HELP ME: Crossout doesn't start at all!

After the anti-cheat closed, i see the black charging screen and then crossout shouts down anomaly, without any tipe of error. I’ve tried to disinstall and then re-install the game, click repair on the louncher and even update the driver to fix the problem, but nothing. the only thing that i see it’s the game log but it’s not that of an help. please help me!

I don’t use steam so I’m not sure on that one. You could put in a support request:

already done, :sob: :sob: :sob: :sob:

You could try the standalone launcher.

standalone? what do you mean?

Play for free MMO action game - Crossout - MMO action game there’s a downloadable standalone launcher for the game.

nothing changed, same anomaly, same tipe of warning on the logs

Did you get hacked, maybe a virus? Do you have protection software to prevent viruses? Maybe do a scan for viruses, just to be safe. I use steam and have never seen that before. :sob:

you could try to move your config files and see if it launches. dont know all the places where these could be but there is a folder in “documents/my games” which might be corrupted or whatever.
also try to revalidate game files but if you already reinstalled it probably doesnt do anything

I don’t have a virus scanner, i’ll take one :face_with_spiral_eyes:

Already done it, i erased all the files of the game and then i re-install it, i don’t know what to do. I’m gonna try ask chat GPT because i don’t have any clues left :sob: :sob:

did you try to move or delete \Documents\My Games\Crossout?
that folder also has logs so you could open the latest ones and search for the cause

Too bad one of these bots that like to haunt this forum don’t make themselves useful and answer the question, eh? Instead they come here to sell snake-oil, or whatever.

I’ve been periodically researching this issue, because I thought it was interesting for some reason, but it’s a bit over my head, probably.

What I’m reading makes it sound like it is an issue connecting to the server. The idea being that the connection wants to verify what’s being sent and received, so it checks in intervals (“Marco…Polo”), but every time it does, what it reads is not equivalent to what was sent. It immediately disengages, maybe to prevent malicious software from being received from the target. IDK, but it sounds like the echo is louder than the call for some reason.

I would use a trusted third party uninstaller to find and remove all the game related files for both Crossout and Steam. Then reinstall using only the Gaijin launcher. Ditch Steam. I suspect Steam is the issue, but I’ve been having server connection issues too, and I don’t run Steam (ever).

What I think is going on is that there are multiple signatures on your computer for the Steam launcher (from installing and re-installing perhaps to different locations), and the game servers or it’s security provider see and treat the multiple signals like an unreadable spam hazard and just FO.

It’s worth noting that they recently up-dated and “optimized” Crossout.

Steam and the standalone install the game to different locations (I can tell via the logs). He should be able to just launch via the standalone as per what I said earlier but it looks like he just installed it and then tried to launch from steam again.

Steam is such a nuisance that I run pirated and Cracked versions of games I have paid for, but require a Steam account launch, like Skyrim and New Vegas. I had a Bethesda launcher, and I liked that, but it doesn’t work anymore for whatever reason. Doesn’t matter, because I don’t need it. I can run either of those games right off a thumb-drive without any third party launcher.

lol

Alright guys i found a solution
I asked chatGPT but he said the same thing i did, so it was useless. My brother then give me an idea: “maybe is the directX that is not updated?” I had done all the update of windows so idk, i tried to install it and then boom, it’s working again!!! I didn’t know why but apparently windows didn’t download the latest directX update. Hell yeah i’m gonna play again! I hate Steam anyway, so rn i have the original launcher

Anyway Thank you all for the support and the ideas, i was panicking and i wasn’t thinking straight

Geeze…I think one of should have mentioned that. Sorry…good to see your brother come through. Solid.

I’m trying to run it on steam deck, it boots easy anti cheat, boots the game to the loading wheel then just crashes. I’m in desktop mode when I try to start it up. In game view it just crashes the whole steam deck. It shows compatible so idk why it won’t work anymore, it used to work.
