Hovers kinda got a shadow nerf

it wasnt a big one though, basically they just dont function anymore if they are not close to the ground. i think they did this because of heli builds and being able to glide down?? correct me if im wrong here.

It’s something alright :joy::unamused:
Hopefully more follow. Something to Slow them down. Acceleration.
Hovers might just be OP with light cabs?
A nerf where hovers aren’t so fast with light cabs could work lol

Plus what I don’t get is why certain hover users get so mad if i bump into them. They aren’t effected at all, compared to lets say omni \ ground builds collide, stopped.
Hovers bounce smoothly, yet they get so mad. Like bro sorry I rammed you for 1 second in a pvp game :joy::joy:
They’ll leave or blow themselves up and spam. Over a slight tap
Man i hate Spamming in game. That’s another rant, but spam makes me lose for one but i just stop playing.

Sadly this seems to just make Icarus IV be unable to climb any ramps and making even less people use this part, and does not seem to affect VII (every annoying fast at-range hover you see) much all in general

Sadly we all know this has nothing to do with balance and they just want people to get excited about their land-hovers in current battle pass and buy the pass instead of being able to rely on their pre-existing parts (hovers)

i mean… it makes sense doesnt it? hovers should be able to glide when you turn off your heli mode. at least… thats what i think this is fixing.

the acceleration on hovers is kind of crazy for light cabins. on my only hover build i have (incinerator build with a blight) i can reach my max speed within less then a second. kinda crazy but its helped me in many situations against users with wheels.
im not sure of their impact though on medium / heavy cabins. i bought a blueprint slot not to long ago so i do plan to see how they are effected.

consider what i said above to. light cabins have really high acceleration compared to heavier cabins.
so i took the build in the shop (the creation) and used that to see how fast i could get to top speed. it took me 3 seconds give or take. my blight on icarus 4s took roughly about 1 and a half to 2 seconds to reach top speed. tcarus 7s took me roughly a second to a second and a half.
light cabin (blight) 1 - 1.5 seconds
medium cabin (favorite) 1.5 seconds
heavy cabin (mars) 1 - 1.5 seconds
i even tried the yokozuna and it took 1 second. cohort the same thing. i think its cause they are at much lower speeds but they also have the power to.
i tried it with the fastest cabin i have (manitou at 109) and it reached its top speed of 87 in 2.25 seconds. or just a little over 2 seconds.
my conclusion is it has to do with the speed of the cabin and the power perhaps. i was using both icarus’ in this and the time between them is very small to get to max speed.

as someone who ran hovers long ago, you have no idea how badly it messes up your aim. ive been literally 180’d by just a simple bump from a team mate, turning me around really fast and forcing my shot to miss or causing me to take damage i wouldnt have otherwise. hovers are not as “unaffected” as you might think they are.

if you ran hovers or used them then youd understand the frustration. ive hit a tiny corner or even something sticking out of the ground and its enough to violently whip my build completely around 180. hovers dont have it as easy as you might think they do.

ive come across this when i am driving forward at the start of a pve match, someone literally spawns right in front of me making me hit them then they blow up. or the funniest one though it doesnt happen to often… id be driving forwards and they would spawn literally on top of my build and theyd get frustrated and either leave or be a turret until they get knocked off lol. thats incredibly rare though but it does happen.

i think theyll still be able to climb ramps i think they meant they cant be used in the air on helis so you will be able to glide down rather then just plop down.
i did some testing in the garage and they seem to be able to climb slopes just fine.

isnt that what it always is though? make one part bad to shift people over to another?
