Moments when your strategy paid off

Let’s share those lucky moments when a strategy you had paid off and worked. It’s always nice to hear about all kinds of neat stuff being pulled off

I was playing a slow, brick-y high PS Mars, 2Nest, 1Trombone, 1Daze mostly annoying/support build (since I can’t run any recharge boosters and can only make use of the mars perk for a single firing of the nest most of the cases so the damage boost is not that great but it’s better than nothing).

On the enemy team there was a dual devourer hover, towards which I was trying to slowly drive to but of course not fast enough to catch it, and just firing off a few Nests and Trombones extra sluggishly on purpose, and purposely holding on from activating my daze and letting him hit all the bullets so he can activate the Devourer perk next volley.

Of course to prevent Nests from hitting him and he being a devourer hover with nothing to fear, he gets close to me thinking it’s another easy kill. Well the moment his perk booster firing begins, Daze surprise to throw him off and then my Nests manage to hit him because they are from the original battle pass which gave them the fusion for rocket turn speed, allowing them to hit builds more closer to you than normal Nests.

Did not kill him though because his teammates rushed to help him, but with Daze going for thee times and me managing to spam Nests and the teammates turning the whole situation into a big clusterpile I did manage to cripple the build to the point of it just lying on it’s side, unable to move outside flopping with the jack and as an added bonus did manage to shoot off one of the devourers. Very satisfying moment

Once, me and some other guy (random PVP) were the last two survivors, our cars were severely mauled, burning, and immobilized from both of us having our wheels torn off on one side, and we were facing one last dude on a wounded hover playing peekabu-cannons and about to finish us off.

We couldn’t drive forward, only spin around in circles, because of our missing wheels, and the hover-dude was smartly staying just out of our range, weaving in and out of cover to reload and fire.

We were sitting ducks…but, we managed to push our cars together into sort of an impromptu fusion-build that allowed us to move forward, and when that Hover reappeared from behind cover to finish us off, much to his surprise he was no longer out of range. We took our shots and canceled the threat, winning the match for our team.

Teamwork is META.

Heather mandrake hybrid. Old town map, patrol. Completely obliterated EVERYONE that tried going for the center. Last one left alive, got 4 kills

We ran into a fusion build where the 2 players were sat one on top of the other, the top player not connected with a contact module so it could swivel freely…

I happened to be in my triple Triple Toadfish and said it would be funny if I could knock the top guy out of their fusion, so I got inside their barrier shield and managed to do it live on stream… it was great as I called it out prior to doing so.

I made it a Short and it’s scheduled so unsure if it’ll paste here -

Having a faster reload interceptor + a cheetah engine + bigfoots = driving past a fuze Muninn build three times in a row and freezing the drones set to explode by Muninn perk, causing said drones to just explode without reaching the targets and said player to just quit the match

Not my own moment but one I witnessed today, a mandrake player blasted an enemy player to smithereens from below as the enemy drove off a cliff

One of my favorite map related strategies that works, not always but somewhat frequently, is the Sector Ex raised area on the side with the ramps on both ends. If you are waiting at the bottom, you can wait for people to drive to you and poke them on the underside of their build and flip them, or if you are at the top, wait for them to climb up to you and poke them to usually flip them when they are coming up, or at least slip past them and shoot at them. But not a foolproof strategy by any means but very satisfying when it pays off

I posted a video a long time ago, where my strategy was: sit in the open and shoot stuff on a hover. (expecting to die instantly btw)
The enemy team drove around and shot everyone but me. Was a blast.

basic strategy, when the game starts have a drink and stay in base for 5 seconds, you now have 7 meatshields.

I know an extension of this strategy that is deployed by one guy who’s name I “forgot” (refuse to even give attention to) that usually spends the majority of the battle hiding with stealth and maybe taking a few random shots from edge of map until he is pretty much the last player alive, and then rakes in all the kills from weakened enemies, if the team did not win already.

Sadly same troglodyte is a notorious temper tantrum thrower who’s skills with hiding are only matched by how fast he can hurl insults and spam other angry text nobody bothers to read anymore in the general chat if someone on the enemy team manages to halt his genius strategy. Or honestly even if one of his guns or wheels or whatever gets shot off. I think he still does it, I have him blacklisted but every match you can see him stopping to type every now and then in between gameplay as if to type something, and usually get sniped while doing this, leading to possibly more text nobody sees because they figured out the blacklist function blocking all text and dm’s
