NEXT STEP, COPTER REWORK. [Idea] [season idea.]

Copters are OP, especially if one team has 2 and the other none or in the worst case a 4 stack.

Lets take a page out of warthunder and make it so you have to earn the ability to use your copter in next step.

This idea has two parts.

PART ONE: EARNING YOUR WINGS

AT match start all players will be on their ground vehicle be it mech, car or tank. after getting 3 kills you will be allowed to swap to your copter. Though once destroyed you will have to get 3 kills again on ground. This means a team with good copter players will get less of an early lead for just having them and allow for more balanced starts.

PART TWO: GUNSHIPS OF DOOM.

To go with this, a change will be made to copters, they will get 8 bonus weapon energy for their vehicle class, as well as a unique bonus for rocket class weapons costing 1 less energy (except pyres). This is to incurage using weapons with more counter play as that will allow them heavier hits but at a cost of less effective against builds with shields or flares.

Along with this copters would have a list of restricted weapons, mainly being shotguns and caucs. (at the moment, yes I know cauc ones are no longer OP. but this is purely do to the 8 energy bonus.)

Another bonus copters would get with this is +10 to their part cap.

mk12 Minigun pod
Rarity: blue
ammo: 500
info: a fixed angle minigun similar to A course cannon is a blue tier heavy minigun with no perk

Breacher Minigun pod
Rarity: special
ammo: 450
info: a fixed angle minigun similar to a course cannon is special rarity with millers perk but every 20 shots.

Air master weapon control unit.
Rarity: Legendary
power cost: 6
info: a power unit similar to the jackie or Omnamori. The Air master is a none rotating unit with 2 pins on the bottom. Said pins removing cooling requirement from any MG mounted to them and allow the weapon to charge its ability.

perk: hits with mounted weapon charge active ability, ability makes all unguided rockets fire incendiary and cryo rounds once fully charged (alternating.)

Beast gunport
rarity: EPIC
power cost: same as other MGS
info: a side mounted gun port with a tri barreled minigun. has a large “internal area” but the sides of the external area are armored similar to armored parts. (the minigun its self is not but both the sides of it are.
think of it like a 2 wide four tall box, with a 4 wide 2 tall weapon attached to the front the 2 side pins on each side of the weapon having the armor.

Perk: every third hit is an incendiary tracer that heats parts for 1%.

Just make the Starfall deal 100% more damage to rotors, or make the rotor hitbox the size of the blades, that would solve a major issue with the helis: they’re near impossible to immobilize.

Although I do really like the idea of more guns. We do need an epic and special AA gun.

Perhaps the legendary Cauc could be a CIWS that can only lock onto armored aircraft?

I think they should address the issue by presenting separate objectives to each build category (Legs, Wheels, Wings).

Also, they need air-bots, and maybe interactive flying platforms (airbase) copters could land on. I suggest steampunk airships, like zeppelins, but they could be whatever. This could help present separate match objectives for copters, and maybe legged mechs too (or not).

Ground troops could hope to dominate the ground, and air brigades might hope to dominate the sky, or work to prevent the others from meeting their respective objectives.

Walkers perhaps could have an entirely different agenda to complete that would result in a match win. They could also either focus on their part, or choose to prevent the others from gaining traction to meet their objectives.

Or, they could strictly separate the three modes and completely eliminate them from competing with each other.

WE do have a map with flying fortresses that we can damage. Could make it so that those are over each spawn area on this mode.

Destroying the enemy one gives you points and allows your ground builds to move safely into an area they can’t.

so your counter to helis is having someone get 3 kills to use it but then buffing helis to deal more damage and more energy?
nah dude. ill give a hard pass on that.
your 3 kills idea isnt bad though but 86 the other ideas.

Let’s take a page not for Warthuder but from Wargamig…
The reason behind the rework of cvs ( carrier vessels) were years and years of complains mainly about player skills.
How in a up to a 20 minute game, 5 minutes into a game you heard from your cv player , i’m out of planes.
Then you, and the all team knew you have a bad cv player in your team.
The other cv player managed to bait your teammate planes into AA bubbles from the ships, or into fighter planes , while squeezing strikes between your own fighters.
A detail, while the two teams faced each other in an action game ( just like crossout )
the cvs players played an strategy game, RTS = real time strategy
After the rework, cvs joined the action POV, they ceased to be able to counter the other cv ( fighter planes disappeared, AA as a all was nerfed to the ground, as we speak, cvs are the most powerful class in that game where you don’t have any counter to them, if they focus on you, you will be dead in 2 strikes, in 2 minutes in a game that can last up to 20 minutes.
Cvs can win a game single handed, they can wipe out an entire team.

well, what i’m seeing…we are living in the year of the cv ( private joke in the other game ).
the problem is not if my team has none choppers and the other team has 2 or 3 .
the problem is if my team has a bad chopper player and the other team has a good chopper player or worst, 2 or 3 good chopper players.
I don’t like either way, or i get suppress by them or i get my modules blown up or they do all the damage and i end up with less points in the end.
My experience with reworks are not great, there and here, it’s a bad idea, and it’s still a bad idea.
It was the cv rework ( patch 8.0 ) that brought me to crossout.
Unlike wargaming that shove into our throats whatever we like or not, Gaijin it’s been more gentle but their goal is to unify the two player bases into one, since, apparently the crossplay didn’t work .
I always said hovers were nothing, people complained about them without even know how good this was…give it enough time to understand what i always said, to have a taste what i’ve been saying.
for now it’s like tier 4, facing 2 cvs with a ship with no AA.
If this next step go through i will give two years, tops, for this game becomes as unbearable as WoWs. ( World of warships)

A lot of valid points here will rework the idea.

Reworked suggestion.

EARNING YOUR WINGS

To earn your wings you need to get 3 kills with most damage dealt, with a threshhold of 85% damage for a kill and 95% for an assist to count. WITH OUT DYING. This will earn you a copter, but if you get 6 kills with out dying you can bring in your levi instead.

To balance this out, the kill requirement will go from 15 to 25. and the reward would be boosted. This gives levis a use outside of clan wars, and makes the builds like a kill streak reward.

Alternatively you can opt out of your levi or copter instead for remote strike similar to the spider mech from steel trooper at 3 kills you get 3 warning strikes which ping hte location, at 6 you get missile strikes which fires top down missile at all targets on the enemy team. (flares do not break lock radar guided.)

Note kills while levi or aircraft DO NOT COUNT.
Chopters must be within 500 of your ground builds PS.
Levi’s are limited based on your tier.
2k-4k example they have 12k max.
4.5k-8k 20k max
8,5k+ no limit.


OBJECTIVE CHANGE

On each map would be 3 heli carriers, these will have a cap point on them. IF a copter player lands on and caps the point said carriers weapons will swap to their team. these weapons are boosted compared to the map ones. They will also gain 1 point towards victory for each 30 seconds they hold the cap.

These special flying caps are areas around the carriers that can only be capped with an active rotor craft

Ground vehicles would also gain a central point that can be used for similar purposes though ground vehicles main uses is collecting kill points directly.


How is this?

this isnt the way to use levis and not to mention… who would want to fight a levi in normal pvp? we are occupied enough with normal enemies and now you want levis in it? common dude.

levis need to be implemented in different ways then this. not to mention itll be a one sided battle if levis join like that.at that point itll just be a race to see who can get their levi out first. and what if multiple people get a levi? the match will be as good as over.

thats very limiting and not to mention, unfair to ground units. this would only be fair if everyone had rotors.

again a bad idea. this gives helis an advantage.

i kinda wish they had a system like warthunder where you capture points and the number of points you capture gives a certain amount of points per say like 10 seconds or something. they had it before with the spring mayhem event but of course they wont put that in because its a temporary mode and its forbidden to do so in their eyes.
