I’m more of a person than a people, probably. I think I’m the only one who really contends they were always crap. MudnBeer probably still wants to like them. He’s just moody. Venting. It’s what this forum does. It’s what I do.
I might not know what I’m talking about, too. I only tried Maces once.
That build was a blast with Sledgehammers. Then I switched over to the Maces and it was immediately and consistently helpless.
My guess is that it’s a nuance in the matchmaker and power-score; While this build was still faster than hell, it could no longer take a hit, because of all of the bigger guns in play at the higher power-score.
IDK. To me it meant Maces were not an upgrade.
That was a long time ago in game years. Maybe I’ll try it again. That build was fun. I don’t have the Blue-print anymore, but it would need a lot more armor to carry Maces into PVP probably, anyway.
I was actually crafting some Junkbows presently, and looking forward to that. I haven’t done shotguns much at all in a while. Not since they nerfed my Parsers. I thought they might be fun to start with.
I’ve got a cool CK for the Thunderbolt too.
Maybe I should go there and skip the Maces?
I expect Maces are still awful, but I don’t know what the last update has done to shotguns in general. Maybe Thunderbolts stink too?
I haven’t been playing much in general, but this update doesn’t seem to have changed anything as far as the Spitfire-Favorite-SmallTracks META is concerned.
I think the issue is that small tracks are stupid fast, relatively speaking, and have been a hard issue ever since they where improved for handling, now compounded by the current speed nerf.
Nerfing the Coolers or Radiators doesn’t really address the issue, IMO, but I’m sure the developers aren’t done tinkering yet.
There will always be another update that rearranges everything, and I agree with MunBeer that it’s bothersome to always have the rug pulled out from under you, and that’s why I don’t bother fusing too much stuff (hardly anything). It feels like a rip-off, and I never liked the fusion feature, personally, and I certainly don’t care for all the Stabilizers they keep force feeding me.
