Honestly, though? People have been predicting the game’s funeral every year since 2017. While that quote—likely from an NPC like Wade or a faction leader in the current “Snowstorm” event is super ominous, the devs are acting like they’re just getting started for 2026.

It sure does feel that way when you spot in the general chat that a player you have blacklisted since years ago now has “help” privileges and now you see their messages once again.
Granted they are actually helpful messages to the supposed new players who at this point I imagine are hired actors, but still this same guy was a notoriously toxic bedlam bully where 3-4 players in endgame gear (parser hovers back when that was the op meta) hang around in the bedlam and you are not allowed to attack them or any of their friends, but they can attack you all they want, BUT if you dare to fight back you’re killed on sight. Also if you’re fighting some other player and accidentally shoot at one of them, oh look you will be repeatedly killed until you leave the bedlam, and then once again if you ever join it while these idiots are around.
The quality of people in crossout…luckily helis and walkers ruined the bedlam anyway so did not have to deal with that for too long but still kinda rubs you the wrong way when you see some toxic retarded asshole parading as some general help guy. Sure they could have changed over the years, but for you, you will always remember them as that toxic anusmongler circlejerking it in bedlam with the same ground day in day out just stroking each other off like a group of playground bullies
the type of people who would go out of their way to get titles, higher “ranks” or more power in a dead shithole like this game is, are always going to be abnormal.
the whole game and community are an efficient filter to gather either the most uncaring and uninvested, or the most deranged people in one place
