If that’s being aggressive then I wonder what the heck would even count as friendly, probably not disagreeing at all and just going “Yes, you are absolutely right, everything you said is absolutely right”
Not to mention going for the lowest hanging fruit possible like a username or posting history. I dunno why you could not just say “From my perspective, you don’t have to lie at all to have normal conversations about the game.” without all that petty extra just for the sake of idk I pissed in your cereal at some point I guess
But no, in my eyes all the people who “let the angry people win” were just people who were against any negative opinions about the game being allowed to be expressed just abandoning ship after they noticed they could not tell people to “Stop disliking this thing” just by telling them that negative comments should not be expressed. Like take me for example, I’ve got a very negative opinion of the game, yet all the positive opinions of the game or posts about them have not driven me out to any degree, and I’ve even agreed with some of them, and if you paid any real attention to a “posting history” you’d actually see a lot of also positive posts or topics. Not as many as negative, but I do not withhold any positive opinions of this game or aspects of it just because I feel very negative about the game. If the game does something good I say good job, if it does something bad I say game sucks, and sadly it seems to be doing things bad a lot of times because I complain so much
Accusing people like me of lying to trap players into the game is pretty weird and aggro, in my opinion.
Your posting history and username are literally the only aspects of you that are available to comment on, and encompass everything you’ve contributed to the forum. How is that low hanging fruit? How are those unfair things to mention?
I dunno man. I’ve been on the forum for a long time, and I’ve seen many members who clearly enjoyed the game bullied off the forum. Maybe it didn’t seem like bullying to you because you were participating in it?
Maybe the difference is that the more positive forum members never attempted to bully you off the forum?
But I will agree that I occasionally read posts from you that aren’t dripping with negativity and anger. We are all complicated humans. Similarly, if you look through my history, you’ll also see complaints about the game.
However, the fact that you picked a username specifically to trash the game says a lot about why you are here.
- I was not accusing of anyone, I was saying it in general rather than saying a specific user would be doing such thing
- I’ve literally changed into this username last year after playing the game with an entirely different username before that. Look at it this way, it took 6 years out of 7 played for me to get fed up with everything and change it. You are not looking at any history you just possibly remember maybe 1-2 months into the past and just assume things that fit you the most
- Those people should get a thicker skin or just ignore the bullying then, it’s very easy to completely disregard opinions of people, especially if they are just trolling with outright “bullying people out” rather than engaging in any criticism. Heck if I feel like there is a specific group or a few people trying to “drive me out” of anywhere because of X reason, I just ignore them and just keep doing X anyway, rather than let them stop me from X because they said “do not X” (in my case X would be negative opinions, in the case of the supposed bullied people on the forum X would be positive opinions)
Like when making a thread, you are going to get both sides of the coin due to multiple people, some will have negative things to say of the topic and some will have positive things to say of the topic, either side outright trying to get the other to not say their opinions is just foolish. Instead of worrying on how many people like/dislike their opinion and what upsets who, just express it.
Who cares how many likes/dislikes it gets, who agrees with you or if nobody does, who you might upset/befriend due to saying it, none of it matters, just do it. The forum is not some thing where you have to always worry about your right/wrong ratio or any kind of social circle to balance out on who you’re forums friends with or not. At least I see it that way, and think that is the healthiest approach to sharing opinions on a forum.
If anyone feels like they can’t express their positive opinions or negative opinions because they are not popular opinions many people might agree with, or people might gang up on them and disregard their opinions, then they need to just realize that none of it matters and they’re free to still express it.
Like me too I will most definitely call someone a complete retard when they have an opinion about something, which I feel is retarded, but so what it’s some random dude feeling like that, you don’t need to feel bad about it or anything, you still have your own opinion of the matter and do not think it is retarded so what would one or 20 guys saying it’s retarded matter? Even if it would not get a single comment that agrees with the opinion, it is your opinion and how you feel and just because X amount of people did not agree with it should not change it

I don’t actually think the negativity here is the main reason the forum is quiet, but rather just one of many factors.
What was your previous username?
I do think that anyone wondering why the forum is quiet should look at the content on the forum, and ask themselves if this is interesting or useful content for a new player.
How many times have we seen new players make a first post asking for advice, only to be immediately met with “you should just delete the game, that’s my only advice”?
I’ve seen it happen over and over, including relatively recently. To me, that has to be a factor in why those members haven’t continued posting on the forum.

Sadly we live in a state where “you should just delete the game, that’s my only advice” is no longer a running joke but more of a genuine suggestion that can no longer be seen as just a meme reply
But kind of like the game, the forum does have good in it and stuff to offer, but just like with the game you have to dig through a lot of other stuff to reach it
then maybe, just maybe, they shouldnt release such broken crap in battlepasses as is and we wouldnt need to complain as much? just saying.
well maybe the devs should care more about their game?
its not like we WANT to do this, but when the devs want to insult us and be uncaring then why shouldnt we tell newer players this? if they dont care about the game then why should they keep getting support?
id rather be here then a place like reddit. sure we have some colourful characters here but on reddit? jesus you got trolls and man children everywhere. people who attack you for no reason.
