I connected to my Gaijin account through steam: nothing works to interact with it

I started playing a few years back and made an account through steam somehow. when trying to use some promo links I got an error saying “unknown error” and supposedly an email confirmation was sent to “steam_765611982*******”/
this doesn’t show up in my mailbox, and when trying to connect my own email account through the gaijin website the box for email address confirmation says " Email address: Not confirmed We’ll send a confirmation email to the address you provided during registration." this is troubling because I never provided a proper email outside of steam logins. please help?

I wish I could… hope someone jumps on here to give advice.

I do remember the linking process to be a pain, though.
