New parts thoughts from russian stream

So I was looking at the russian stream to see the new pats before english speakers get to (could not understand anything of course but saw the stuff I needed to see. Also by initial glance none of the weapons seemed to be OP part 2.0 Corax boogaloo, so I suspect one of them gets buffed halfway in and Corax nerfed again

You get:
2 new tracks
1 new meelee
1 engine
1 new grenade rocket whatever launcher
1 new disk launcher
1 new cabin

New tracks do not deal ram damage like I thought, but steady meelee damage like saws etc. But, they only deal it while the perk is active, so when you drive into an enemy you deal damage for a little bit of time until your speed falls below the perk activation needed. So if you facehug people with them, you deal damage for about 3-4 seconds and then none. Damage was not very impressive either, kinda like meat grinder maybe even weaker

New meelee weapon (10 energy) is neat as in it lets people without porcs play porcs, the things roll on the ground like porcs. Meelee damage was not impressive but the projectile damage was pretty ok. Basically you can now play porc-like weapons without needing to buy porcs

New grenade launcher (12 energy) fires like I imagined it would (imagine if Swarms fired continuously as you held down the button, into the area where you are aiming into with the circle). Seemed very nice, might be very easy to use as well, nice damage.

Engine (2 energy) did not seem as op as I thought it would, at least by how they used it, it seemed that while it lets you basically fire Aegis twice, after that there is some kind of a cooldown so you can’t spam it as much as I feared. But has potential to be unbalanced if it works way different in more capable hands and makes the Aegis more spammable

The Disk launcher (11 energy) did not seem very impressive, it kinda works like a Vulture with more meelee but less explosion, but it just did not impress honestly. Could be good but seems kinda weak at what was shown

New cabin, did not seem that busted, it’s ok but not as big of a boost to reloading as I thought. Not bad but hadron king might still be the fastest. It kinda combines the perks of a passive boost to reload and an activation kind like Echo, but yeah did not seem op, but not trash either

All in all could not spot the obvious OP weapon and this seems more like the kind of a pass where they buff all or most parts halfway into the season. A little bit disappointed in the tracks and the disk launcher, but the grenades and meelee seem interesting. Neutral on engine and cabin. Opinions will change once I get to test them out myself in the exhibition at some point

Yeah that’s what i’ve thought too, the only OP parts are cab and engine. Weapons are… just reasonably strong

people will find ways to make them overpowered. i mean if theres a will then theres a way. itll just take time.

that sucks… then again i guess itll prevent people from just ramming and holding forward till they die. you know how often that styles played… :unamused:

New thoughts on parts after testing them out a little in test drive and the test prototypes brawl. All in all, less impressed by all of them than on initial exposure

But first talking of Test Prototypes, that Thrust car is so bad holy balls who designed this, it barely turns into any direction, while the Hyena cheese build has been so optimized it’s lightyears above the other builds in pushing power and mobility. Really bad to properly figure out the true effectiveness of these things based on the test prototypes Brawl.

The Hyenas have cheese ability, because with enough power on your build you can pushtrap enemy builds and just slowly shred them if you have the proper kind of a build. Yet another flavor of the enemy starts driving into you and you can’t do anything because of it, with extra trapping due to the “glue”-like effect of meelee damage being dealt to your build. But at the same time, most of the builds I tried they don’t seem to mix too well with other movement parts, other tracks included, so if you’re thinking of running only 2 on your build, you might have problems with steering and the whole driving might feel annoying slippery

The Thrust feels like it’s better used as a ranged weapon than straight up meelee, and it can do some nasty damage and surprising things due to the projectile bouncing around, kinda like pre-nerf doom where the projectile got trapped beneath or inside a build and deals major extra damage from glitching around. Meelee damage is also very nice, and the ability to deal one last punch of damage even if your enemy escapes the meelee range is very nice. Sadly the brawl build with this car is really bad and makes the whole gun seem way worse than it is, especially when it gets absolutely mogged by Hyena tracks alone because of how good that build is put together compared to the Thrust build

The Inquisitor seems quite deadly, but with how it aims and fires, trying to use it on a moving enemy, or moving yourself while using it, even on a stationary enemy, is a nightmare. Extra frustrating to use but the damage is big if you hit all of the shots. But then again, so is Squall and how many times are you going to be hitting with that? The aiming angle is quite bad (can’t hit enemies close to you), but if your build is tilting forward (loose front thrusters on the brawl build) you can shoot pretty much anywhere, and in that configuration hitting close range builds is extra deadly. Basically that way it’s a Lucifer on steroids. So yeah way better Lucifer with much more facehug damage and way more range and accuracy on a face down backside up build. Normal configuration, it’s still quite deadly but struggles with moving targets way more than most conventional weapons, and can’t hit too close to yourself kinda like mandrakes etc

The Butcher is quite good and people are already calling it the better Corax, but they forget one major thing when comparing the two: Butcher can’t deal damage by itself unlike Corax just spamming normal bolts, so Kami/Argus/the usual completely shut this gun down just like any sticking to the enemy gun (Imugi for example), unlike a Corax where that just prevents the explosive bolt from exploding but a Corax can just spam normal shots and still strip you of everything. Rather than a better Corax, I’d call this a better Imugi. Nice damage but also easy to counter

All in all, all the parts just do not really impress honestly. Very basic and balanced with obvious downsides, Like parts should be but usually the pass ignores that and just sells us some op crap. I’m suspecting they’ll do a big round of buffs to boost sales at some point, one of those passes

After trying out the Jaguar engine a bit more with more builds available in the exhibibion, Yeah this thing is a worse Cheetah. Only purpose this engine has is cheesing a full Aegis +1 more times than normal, but with anything else it just does not work. Especially drones, while being able to launch drones right after the first ones got destroyed sounds good on paper, the fact that the engine perk activates whenever it wants rather tan when you want, you basically dish out more drones per second with a cheetah than with this thing. And it fails to syncro with Muninn and such, and with Annihilators the live time is too long so the perk wastes itself before you can make use of it.

It’s pretty bad, you might find a use for this if you use 2 Aegis shield on your build but other than that Cheetah works better for everything you’d want to use the engine with

Ouroboros is pretty good, the way you want to try using this is spamming the perk whenever possible as it does not “go away” and helps you build up the static perk faster

BUT at the same time I can already see issues with it, because it’s obviously flavor of month toy for NoxScorpion players who moved onto Corax now that NoxScorp got nerfed, and will possibly move onto OuroboroScorp once they properly nerf the Corax. Why do I think that? Already with 4 charges of the cab perk, Scorp reloads in 2 seconds, 1 second once you get to 5 and activate the perk, 1.5 seconds without perk active and basically at that point enjoy rapid fire scorp hovers. And this was on a test build with only a flywheel, so with a Cyclops you possibly can get into 1 second reload at perk level 4. Once again yet another part that makes the already top tier weapons even more top tier and leaves the rest of the peasant weapons to still be peasant weapons. So same blatant bullshit as always

Sadly this cabin seems to tune up some specific guns into insanity territory, and oh how convenient it’s Scorps and Devourers

I’d disagree with this

Drone builds ALWAYS relied on maximum speed, Muninn is a bad cab simply because it’s too slow. If it “boosts drones” it doesn’t means it’s good, Satori always was the better option, especially after they made targeting your drones not unique to Muninn

Also with Fatums this engine is straight up broken lol

that thing has 300 more tonnage then a finwhale… someone explain to me how a tiny engine has more tonnage then an engine that belongs inside a train… seriously 4300 tonnage on an engine thats smaller then a giant engine made for tonnage. how does that make sense?

Maybe they added an extra 300 tonnage NOW, so they have something to nerf LATER?
