proper dual Lucifer build goes to a PS way beyond what they are capable of existing in, and a lone Lucifer sucks, and pairing it with other stuff still sucks. Even dual Threshers are better than this, just barely though, but with the most bare bones Lucifer build PS you can have a very duked out Thresher build. As rockets, all other rockets do better than it, as an explosive weapon like grenades etc, all other guns do better than it once again.
It’s just really, really bad. It has a perk it can’t make use out of due to the low damage output (the numbers might seem big but you just can’t get this to shoot off parts for the life of you) and the HP works way against making use of the perk, and the overall way the rockets fly makes using this build on a fast enough build to somewhat keep the guns alive, especially at the needed range for that, near impossible. Anyone gotten any use out of this yet? Only way I have seen this gun do any “good” (I have nver seen these rake up any MVPs or top scores) is on a cockpit booster build, but honestly you can slap almost anything onto a build like that and have some success.
I do not think I have ever seen the perk even activate during battle, even after unloading 2 full guns worth of missiles into an enemy, even if it was into the backside or side of a build
I hope the Lucifer doesn’t fall into the file of good intentions along with the Thyrsus, and the Morta.
All very unique weapons that could have some very great potential sadly each one of them suffer from horrible perimeters in dire need of readjustment. Being everyone of them are “event” weapons You’d think the Developers would marketize this and use it to their own gains. Prove me wrong Dev’s PLEASE!
File #13
I have been experimenting with different builds. My biggest issue is the reload time. Even with a Manitou cabin and K-2 it still feels too slow. You’d think a Manitou cabin would at least reduce the reload 25% if not 50% Being a pack only cabin designed for the specific perk. But sadly not.
But I have a build that does help. If your on PC, friend me I will send you the blue print to try out.
Neither have I. seems something is awry with its function.
Manitou is a quirky cabin, and isn’t really about reducing reload time, as much as it’s about pre-charging your magazine for extra damage, and resetting quickly without having to empty your magazine.
I’ve yet to try my lucifer, but do plan on picking up a second one with my lighters. I figure if it’s really bad it will get a buff eventually, and I want a higher end missile launcher that doesn’t require charging like Waltz does.
I have no idea if I’ll be able to get much out of this thing, as I rarely see them in battle. But I expect that when the average BP buyer has unlocked enough lighters that more people have a fused pair we’ll see a lot more of them, and someone might figure out a good build with them.
Since everyone keeps comparing them to threshers, I’m cautiously optimistic. Most people seem to hate threshers, but I was able to perform OK with them, so I might be able to figure out a way of using these.
Been working with different builds with minimal results. As big as it is, the massive rocket display as you anxiously await for the carnage afterwards finding minimal results. And a lengthy reload that will send you running for cover due to being vulnerable during that period. Very large hit box and easily removed. It seriously needs help. Not pleased with the investment.
Very good intuition . Threshers would be a better choice than the Lucifer. LMBO Named after a fallen Angel & just as deceiving. How appropriate . Its like being a Harley rider out riding a Moped, Its all fun until your buddies see you riding it.
If nothing else speaks for just how bad this gun is, just today I had a match where me and another random player with 2 Lucis, both with fast builds so we were the first ones at one of the capture points, ran into an enemy bot. Not a super tanky bot either, one of the more regular ones, I think it might be using punishers or something, maybe 1 cyclone and 2 other weapons. Anyway, we both start unloading our Lucis into the bot, me from directly at the front and the other player directly from the side. And the bot was so gracious to go beep boop while staying in place and not knowing how to fire so we both could just freely unload all rockets into the bot
We did not manage to pop anything, strip a single weapon or movement part, and neither of us could even shoot off enough structural parts to activate the perk, I know this because I did not activate it and we both started the reload animation at the same time.
That is 4 Lucifers worth of uninterrupted fire with all rockets hitting the enemy that is standing still. And that little damage. Bot looked absolutely fine, like it had been hit with a single shot of a fat man cannon
This is just stupid weak, there’s got to be some kind of a bug in the game where if too many explosions happen too rapidly it can’t keep up and some shots just disappear rather than hitting the enemy. I had similar suspicions at one point in the past when Threshers seemed to never do any damage no matter how much you unloaded into the enemy, and there is a known bug of Fortune shots disappearing into the void rather than all three hitting the enemy
To think I dropped the coin & invested time so I could obtain 2 fused Luci’s…
I guess there are other item’s on the crafting list that would be a better option. But I really had my heart set on it. Sadly enough just another flashy dog & pony show with minimal results.
Then I am not that confident that the spider drones would be a better choice either. Knowing how drones always get the nerf bat from previous experiences. And their limited life span & easily taken out. Remembering the Fuse drone debacle years ago and the game wide drone nerf that followed. Drones have been rarely used since.
I am not being a good little optimist now am I.
I’ve gotten 1 to somewhat work on a build with 2 corvos and 1 Lucifer, and manitou cabin
But still the Corvos on that build feel like they do all the work while the Lucifer is a glorified distraction / blindly spamming missiles somewhere and hoping to hit something kind of a gun
morta and lucifer garbage.garbage damage. It’s useless even though it has the fastest reload with morta.Lucifer is the same way.Morta and Lucifer weapons are crap.In pvp, I hit the opponent with morta many times, but their weapons do not disappear. The opponent turns and shatters the weapons with a single shot.Fix the damage of these weapons properly, they are not good for shit.Even when I reload the fastest with Morta, the weapon is useless…Same with Lucifer.I fire a rocket at an opponent with Lucifer, but one of his weapons does not disintegrate. He turns and shoots at me, and my weapon is instantly destroyed. Is such nonsense possible? Both weapons are terrible. Shotgun or machine gun durability is low, I shoot with morta or lucifer, it does not break, the opponent turns and breaks the weapons with a single shot. I fired, what happened?Nothing breaks even if I hit the opponent’s weapons Lucifer or Mortal…
Got 2 fused units, (Buyers remorse) Experimenting with different cabins. Figured a rocket perked cab may help ? who knows open for suggestions. The Manitou didn’t help. Sadly the Luci is easily knocked off due to its low HP durability & enormous hit box. Still experimenting & hoping for those magnificent Devs to buff it.
