Since the update, all of what you guys are saying has annoyed the stew out of me.
If I do a “from the ground up” rebuild with wheels, I ALWAYS drive it around adventure a while to test it out before attempting to use it in a real battle. For whatever reason, the test drive doesn’t produce the same wonkiness other maps will.
For example, I built a Cerberus rig with Bigfoot STs on the back and Buggy STs on the front. It worked FLAWLESSLY over every inch of the test drive, but did a weird bouncing thing in Adventure that made it seem like the front of the Cerberus was hitting the ground & popping the front end WAY into the air. There should have been tons of clearance, but noooo… because XO is on crack…
And don’t even get me started on the brakes, which we don’t really have anymore. We have reverse & a handbrake. That’s it. For whatever reason, the devs got a boner for drifting…
So I’m not imagining that the garage doesn’t always handle like the game. Good to know!
Reverse/brake is still a hard brake though, so I don’t get the complaints about handbrake. Maybe because I always treated handbrake as a drifting tool?
The reverse/brake thing annoys me… From time to time - especially when hunting hovers or snipers - I want to race to cloak up, race to a particular hidey-hole, and COME TO A COMPLETE STOP while the camera is looking to the side so I can watch my target. I don’t want to have to LOOK AT MY TRUCK to time when it stops so I can switch from reverse/brake to hand brake to hold the thing in place. It’s stupid. I end up coming to a stop and immediately reversing, then gassing forward a bit… Just dumb.
I mean… it’s dumb, but not the end of the world. LOL Clearly, like I said, the devs have a boner for drifting.
There are more micro bumps on other maps then there is in garage test area. I normally use the building blocks to look for spots that hang up and cause those pop-ups as they seem to have those small deviations too.
It would be nice if they could use reverse or forward depending on direction of travel as a normally break. Tossing it into reverse normally stops me really fast.
Not really, I have 1 sabbath build and 1 claw/hermit build, that I haven’t used since…maybe 3 weeks since supercharged update happened? I gave up on wheels all together because nothing worked well enough compared to pre-supercharged
